  1. I think exercising our rights is like exercising our bodies. If we don't exercies our rights or our bodies we will loose our strength and any progress we have made. To those that don't believe BO has attacked our gun rights... Nearly every person he has put on his staff is anti gun. This is like saying Russia has surrounded the US coast line with ships and submarines carrying nucular weapons, but they haven't fired any shots so we will just stand by and wait for them to throw the first punch. Gun owners can't afford to sit and wait for BO to make a direct attack on our gun rights. We must let our voices be heard... NOW! The media is ALWAYS going to portray guns in a negative light. We need to stop worrying about what the media or wacked out leftist liberals are going to think. As long as our protests/demonstrations are legal and peaceful then we will come out ahead in the long run.
  2. This man had the legal right to do what he did. This man was well behaved. No viloence occored as a result of this man exercising his rights. No arrests or citations occured as a result of this man exercising his rights. The President and general public were never in ANY danger as a result of this man exercising his rights. Some people carry a sign with a catchy bumper sticker slogan to express their opinions and some people carry a gun as a sign of their opinions. Both are legal rights. This man did nothing more than exercise his rights. GOOD FOR HIM!!! Some of you are nothing more than hyprocrates that say you want to protect our gun rights, but as soon as a law abiding citizen exercises them you slam them for it.
  3. Here is a link to a current NBC poll that is taking place regarding the question if "In God We Trust" should be removed from our US currency due to seperation of church and state laws. It's worded kind of backwards so read it twice before you vote. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10103521/
  4. Sorry, after a second look it is pretty straight forward. The email I got about the poll was worded so that before I even saw the question I was thinking "yes" they should leave "In God we trust" on our currency, but the question was worded "should it be taken out. I just have a confused mind thats all. I know there is nothing scientific about this poll and I highly doubt any of our leaders will put any weight in it, but perhaps there is a small chance that somewhere there is a leader that hears the voice of the people. This country needs all of Gods help it can get right now!!!
  5. Unfortunatley it's not about right and wrong anymore, it's all about calculated risks. The reason most people don't rob banks is because there is a pretty good chance you will get caught (high risk). With trail cameras there is very little to no chance you will get caught (low risk). I have a Moultrie that has a password protection on it. But even with a password I think they will continue to be stolen by others for the content of the memory cards.

    loose or pellets?

I shot a .685 group at 100 yards today using the 260 grain Dead Centers over 110 grains of BH209. Pretty sure that's what I'm going to use for my antelope hunt next month. Now I just need to do a little long range work to see how they drop out to 300.
  7. And that is a perfect example of what the mainstream media is trying to do to the American People. They are trying to cloud good judgement with flawed reasoning. Someone needs to slap the stupid out of that lady!!!

    Anyone in my hood?

Yep it's a small world. We just needed a bigger house. No problems with the neighborhood or schools. We really liked the area and our neighbors. We haven't lived there for about six years, so things may have changed since we left. Good luck!

  10. 210 grain JLK's 92 grains Retumbo 3.73 OAL Fed 215 primers 1/4 inch at 100 yards I haven't chrono'd this load yet but I suspect it will be 3100 fps + or - I'm shooting a custom built by Todd Bettin.

    Anyone in my hood?

That's funny... I used to live on that street. 9428 was our address.

Gino, funny you should ask. A little over a year ago I was driving east through Star Valley right at dusk when this bright light flashes and scares the piss out of me. I know right away that I'm caught. I even called my wife and told her. I waited and waited to get my picture in the mail. Now it's been over a year and still no picture. Oh well, lucky me I guess For what it's worth I think Star Valley is one of those small towns that likes to make money off those out of towners with lead in their shoes. Be ware!

    loose or pellets?

I went to the range today and it was closed for maintenance Nice groups with the muzzy! My experience with the Barnes is that they are just harder to load. Also remember that usually TC's have pretty tight bore's. I found the Dead Center 260's to be quite a bit easier to load than the barnes.
  16. +3, kinda funny you metion this load, I myself and 2 other friends use this same load, Federal 215M's, 92 grains of Retumbo with 210 Berger VLD's. Very very accurate in our three rifles!!! I tried the scirocco and had no luck, but will try that RL22, thanks for the info!!! Same deal for me and another buddy of mine. I would guess that this is one of the most popular loads for 300 RUM shooters. For those of you shooting the 210 Bergers you should give the 210 JLK Long Tails a try. Very accurate with a higher BC. Good luck!
  17. I have shot the 260 Dead Centers from my Encore with 100 grains of BH209 and they fly great. 2.25 inch groups at 200 yards. Never killed anything with them. Good luck!

    Will we ever see it?

Yep, I think it's going to fall...... Perhaps even twice!

    Long range shooting

That's my only problem with the Edge or I'd own one. It's just not practical (IMO) to pack into the field. My scoped 300 RUM with a 28 inch barrel only weighs 8 and change.
  20. It could also be there is some back log with the manufacturers trying to re-supply the market. Perhaps they can't make the stuff fast enough to re-supply all the empty shelves and keep up with the current demand?

If you are asking about a Christensen Arms rifle, I would say there are a lot of better places to spend your money. I own a custom built by the guys at Christensen Arms and it's somewhat disapointing. Way over hyped in my opinion. It's a nice rifle, and after a ton of time at the loading bench I've finally developed a load that shoots half inch groups. For the same, if not less, money you can have a custom gunsmith build you a rifle from the ground up exactly the way you want it. Not just some cookie cutter rifle with a TV show and lots of hype. A true custom rifle built for you If you really want to buy a rifle from a custom rifle company then in my opinion Gunwerks is probably one of the better ones. But I still think for less money you can have a gunsmith build you a better rifle.

    Long range shooting

As already mentioned there are a lot of high quality gunsmiths across the country that make some fantastic rifles. I had a gunsmith named Todd Bettin out of Iowa build me a custom 300 RUM that I just got back in January. I couldn't be happier with the results. 1/4 inch groups at 100 yards all day long. He's a nice guy and very easy to talk to. Here's a link to his site. http://bettincustomguns.com/ You should probably get on the phone with a gunsmith or two and discuss with them what you are trying to accomplish and what your budget is. They should be able to identify what your needs and wants are and build a rifle that will accomplish that. They're going to ask you questions about stuff that you never even thought there were options for. Good luck!
