  1. Bill I agree with you 100%!! We should always try to mind our P's and Q's expecially around those that aren't "anti" but aren't "hunters" either. I think Ted's shock value appeals to both hunters and gun owners but fails miserably at giving us any kind of positive image that someone with a more netural opinion might listen to. However, that doesn't mean that Uncle Ted can't be right on with many of his political views. His message is good but his delivery in many cases is very poor.
  2. Wow I wish High School was that easy. I only got one wrong answer. McCain for me too!
  3. "I don't like repeat offenders, I like dead offenders!..... Am I weird?" "The second ammendment is my concealed weapons permit!" How can a person argue with that? AMEN!
  4. SBD the Snopes explinations are spotty at best and don't directly answer many of our questions. For example: Snopes says that he is not a "Radical Muslim". The fact is that his has Muslim ties, went to a Muslim school, has a Muslim father, says himself that he was once a Muslim. So the real question is just how "radical" his views are? We know that his Pastor of 20 years has some pretty radical views (GD America... What's up with that?), and numerous other facts that BO has ties with other people and orginizations with radical views. Not to mention he ONLY left his church after the negative public outcry! Why couldn't he stand up for himself and leave on his own without doing it for the sole reason to look good to the voters? For what it's worth, I'd stand up and walk out if I was in the congragation of a church where a pastor was screaming "GD America" from the pulpit! It wouldn't take any public outcry for me to recognize that I don't want to part of a church with a pastor with such radical views against my country! I've met some pretty good Muslims in my life and don't think I have as much a problem with BO being associated with the religion as I do the "Radical" part. A radical person in any religion can be a scary thing, let alone the Muslim religion. It seems to me that Snopes is not 100 percent accurate in what information they are reporting. Lots of twisted facts! People can't be duped into letting BO or Snopes or anyone do all the thinking for them! People must learn to think for themselves! The phrase "Don't drink the Kool-Aid" comes to mind. Perhaps you could answer this one in paticular, and preferably with your own words and not a link to Snopes. Why can BO get away with saying "typical white person"? What do you think would happen if McCain said "typical black person". I think he'd get slammed by the press. What do you think, and why is there such a double standard?

    taxidermy

Yes you could post some pictures, but from my experience pictures don't really tell the story. I've seen some really good mounts look bad and vise versa. I think lighting has a lot to do with it.
  6. With all sincerity I would like it if SBD or any other BO supporters would watch that video start to finish and attempt to dispell even one or two of the "Facts" presented in the video. Will someone please step forward and explain how they can see past these serious character flaws and still feel comfortable voting for BO? Perhaps these facts are rumor? Untrue? Emblished? Misunderstood? Somebody please explain? Thank you!
  7. Ruffcountry, I appreciate your opinion, but if we do in fact "kill the bill", then what solution to you suggest? I'm really only hearing about two different avenues in the press. The bail out solution, and doing nothing at all. Seems like doing nothing will be like playing russian roulette with five bullets instead of one. I don't like the Government being involved in the private sector, but I'm still waiting for someone to show me a better idea? Doing nothing at all is a very bad idea!!! What other options are there???
  8. I know who Ron Paul is and I know he's a Republican. He ran a valiant campain in the primarys and brought Americas attention to many good ideas. Perhaps his stance and ideals will gain some momentum from this campaign and He or someone with his ideals will fare better next time. The fact is that he is out of this election and I will vote for the person on the ticket that I have the most in common with. I didn't vote for McCain in the primarys, so he's not my first choice either. In fact I can't even say he was my second choice. The fact still remains that at this point in the election a vote for anyone other than a McCain is a vote for BO! I agree that America needs a paradigm shift in government, but that really needs to happen in the primarys first.
  9. That all sounds real good, but unfortuneatly no one from this party is on the ticket! I only get one vote and I want to make it count.

    Same Sex Marriage

    1. stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own. You posted it, not us.... In our opinion homosexuality is wrong and in your opinion christianaty is wrong woldn't that make us all bigots? "And no I don't care for figure skating." so by your posted defination you're a bigot? After all that's your opinion? Sounds like you get an opinion when it's convienent for you, but if the rest of us have an opinion we're bigots? Perhaps if we word our opinion like you word yours we'll be ok?........ And no I don't care for homosexuals. Does that sound better? Sounds like word games to me.

    Same Sex Marriage

Again I say WOW! That's a pretty B R O A D defination of bigotry. In fact by that defination no one with an opinion would be excluded from being a bigot??? So just because you prefer to watch figure skating on Sunday afternoon and I like the NFL now you're labeling me a biggot???? Biggots are people haters plain and simple. Disapproval of a persons actions is a huge difference. Being Christian and believing that homosexuality goes against the teachings of God is a far cry from bigotry!

    Same Sex Marriage

So what about the religious freedoms of non christians? Or do you simply say/imply; F! non-christians? Constitutions guarantee rights not take them away. People like to make this issue about "the sanctity of marriage" and the meaning of the word. Puh-LEASE! This is all about money. Christians don't want THEIR tax dollars funding something THEIR religion doesn't condone. However a person regardless of sexual orientation color or religion should be able to choose whomever they please as the recipient of their benefits. ll of the arguements made so far are weak based entirely on faith and opinion. You could substitute the word black or hindu with every gay or homosexual reference and see how silly this arguement is. This amendment proposition simply furthers the image of Christian egocentricism. This blatant bigotry is why I rejected Christianity. Hate everyone who is not Christian and despise those not of the same denomination. Hmmm a religion that pushes hatred and calls it tolerance and if you're a good little hater you get a prize after you die. WOW... I guess I'd like to know which so called Christian churches are preaching hatred and bigotry? Seems to me there is quite a difference between hating a person and hating an action? What say you Mr. Smith? I don't think Christians are so much concerned with how there tax dollars are spent as much as they are concerned that Uncle Sam will be telling them they have to believe/act a certain way or loose there tax exempt status. I think groups like the Boy Scouts are concerned that they will be forced to embrace ideas that go against the things they stand for. I think orginizations like foster care and adoption agencies will be forced to place children in homes that don't have the type of values they are looking for. I fail to see the hatred or bigotry in any of those positions.
  13. Does the story of Slick Willy and Ms. Lewinsky come to mind? Hopefully that will jog your memory... I'd sure hate to have to go into details.

Lark it seems to me I heard awhile back something about needing a permit or something to put out cameras on National Forest. More of a technicality than anything.

    Same Sex Marriage

Other than the men that are involved in this practice, who or what group of people are saying they have no problem with it? Or perhaps you're just suggesting that our Governments lack of any real action regarding the matter is suggesting it's ok?

Because it's California thats why! It's not a democracy or majority rules state. It's a who has the best lawyer state! If you've got enough money you get what you want in California. Unfortunatly what California does the rest of the stupid blind sheep in this nation are soon to follow. I say if the people vote for it, then it automaticly becomes law! YES TO 102! Stop letting the minority screw things up for the rest of us! (pun intended)
  21. SBD you may not be worried about loosing your gun rights, but you almost did! They're under attack every day! All it would have taken was one vote to go the other way and "your" gun rights would have been flushed down the toilet. How sure are you that your gun rights will be upheld after BO appoints another justice or two? How many of you have ever benefited from civil rights? women's rights? social security or unemployment insurance? medicare or medicaid? Are any/all of these things fundamentally wrong? I can honestly say that I've never benefited from any of these. In fact I can honestly say that I've lost jobs due to civil rights and womens rights. I'm paying a lot of money to Social Security that I'll never see any benefits from. I've never collected unemployment insurance, but I know millions are living off our welfare system costing honest tax payers and workers a lot of money, and I'm not old enough to collect medicare or medicaid but like SS this program will probably not be around when I'm old enough to start collecting. Yes I think the above mentioned programs are fundamently wrong. The system is broke and BO aint going to fix it he's just going to add more fuel to the fire.
  22. I got this in an email today. Thought I'd share.
  23. I believe there are a few here that will be writing in a name which effectivly is a vote for BO.

    Eotech on an AR platform

Yep, I can eaisly go two hundred with it. Eventually I'll get an AR-15 and put it on that and put a different scope on the .308 which will allow me to take advantage of its longer range capeabilities. I think it's about perfect for a 223/556, but does limit me to shorter ranges with the 308.

    Antelope hunt

The story of Gregs buck..... Due to a busy work schedule Greg didn't leave town at the same time as us and didn't get to do any scouting the day before the hunt. As the rest of us were scouting about mid day we glassed an area that was right on the edge of our ranch and the area was loaded with antelope! As we're looking at this group of antelope just across the ranch border Russ says "thats the largest cutter I've ever seen... It's huge!" Well after a little closer evaluation we determined that it wasn't the antelope's cutter, it was his horn sticking out the side of his head instead of the top like a normal goat. The problem was that this goat was a mile or so off our ranch. Later that day I called Greg and told him that we found a real "Freak" and Greg immediatly said "I want him". Once Greg arrived and the actual hunt started Greg passed up some nice goats because he really wanted the Freak. On the afternoon of the first day I headed out with Greg to an area about two miles to the west of where we had seen the Freak overlooking some draws where we had also seen another large buck. After finding a large herd and looking over one potential shooter and passing we decided to move up the road. As we were moving along we came across the large buck from the day before that was massive and had prongs that flared out to the side. he was a shooter for sure! Greg hurried up for a shot and missed clean. As we were looking for any sign of a hit we saw him off to the east so we followed in hot persuit. Just as we crested the ridge where we had last seen him we saw a single buck feeding in the bottom and we were sure it was him. Greg put up his bino's and said "I think it's the Freak?" one quick glance from my spotter and I confirmed it was in fact the Freak! Greg immediatly sat down and got ready to shoot off his bi-pod but the grass was to tall to shoot from the sitting position so we set up my tripod and used the Outdoorsmans pistol grip as a gun rest so Greg could stand and shoot. As soon as the buck turned broadside Greg let the 190 VLD rip from his 300 RUM and the buck was his. Once again the Berger VLD's worked there magic with a bullet sized entrance hole and nothing but soup on the inside. Greg is the owner of Trails End Taxidermy in Gilbert and was so happy with his Freak buck that he decided to mount it lifesize. Congrats to Greg on a real cool looking animal.
