This all just seems to be right in line with our new form of Government in this country. It costs a lot more money to run big government. Half the reason we currently have such large budget shortfalls in government agencies is that we expanded them to much during the good economic times. Now that we have contraction the agencies are to large to operate without siginificant cut backs or changes in fee structures (taxes). ... Here comes your change!

Here's another free one that I like. http://www.biggameinfo.com/BalCalc.aspx Best of the West has a good one as well. http://www.thebestofthewest.net/ballistics-compensator.html

Parachute cord or zip ties work pretty good.

Just to clarify my previous post. I didn't mean to insinuate that you or anyone else was breaking the law. I was just trying to identify my understanding of the law. I think you did the noble thing by letting her keep the buck. However, I've also seen a situation where two friends are hunting and one guy shoots and wounds a buck. The other friend who was nearby sees the wounded buck and finishes it off. When they both get to the deer, which isn't very big, they both think the other guy should tag it. This has always been an interesting topic, because most hunters seem to live by the rule that "if you draw first blood it's your deer". But on the flip side of that the law says something totally different.

I believe the law states that the person who kills the deer is supposed to tag the deer. If your shot killed the buck the way I understand the law you are required to tag it. I never understood why anyone would want a buck that someone else killed anyway?

Well with my 777 i have to clean between every shot. Wow i have heard rumors about the stuff. It is really true? Is the velocity on the bullet the same as 777. Oh yea two pounds of 777 loose for sale! Bob No BS on the cleaning stuff I don't even run a dry patch through it between shots. Not only is it easier to load after a few shots, but the groups seem to tighten up after three or four shots as well. I'm not sure about the velocities since I haven't shot through my chrono yet. For what it's worth my best groups have come with 110 grains BH209 pushing a 290 grain Barnes TEZ. Like I said, I'm just a rookie with this stuff. I'm just letting you guys know what my experience has been.

Sierra Club wants lion tag to auction
TAM replied to billrquimby's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Still not sure why they need the tag? Seems to me as long as the houndsman has a tag (which most do) they should be ok running the lion... right? Houndsman do this sort of thing all the time to train their dogs. As long as they have a valid tag they can persue a lion without the intent of killing it. Why would the Sierra Club person even need a tag if they aren't planning on killing the lion? -
As most of you know I am also a rookie to muzzleloader hunting. I bought a new TC Encore Pro Hunter and have been using the Blackhorn 209 powder with great results. It has been very accurate so far, but the best attribute of it is the fact that I don't have to clean the barrel between shots. In fact it seems to get easier to load the bullets the more fouled the barrel is. I've shot as many as a dozen bullets through it without cleaning... try doing that with T7 or anything else!

I bought the $100 package today as well. Amanda since I won't be at the banquet to accept my prize in person please be sure to post the results. I'm kinda hoping for that Alberta hunt... always wanted to kill one of those big maple leaf bucks.

What the heck are they talking about?

The real key point here is that Arizona is already an OPEN CARRY state. That means that pretty much anyone can cary a gun in public as long as it's not concealed. No registration, no classes, no back ground check. Buy a gun and strap it on your belt. So in effect, our current CCW laws are not keeping any law abiding citizen from their 2nd Ammendment rights to bear arms. If Arizona were not already an open carry state I would be all for removing our current CCW laws, or making it an open carry state so that no one was denied the right to bear arms. In other words... everyone should be allowed to at least open carry without taking a class, registration, back ground check, etc. I think that for most people, including myself, the 8 hours spent in class is time and money well spent! -
Biggest Waste of Human time and resources known to man

I would like to have a survey of PETA followers conducted. I would really like to know how many of the card carrying members of PETA are also Pro Choice? I'll bet the numbers would be shocking. This fly story is so stupid it makes me laugh! Just proves to me that PETA people are a wast of space on this planet. -
Are cross bred snakes sterile or can they reproduce?

Don't the Rino's have a limited range that they are capeable of working within? Wouldn't you have to be within that operating range with your Rino turned on at the same time the rotten thief turned his on? Kinda sounds like a long shot to me

Sorry about your loss. I've had 4 stolen and two vandalized over the years so I feel your pain. I just wanted to comment on locking up your cameras in the future. Locking your camera will do nothing but give you a false sense of security. It will keep honest folks honest, but if a scum bag thief wants your camera he's gonna get it. The best thing you can do to protect your cameras is to put them where no one will find them. Good luck!

Got a couple pic's of Sasquatch if that's what you're talking about... only females though You need to stay on your side of the mountain Gino!

Yep, you probably can. I was surprised how many bucks would hit that thing! Had my camera there for two months, two summers ago and had quite a few small bucks hitting it on a regular basis. If a guy weren't very picky I'll bet he could fill his archery tag there without too much trouble. I haven't been back there since I pulled the camera two years ago.

Only small bucks and does...

Ok! Ok! I can't take any more of the mental anguish. The sleepless nights and horrifying nightmares of being hunted down like a animal and murdered for being a lowlife trail camera stealing thug. I confess!!!! It was me and my accomplice Shorty! To proove it I will post the last picture the camera took before we chopped the lock and boosted the camera. I wish I could have returned the camera with a note of apology like you asked, but Shorty sold it on the black market for a couple packs of baseball cards and Duncan yo-yo. I wanted to say something sooner but Shorty has a real nasty temper and I didn't want to cross him. Please accept my most sincere apologies and let me know if there is anything I can do to repay you!

I own a Ziess Conquest, Nikon Monarch, and a Vortex Viper scope. The Ziess is better glass, but also nearly twice as much money. The Nikon and Vortex are similar quality, but the Vortex has an awesome warranty. If the money isn't a factor go with the Ziess Conquest. If you're trying to stay within a budget take a close look at the Vortex Viper line. Just my .02
