Second chance to pay tag fees for any one who applied online
TAM replied to MT. CAT's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
They made it very clear in the letter they mailed out to those that drew tags. In big capital letters it says: "NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED". To me if someone can't take the responsibility to follow simple directions then they most certainly don't deserve to recieve a greater responsibility of walking around with a loaded gun and shooting animals!!! -
What a freak!!!!! Thanks man.

Way to go on a nice first buck!

Kevin, I'm real happy with the p32. As mentioned the trigger is a tad slower and it's got less megapixls, but it works great. I do try to put it in a spot where the animals will stop, but even when they don't I still get mostly full bodies. I just checked one of them today here's a pic. Sorry the camera wasn't alligned very well in the case, but you get the picture (pun intended).

Chris, it's true! The full blooded Mexican Grey wolf is extinct. What we have left is not a pure line, and therefore the entire experment is a JOKE!!!
-
There aren't any wolves in New Mexico. Just some cur dogs with a few strands of wolf DNA. Mexican grey wolves are extinct.

I like the Pixcontroller boards. I've been able to make a couple for about $200 -$225 depending on how much you spend on the camera. I like to use the Sony P32's. You can buy them used on ebay for about $80. There are very good instructions on the website as well. Good luck and don't be surprised if you get hooked!!!

Draw Results Available Online
TAM replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Well it looks like treestandman and myself drew a couple of 12A west late deer tags!!!! Drew our first choice with only 4 points and got tag #45 to boot. I've got a busy fall lined up with New Mexico antelope in September. A Utah rifle deer tag the third week in October. A Kiabab deer tag in late November. And I'll cap it all off with a Mexico coues deer hunt in January! -
Yep he's looking good. Hopefully his left side will split a g-3!

Everyone here is dead on!!! I just don't think that people realize what is going on with the hiring of illegal workers. Right now it only costs Illegal Pedro $100 to get his FAKE paper work. Once Pedro has these documents he can get a job anywhere and APPEAR to the employer as a LEGAL worker. The employer hires Pedro thinking he's perfectly legit even though he's illegal. Are you with me so far??? So for the employer has not broken any laws. The problem is that when you put together this new database the employeer must call to check on Pedro. The employer performs the check as required by law and discovers that Pedro is not on the list and the employer can't hire him. Pretty cut and dry. The problem now is that over night in Arizona we've just illiminated hundreds of thousands of labor related jobs. Business owners will have to make a decision. Hire someone that is not on the list and run the risk of penalties or not have enough workers to do the job which will ultimatly lead to going out of business. There are simply not enough legal workers to keep Arizona's economy afloat. The only solution to this part of the problem is some sort of guest worker program.

Tony, I'm well aware that the bill came from the conservitives. They're not perfect either. I personally think they played it right into her hands. Pretty much everyone agrees that something has to be done. I don't believe that going after the employers is the solution. Most of the employers are not "knowingly" hiring illegals anyway. The illegals have found ways to get fake documents and social security numbers to look legit. Fake documents only cost an illegal $100 bucks! You can't force the employers to police this issue, that's the governments job. This bill will undoubtedly put legitimate companies out of business and Arizona's economy will face severe inflation as a result. This is just bad legislation that pulls the strings of our over emotional public. I still maintain that for this piece of legislation and all others like it that the first step is to enforce the laws that are already on the books! If those fail to solve the problem then we can create new laws. Arizona has not even made a small effort to enforce the current laws! Ok, perhaps Sherriff Joe has, but that's about it. Simple solutions are almost always better than complex ones.

While Gov. Napalatano's intentions were good, this is not a good piece of legistaltion! It's conquences to Arizona and it's economy could be extremely negative. Even Napalatano pointed out many of is weaknesses and said she signed it to get attention from Washington. All she did was trade one set of problems for another, and in this case that could really hurt our struggling economy. Why do we need more laws??? Why can't we just enforce the laws that we already have on the books??? If you take away the illegals in the Arizona work force today there won't be enough qualified and/or willing workers to get the job done. This will drive up the labor, trucking, farming, produce costs and drasticly inflate the prices for anything related to these industries. Not to mention put a lot of legitimate businesses out of business! This could really hurt Arizona's economy. Sometimes the simple solution is the best one.............. Enforce the laws that are already on the books, but on the other hand I've never known a liberal to turn down an opportunity to make new laws!!!! I agree that something has to be done, but this is not the solution!

My wife used to tell me I watched to many hunting shows. Now I watch the UFC and all the MMA fight shows. She's not happy with that either.

Camera thieves SUCK!
TAM replied to azsagebrush's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Unfortunatly the days of setting trailcameras out on water are long gone. Not only are hunters going out to check water holes for tracks, but I believe they are also checking them out for cameras. DO NOT leave your cameras on water or they will get stolen. Sorry but that's just the way it is. If they can't steal it they will bust it up. -
Any guesses on size?
TAM replied to 105Coues's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I don't see 90 inches? I'll say 86 or 87 inch range. -
I've got a couple of home brew cameras and both of them let me see the pictures right in the field. In fact I can even zoom into the deer's head to see a closer view of its antlers. I just checked one of my cameras yesterday. It was in a new area that I've never scouted before. I had it set over a game trail and didn't really know what to expect. When I got there I was a little disapointed to see there were only 9 pictures and I figured that I would probably take it back with me. After looking at the pictures in the field I changed my mind and left the camera there. There weren't any pic's of monsters, but there was enough that I'd like to give it another round. To me being able to see the pictures in the field is a huge benefit!

I agree on the elk pic's being aggrivating at times. Now if a guy could get a bull tag every year I'd probably feel differently.

Actually the fight between Grey Maynard and Rob Emerson was called a no contest because neither fighter was able to continue. Grey was going to win that fight had he not knocked himself out!!! The Manny and Nate fight was another crazy conclusion. Manny pretty much handled Nate for the entire fight before he hurt his shoulder shooting in for a take down on Nate. I think Manny was on his way to winning the fight, too bad for him. BJ just worked over Jens. He is just techically a much better fighter. I was glad to see him win and that after the fight they could stop with all the trash talking hype!
-
Yep! I think it's gonna be a dandy tonight. I'm not a huge fan of Jens but I think he's got BJ's number and knows how to get inside his head. I think BJ's fighting like he has to win, and I think Jens is fighting like he's got nothing to loose. I'm calling it for Jens. Not a fan of Nate Diaz either and I've been pulling for Manny for the entire series. Nate is probably a more rounded fighter. He stand up is good and his ground game is even better but I don't like his attitude and I'm hoping Manny catches him. I kind of like cheering for the underdog.

Treestandman and I both drew rifle antelope tags. I just hope we get assigned to a good ranch.
-
Can anyone tell me the dates for ANT-1-106 please? I can't get onto the website to see for myself. Tim
-
I just checked my card and nothing. BUT............ I'm on the same application as Treestandman, so if he got hit it then it looks like we got drawn for antelope.

Nice deer! I think a lot of the differences have to do with the time of year when the deer were harvested. Late season deer will have thicker necks, faces, and bodies than early season deer. Also the coloration will be different at different times of the year.
