the rental gear will be ok for a first time-listen to the deckhands. if you want a starter outfit go with a penn fathom 25N and seeker 670 wound with 25 or 30# ande mono. on the cheap under $300. best to use a 3ft leader of 25 or 30# fluoro-will be easy to find. Ray Sobieck's Producer is a fish killin' boat-the first one and this newer bigger version. lots of room. Ray retired to the idaho elk country in 2006 always a legend. i miss spending time in his wheelhouse, hearing him teach future captains. you'll do good. lee producer. We Produce.
