"Dad I want to look in the scope when I shoot." "No son you might move the gun. Just squeeze your thumb and index finger together. and watch with your eye's. You will be able to tell your friends you shot a deer at 650 yards." "Daaad, The claw is shooting the deer. all I'm doing is putting my fingers together." So... in theory, the kid, or the client, or the 70 year old dad who can't walk as far as he used to could actually just stay in the truck, they could run a fishing line from the truck to the trigger, the dad could aim it since the kid or client would obviously have trouble finding it in the scope anyway, then radio back to the kid or client to pull the the line. he pulls the trigger, and could still tell his friends he killed the deer at 650 yards? Or if they make one for a bow, maybe the guys who get reemed for taking 90 yard shots would feel more comfortable posting their success stories.

My wife and I are going to NZ in August. I've been researching hunting opportunities down there, but both can't and don't want to pay to access the guided hunts on the game estates. does anyone know anything about hunting in new zealand. for instance, I know the estates have a lot of big stags, up over 400", but it seems that the public land hunters rarely take stags over 250". is there a chance at a 300"+ stag on public land down there, or do I need to start saving pennies? We do plan to be down there for a few years at least, so I'll get to hunt other species as well. I'm mostly interested in the stags, tahr, and fallow. but I'm sure i'll try to stick a few feral goats and pigs while i'm at it. can't wait to get down there.

"Most folks get lambasted for e scouting on hunting websites.. Maybe you should search that. I'm sure you'll find alot more info to support my side of the story. Thanks for pulling up my first post on CWT, EVER, from 5 FRICKIN' YEARS AGO!!!! Whatever that was supposed to prove. Hope you had fun going through 1,151 posts to pull that one up.. Oh yeah, just for your information JMP, I've ALWAYS been more than happy to help out ANY member of this and a couple of other sites who have asked me for advise, either publicly or through PM's with deer hunting, AZ unit info, MT hunting, TX hunting, upland bird hunting, African info, New Zealand info, fishing in Mexico, mountain climbing, taxidermy work, info about my job, etc.." Scottyboy, I meant no offense, and didn't mean to appear to contradict anything you said, if that's what I did. You're right, most people get slammed nowadays for what others consider e-scouting. I just meant to show that times on this site have changed, cos there used to be a generally more helpful approach to guys who ask for help. My apologies if it came across as anything else.

didn't seem to happen much on this thread about Unit 33 from back in 2004... guess times have changed. Jul 20 2004, 02:55 PM Post #1 Hey guys, I've been lurking around this site for awhile now and figured I'd finally throw out a post or two. I know many of you from the MonsterMuleys forum, so not everyone here is a stranger. To the rest, I just want to say hello. Anyway, I guess that you figured out that I drew the aformentioned tag for this fall. I have been in the unit a number of times Mearns quail hunting up in the Catalinas and have seen alot of deer and a few good bucks. But, I've never been up into the Rincons. I've heard that they hold some good bucks if you know where to go. So, my question to all of you is -- if you have any info on this unit and hunt, any you can spare would be gratly appriciated. I am not looking to kill the next world record, just a good, respectable buck that I would be proud to hang my 1st AZ tag on! Thank you and good luck to all of you this fall, Scottyboy IPB I live vicariously through myself....

Montana Signs in New Gun Laws

this is the beauty of the way the federalist system was set up... where states had the power. competition between states would assure the best form of government for the governed. the feds, though, don't have any competition, so we can't get away from roe v wade, and income taxes, and brady bills, and the like. -
Anybody know where to find the hunt Arizona data for last year's fall draw? I'm not sure if the g$f has piblished the information yet. I'm curious to see how the addition of the late November tag changed the 1st/2nd choice structures.

you can probably correct the color in photoshop or other photo editors if it's really a problem in your photos. i would guess most people can't tell the difference. i personally wouldn't get the hd.

What do the pictures from the morning and evening look like? At that time of day over exsposure isn't too strange.

perfect. thank you sir.

This thread is ridiculous.

At least they're doing it the right way instead of asking for a taxpayer bailout.

to each his own. i enjoy the technology almost as much as the hunt. i'm a gear freak. speed is fun. so is killing. you do your thing. i do mine. nice bucks, by the way.

Hunting Stimulus Plan
JMP replied to Simple Hunter's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
or how bout this... when a business goes bankrupt it has to sell off assets. since the only thing our bankrupt government really owns in land, how bout parceling some of it off. -
I don't know the exact number. I bought it a year ago. I know it's less than 200 rounds. I also have the .177 cleaning rod that will come with it.
-
yeah, i certainly won't be sad if it doesn't go. they're a blast to shoot. I killed two bobcats and a fox with it, and missed the only coyote I shot at.

i need to get the trigger pull on a remmington 300 ultra sendero lightened. any recommendations who to take it to?

i'm about a block away from guns etc... i just didn't even think of them. even though i hear their stupid clinton commercials everyday during rush.

there's a reason they like the good stuff, cos the good stuff is a huge improvement over the okay stuff. and is typically much lighter than the okay stuff, which means you can go more miles. i think the best tent you can get is the msr hubba, unless you want to bivy, which will save you a few pounds. i like the comfort and illusion of security in the tent though, so i'll carry the extra couple of pounds. for sleeping bags, try to keep it under 4 pounds, i'd say. and you can't go wrong with brands like the north face, rei, go lite, or marmot. i've never had a bag or needed a bag that was temperature rated less than 20 degrees, but this year i want to get the go lite adrenaline that is rated down to 0 for a january hunt in u27. i like the jet boil, or the msr stoves to boil water for the mountain house mre's. i use an msr water filter, but in december/january, if i have running water, i don't use it cos the water is too cold for most bugs (it's just a risk i take). i also like to use trekking poles, since they help distribute the load between your hips and your upper body, and help keep your balance when you are packing heavy.

My Pops nailed a MONSTER non-typical mule deer
JMP replied to AZantlerhead's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
thanks for that story, and your appreciation of your father. it's what makes hunters different. hunting and fishing is how i remember my grandfather.
