Hey I have seen cow elk in unit 42, I can put you on them pretty easy....and if you want you can buy a Pterodactyl tag as well. might as well get this one in a lifetime tag, why it is still available

I was hunting the whole entire day, with nothing but muleys to be seen, found a nice 4x4 pickup as well. about 40 mins before sun down i spoted 2 bulls feeding around 1000 yards give or take. i could only tell they were bulls when one of them moved, the sun glared off of his antler. He was the 9th bull I saw, Me and a friend of mine started the sneak down rather quickly since we were racing the sun. i got to about 200 yards and could see his size, then I knew he was a shooter for sure. i didnt have a clear shot, i snuck down a little draw and came up on the other side of the next hill and had about a 150 yard shot or so. just guess since i had no rangefinder. I sat underneath a juniper and set up for the shot. the bigger bull started walking up and away and gave me the perfect shot angle. When i shot, i struck the bull right behind the shoulder and about half the way up his body. He didnt take 10 steps before hitting the ground. The 2nd bull that was there started running to the north, which just so happened that is where my friend was, and he filled his tag that same evening. out of our group there were 6 tags, and there was 5 of them filled. My father was the only one who didnt fill, but was just as happy to see me fill my tag with that kind of elk. It was a great hunt and one that I wont forget that is for sure.

On the G4 on his left, at the very tip started to fork off, but not enough to count as an additional tip in my book. he came out to be a 7x5, between his g4 and g5 on his left there is a small 3 inch or so tine. a little addition.
