Off road travel to retrieve Big Game

I think if they were to put this law in place it would be discrimination against the elderly and the disabled, and would mean hunting is only for the young and the fit... -

The best steak I have ever had is from Donovan's steak and chop house in Scottsdale.

At the end of a long hard day of horn huntin' or after a successful day in the field some of my best memories are sitting around the campfire...

He is a 7x8 and scores 181", looks like a big old buck going down hill, his teeth were below gum line and it layed on the ground probably four or five years. As an avid horn hunter it really was a once in a lifetime pick up for me and will never forget that day!

Quick turn over, mount looks great, congrats! -
29 1/5" wide, there were three of us hiking all day that day I can't even tell you how many miles we hiked and that is the only thing we found. The guys were in for a huge surprise when we all finally met up at camp that night!

Depends on the time of year, when I hunted it it was late august early September, and the big big bucks were all in the mountains above the treeline called the alpine. It was vary difficult trying to get to them. P of W is a rain forest so when its not raining everything is covered in condensation so by the time we actually made it to the alpine we were soaked. The best time of year to hunt them would be from when snow pushed them down off the mountain. P of W produces some of the best blacktail anywhere so I hope you have some better luck than I did. I would also recommend buying a bear tag and do some fishing as well. There is a fishing guide on the northwest part the island called Bear River I believe, he is kind of a remote location but definetly the best fishing guide on the island. If you are interested in fishing I would ask some of the locals about his outfit and if he is still around. Anyways I hope I was some help, good luck and post a lot of pix!

I was looking through some of Jim's "Coosefan"posts and found this photo of a bull his client killed and I'm pretty sure I have the sheds off the bull. Between me and two other buddies we have picked up every year of sheds off this bull dating back to '06. I need Jim's confirmation though, I'm almost positive ..Unfortunately I don't have pix of all the years we have off him but I will post what I have. The second pic are the '08 matched set off the bull, the third pic is a '10 and a '11 fresh single that a buddy and I found on the same day about six miles apart, the bull definitely wintered in the same general area every year and was never under 370" as a mature bull but never broke the 380 mark, so we dubbed him the big little bull for this reason. The antlers themselves are huge but always lacked mass and eye guards, 56" beams and 23" royals. This bull liked to shed one antler and than shed the other always over a mile away, the bull was always on the move, a few of his horns are either still out there or in someone else's garage. Hopefully Jim has some velvet pix of him.I know it is hard to tell because they are so broke up and he lost the small seventh point on the one side, but these are the last sheds off the bull before Jim's client killed him, just found yesterday. Here are the two sets together.
