I recently used the same smith in Strawberry as Mike is referring to on my TC Encore Pro Hunter. It is now one of the best triggers I own. 2 1/4 lbs, crisp, with no creep. It's seriously worth the drive!

... Or find out that I drew a Desert Bighorn Sheep tag today! Thanks guys!!!!

You may want to contact Swampy over at JLK Bullets. I'm not sure if they've got them in stock, but they are nearly an exact match to the Bergers only with a higher BC. They're even manufactured using the same process and same J4 Percision jackets. Just a thought if you're getting desperate. http://www.swampworks.com/jlk/

So I went out looking at antelope tonight with Schmitty and two of my boys. Schmitty brings his gun along in case we see a coyote... which we usually do. I'm glassing looking for one of the bucks I've been watching when I glass up this coyote laying on the bank of a dry wash right next to it's den. Long story short Schmitty gets set up as I get my spotting scope set up and range her at 371 yards. The gun goes boom, the dog does a back flip, and my boys cheer and go running out to retrieve the prize. I couldn't stop laughing when this is what they brought back! It's either a dwarf or about 8 weeks old. We knew it was immature when he shot it, but we at least thought it would be bigger than a jack rabbit. None the less my boys thought it was the coolest thing in the world!!! Not too bad for 371 yards.

I think a lot of people are getting to the point where they just don't care anymore because no one is listening anyway. Sad and Scary all at the same time.
-
I've missed them at lots of different ranges. Close... Far... and everywhere in between.

AMEN!!! BTW, I saw your antelope horns at Dan's place the other day.... Very nice

My AR500 plate has holes in it to attach it to a chain so it doesn't need to be welded. I just dropped it off at my buddys place yesterday. He's going to weld up a frame from angle iron to hang it from. I can't wait to see how it works. You can buy the plates pre-cut off ebay. They have different sizes, and even AR550 and AR600 steel.
-
Hey Dennis what kind of steel is that GONG made from??? I just got a 10 inch diameter, 3/8" AR500 steel gong. I'm having a frame welded up for it right now. Just wondering how well it will hold up for the 300 RUM? I don't plan on shooting it any closer than about 500 yards.

+1 Almost any of the broad heads on the market are more than enough to do the trick. Especially on deer sized animals. Accuracy is way more important!!!! If it won't fly straight you won't kill it. Find what shoots straight for your set up and forget about all the hype! Good luck

If these two don't count as "Other Big Game" I don't know what does? Who's your pick? What round? Submission or KO? I'm gonna say Lesnar puts Mir on the mat and pounds on him till the ref stops it in round two. I'm really torn with this one... I'd really like to see them both win for different reasons. I just hope it's a great fight to watch.

The only problem with Dan's second hit was that he admitted to Joe Rogan that he knew Bisping was out and that he gave him the second one just to shut him up. If he wouldn't of said anything I don't think Dana would have said anything either. I actually agree with Dana. He has worked hard to keep a shiny image for the UFC. If poor sportsmanship and cheap shots are smiled upon then it will drag the sport down.
-
To his credit, the crowd was booing him for no reason. Did I miss something? He destroyed Mir and got "boo" for it?????????????? The crowd was booing him probably because when asked to shake hands with Mir at the start of the fight Mir held out his hands in a show of sportsmanship and class, and Lesnar just turned and walked to his corner. I think the fans in this sport have a lot of respect for sportsmanship.
-
I just wanted to quote myself on the Lesnar - Mir fight! Too bad Lesnar showed ZERO sportsmanship before or after the fight. Whoever called him a "Tool" is right on. The Henderson KO was one of the best I've ever seen and It couldn't have been given to a more deserving person. It will be interesting to see what kind of damage Bisping suffers.... broken jaw? Concussion? That looked pretty brutal and It took him a long time to wake up. As much as I don't like GSP, he completley neutralized Thiago and worked him pretty good.

Nope, that's Kade He'll be 9 in August and his brother Connor who's 7. We've got three boys and 1 girl. Yep... Craig aka Schmitty.
-
Blake, I think we'll end up going down to Phoenix to my wife's brothers house to have a BBQ and watch the fitght. We'll have to get together for one of them in the future. I like Mir too, but I just don't think he'll beat Lesnar again.

I'm pretty sure Silvia doesn't even have a UFC contract anymore. He's really gone from champ to chump!
-
..... And Barry Bonds didn't know his trainer was giving him steroids, or Sammy Sosa didn't know that someone switched out his corked batting practice bat with his game bat. At the end of the day who is the final person that has to make sure they are playing by the rules? He may have good work ethic, but his ethics seem to be lacking in other areas. No big deal... Like I said before he just reminds me to much of Jean Claude Van Dame anyway No doubt he's a great fighter, just not my favorite. I think those of you that think a fighter should have to pay his dues before wearing a belt have a very valid point. I also think that in the case of Brock Lesnar that early on in the contract negotiations Lesnar insisted on fighting top ranked fighters. I think the UFC was scrambling trying to find a poster boy heavyweight fighter to fill the shoes of the recently fallen Tim Silvia who was never really favored by the fans at all. He was boo'd more than cheered and was not all that fun to watch (unless you're talking about when Frank Mir snapped his forearm). The UFC finally got sick of Tim Silvia not drawing a crowd so they get crowd favorite Randy Coture to go de-throne him. Not even the UFC expected Coture to keep the belt for very long, they just wanted Silvia gone. Long story short.... Lesnar's timing was perfect. His size was perfect. And so far he seems to fit the poster boy fan favorite the UFC was hoping for in a heavyweight...... Now that is $$$ CHANGE $$$ that the UFC can believe in

Go Tiago what is this GSP is the best in the World. I've liked him eversince the first time I saw him fight. I knew he'd be where hes at today. GO GSP. Now I hate to disagree but one thing I think we might be able to agree on is that Michael Bisping needs a beat down. Sorry man but GSP reminds me of Jean Claude Van Dame!

Does anyone know if my Thompson Encore Pro Hunter muzzle loader that I just bought will accept a 12" or 15" Encore pistol barrel? Are all the Encore stocks, grips, and barrels pretty much interchangable?
-
Thank you, that's exactly what I needed to know.

I've owned a bunch of different cams over the years, including the home brews. For my money I'd go with the DLC Covert II. It's a great little unit, with good battery life, LED's , pic's or video, and great picture quality. Good luck!

Who cares what area you're in... at least you've got a tag in your pocket and you're hunting... right? I say shoot the first 105 or better buck you see.

Interesting Conclusion
TAM replied to Browning'sCustomMeat's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I think the point here is that Washington DC has an extremely high death rate due to gun violence and also has some of the most strict gun laws in the country. Proof that tough gun laws don't equal safer citys. -
What part of the state was the dead wolf found?
