hey fellas, just wanted to thank everyone for their responses to my question about the arrow fobs. it was more than i expected. anyway, i've been shooting for about 3 years now, typically only in the fall to get ready for archery in december. i missed my first shots at a deer last january, so i am determined to shoot year round, and become a very good shot so hopefully talent won't be the reason i burn another tag this year. i typically shoot about 20 to 30 arrows a day in my backyard from 20 yards, figuring this will help me develop the muscular stability to hold still at yardages up to 60 (it's better than nothing at least). normally i can group 3 arrows to within an inch or less from each other. but lately i haven't been able to do that. i'd say they're within 3 inches, which is toooooo much at only 20 yards. i'm just not sure what happened. i had a new zebra string put on it not long ago, so i took it in to archery headquarters to check the cam timing and ATA thinking that maybe my string stretched some, which wasn't a problem. i'm getting very frustrated and was hoping that some of you guys who've been shooting longer might have some advice for me. my arrows seem to be flying the same paths (no horizontal or vertical wobble), i'm just missing. i use a trophy ridge drop away rest. seven deadly pins. a scott little goose release. a mathews outback. carbon express maxima 350's. 100 grn. field tips. maybe i should give it a break for a week or so??? i don't know. i'm at a loss. thanks in advance. jay

What do you all do to control scent when you backpack in on your hunts? i figure it probably doesn't matter what kind of camo i'm using, since i tend to get scented more often than seen anyway. this year i'm packing in. just curious how you all handle it. i figured i'd use a body/hair cleaner and scent free deo, but i want to pack light(ish) and don't want to take more than one good pair of camo. i was thinking i'd keep the camo and scent block clothes off until i make a stalk... any thoughts? jay

this may be it, actually. i try to analyze what i'm doing wrong in my head as i'm shooting, or immediately after i shoot. sometimes i know my shots are gonna be bad cos i seem to punch at my release and it doesn't feel smooth. i am rarely "surprised" by a release. and sometimes it does seem hard to hold steady, which seems odd to me. i don't have a problem with the poundage or the weight of the bow. i'm going to go to usury tomorrow, i'll see how i do there. any idea how to get a hold of mr. pearson? thank you guys. i appreciate it much. jay

This is a poll, a vote. You cannot vote on scientific facts. actually it's not a poll or a vote. it's a petition for government action against the kyoto treaty. and it's also a rebuttal to the argument that we are to accept the catastrophic global warming threat because there is a scientific consensus. obviously there is not a consensus. my opinion is that there is sound evidence that the climate is changing. and that's where it stops. needless to say, i think legitimate efforts to use less of everything are wise, at least until we can develop alternative energy sources. and surging energy costs may be the impetus the market needs for innovation. and i wish this issue hadn't become politicized, but it has, and inasmuch as a political group attempts to use it to impact my life, i take issue with it. markets will work themselves out, generally, if governments don't meddle. so will the earth, if governments don't meddle. we shouldn't be so arrogant to think that we are it, the culmination, and that there is nothing in evolution beyond us.... or if you believe in god, as I do, that this isn't all some part of the plan.

Trouble at the border? I had no idea!

my buddy came back from rocky point last weekend, and had forgotten his passport. the guards asked for it, he didn't have it... he gave them his drivers license. it took him a little longer to get through, but he made it through nonetheless. -
OSAMA or OBAMA
JMP replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
obama has already set the stage for the recession he creates when the dems raise taxes by saying that the housing problem is reminiscent of the stock market crash causing the great depression, (didn't he go to harvard or something) it wasn't the stock market crash, it was the government policies in response, policies that eerily similar to his proposals (taxes taxes taxes), that caused the depression. but this way he's able to blame it on bush's economic policies instead of his own. i for one am with desert bull. i'm for ron paul (except maybe running out of iraq)... but i don't know why we can't leave some of the other countries we're in. put our soldiers on our borders to stop the dang flood aliens and drugs and criminals coming into our country. welfare... socialized medicine, all these things can be voluntary. private organizations run more efficiently than any government beaurocracy. if the government wouldn't steel 30% of what I make I'd be much more inclined to give out of my own volition, and we could do much much more. then the markets and businesses would grow, creating more jobs. we're in a mess with these people aspiring to be our leaders, and i just thank god that there are enough country boys in this country to keep it upright, cos no matter how bad these people are... the american people are still strong. -

hey guys. i've read the site for a while now, and have found it to be an excellent source of information. i value all of your opinions, and am just curious if any of you have ran into the arrow FOB's being made by a company in tucson. apparently they're a plastic disc that fits on the end of your arrow in place of vanes. just wondering what you all think of them. thanks. jay
