COOSEFAN, Without a doubt, the best place to have this done is by Skulls unlimited. I checked for a javelina and it is $85. I had my WT done this year. It was back to me in about a month. They do work for museums and anything relating to the osteological world. Not only they use Demestid beetles, but have a protective dip it goes through to guarantee no yellowing. My deer skull is unbelievable. -Shiras skullsunlimited.com

I have 2 Burris scopes. A 3x9 x40 Fullfield 2 and a 4x12 compact with a 32mm objective. Both have worked great. I dropped my gun a couple years back and it smoked the variable adjustment knob. I sent it back to them (lifetime warranty) and it came back as good as new! I have been very pleased with them. I just know for the $, Burris is hard to beat. -Shiras

BUTTONS????? Do buttons even shed? WOW! Now if you guys can find those that is superhuman-like -Shiras

dds, I've always wondered how the spread on sheds are measured? Does it have to do with the angle of the pedicels? Again, great find. It was actually off this post that inspired me to go out after church today on a shed hunting expedition. 3 years ago this March, I saw the biggest buck (eastern) that I have ever seen, by the same wooded area that I was in today. He was standing about 2 feet from the road. I would guess him to have been in the 140-150 class. I live right in the middle of town, near a city park. It just amazes me that deer like this are so adaptable. I did find a shed a couple of years old today. In my estimation, probably 120-130 class deer. His eye guard was chewed off as well as his main beam. In '03 I shot a 134 gross WT and this guy is heavier than him. Probably a mainframe 8 (or should I say 3 point?) I actually got an adrenaline rush when I saw those white points sticking up in the air!)-Shiras

My son and I went to the Southcentral Whitetail expo in Tulsa last night and he won a youth hog hunt from SCI for naming 8 of the 15 African plains game they had there on display. He is 9, and now has to get his hunter education certificate before he can go. He is SOOOO excited! Daddy smells an excuse for purchasing another gun.... -Shiras

Actually after a quick search on Yahoo, the Nitroexpress comes in .450, .475, .500, .600 and .700 Nitroexpress. I made the assumption that it was the .500. Like it matters.lolShiras -
C'mon guys, anything bigger than a 28 guage may be cause for a heart attack!!!!-Shiras P.S. I'm for Scotty Boy giving a safety course for wing shooting to the White House.

The .500 Nitroexpress! This dude stops hippos, buffs, and elephants in their tracks with the classic double. Click on "play video". This is bound to be a P.E.T.A. favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is an interesting fellow. He likes to get the animal to charge him (Big 5/ 7 including hippo and croc) http://www.nitroexpresssafaris.com/ -

We're waiting for him to be killed here in Oklahoma. We haven't had a good mountain lion kill here since......well....ever. It will do our state good. No wait, they are on our endangered species list...scratch that. Hey Scotty, I love our V.P., but maybe you should call him up and give him a few quail hunting pointers -Shiras -
Nice porker Tommy! Congratulations. -Shiras

I have found this extremely valuable when it comes to scouting land via aerial view. I wanted to see if any of you guys ever have problems pulling up a specific location in focus. It seems that the greened out areas are all fuzzy. Maybe they only focus on populated areas, or then again, maybe it's my computer. Tucson, Phoenix and Albuquerque came in. Morenci, Globe, Silver city did not. -Just curious if anyone has a remedy to this -Shiras

All I can say is that I hunt with a curve and have been for 7 years. My trophy room via bow is bare. I shot my first buck this year and thought for sure I had him. I made the rookie mistake of coming out of my stand too early, and probably pushed him. (This was an eastern wt) It's something that not a lot of hunters do, simply because of the time and effort it takes to become proficient with a stick. To some it's all about the destination.....to others it's about the journey.-Shiras

Coues trophy for Sale
Shiras replied to hunterofcoues's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I sure hope this guy gets enough out of the mount to buy a grammar book. How many spelling and grammatical errors can someone make in a single add? That alone would deter me. Besides that, I just hate it when the skull plate "crackets in transet" How bad would that suck?-Shiras -
I have a friend of a friend that lives here in NE Oklahoma that writes for bowhunting magazine, hunts via sponsorship on just about everything, and gets to do it 6 months out of the year. Yeah I guess he is probably a pretty danged good bowhunter,- but I'm with az4life. Resources, i.e. "It's not what you know, but who you know " is probably the best chance for finding the proverbial pot o' gold.
