"The Department will review and consider all comments received during the comment period"... and then quickly proceed to wipe their culos with them. They started this a few years ago. I'll give them my thoughts, but highly doubt they consider any public input.

It would take a lot of the fun out of it for me. I happen to really enjoy the 5 hours looking in a canyon for deer as much if not more than the moment of finding one. I don't think the technology will stop except for individuals saying enough is enough for me. To each their own. This, and some other stuff out there is not for me.

And like azcouesandelk mentions, replace the grip with the Focus grip first thing.

Both good bows. The Monster is a tank. It's very heavy. The Z7 is great. Slower though, but lighter. I just traded my Z7 for the Z7 Extreme. I didn't care much for the HELIm. Shoot them both. Then decide. The BowTech Insanity is an awesome bow too, if you're open to shooting a BowTech.

Non-Typical Solutions, I'm trying to figure out what might be causing your issue with the images. Can you PM me with the details of your machine... for example, what operating system and browser you're using. Perhaps how much memory you have available? -

New and Improved CouesWhitetail.com website coming soon!
JMP replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in The Campfire
One thing to note is that the URL for the forum will be changing. Right now it's at forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums. As soon as the site resolves to the new server, which could be any minute now, the forum url will change to: www.coueswhitetail.com/forums. So those of you who have it bookmarked, please make a note of the change. -
Cool buck! Congratulations.

I've been working with Amanda on some big changes to the main CW.com website, and as such we're testing a single sign on program that lets you login to the new website, and be logged into the forum at the same time. The trial we were using expired sometime yesterday, which was creating a PHP error. I found it last night, and think I've got it all cleaned up now. Please let me know if you're still experiencing any troubles by emailing me at jay.park@rocketmail.com. I appreciate your patience during all of this. The new site will be well worth the headache I assure you. Coues Sniper, let me know if you're still having problems with your PMs.

I thought it was done really well. But I found the whole thing a little contrived. I suspect they changed the theme of the film to "I gotta go home and be with my kid" once they realized they weren't going to kill an elk. Especially considering that the guy is heading to the arctic for more than one hunt in the next week or so. I mean, what's he going to do next year when his kid is a year old and he REALLY might miss something. Still, very well done, and entertaining for a bit. But I agree with Desert Bull, a little too much slow mo of the same action over and over from different angles... then all that and didn't even really show a bull.

I'm selling my Tikka T3 lite stainless in .300WSM. I bought this in December 2009, and have put less than 60 rounds down the tube. Scope not included. Comes with a "claw" strap, and 2 boxes of Winchester 180gr Ballistic Silvertip ammo. $600 Call, text, or PM me. Jay 480.215.3175 Rifle is in Chandler Will post picture later... but here's a dumb little video I made to test my camera a while back.

I just finished editing a quick video clip from Cade Smith's 2012 Sonoran buck. 10 second version of the story goes, Cade found the deer in glass, then ran down to a vantage point. When he got there, he saw the water and realized the buck was coming in to drink. Then gave him a mud bath. It taped out right around 111".

thanks everyone. I spoke with a gunsmith yesterday, and am going to do as suggested and re-barrel an old .30-06 I don't use anymore. Then continue to customize it as I have means. Glad to hear that those who have them like them.

I'm looking to get a new Coues deer rifle, and have tentatively settled on the 6.5x284. I've got a budget of about $1000 for the rifle, which excludes anything custom made. The only factory gun I can really find in this caliber is the Savage Long Range Hunter. Anyone have any experience with this rifle? Should I expect MOA, or will this go sub? Are there other factory rifles I should consider? Thanks for your help.

beautiful animal.

No Brian, unfortunately I had a work commitment in Dallas when Cade went down and wasn't able to make it. I just got to edit the video. This was literally a fraction of the footage Cade captured while down there.

Reading up on some hunting/fishing news this morning, I came across this article about the wolf OR7 which made its way from Oregon to CA, and it's brother OR9 that was shot in Idaho. http://www.laketahoenews.net/2012/02/ranchers-wolf-advocates-on-opposite-sides/ Highly slanted article in its own right, but the scary part is the first comment, which though not the face of crazy, is certainly the MIND OF CRAZY:

Yeah, not sure. If it is it's huge. Glad you guys enjoyed the video. I seriously can't stop watching the impact. As Matt says, it's devastating. Love the way his hind legs buckle.

I'm going to sell my Swarovski 80mm scope. It's in near pristine condition. No marks or blemishes on the glass, whatsoever. The only ding on the body is about a mm large nick on the base where you attach your quick release plate. $1900 Call or text. 480-215-3175
