It looks like Amanda and I will be putting together the first ever Coueswhitetail.com big bull contest! We are currently discussing the rules and details. At this point it will be very similar to the big buck contest the site has sponsored for the last couple years. For now nothing is set in stone so feel free to post up or private message me with any ideas or suggestions you have. So who else is interested? Stay tuned for more information!

I'm in for a coueswhitetail.com big bull contest! Who's going to be in charge and what are the rules? That White Mountain Elk contest looks great, it's just in the wrong part of the state! What other big bull contests are out there?

That is an awesome looking camera and with the new added features it should work great in the field!

Perhaps bears don't hunt down many adult deer, but they sure love to eat fawns.

Looks good Blake! I think you need to add a bear up there next

Suggestions when traveling to Mexico
TAM replied to Ernesto C's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
I will also be going down again this year just as I have the last 4 years and just like every other year... I can't wait. Thanks for the advise Ernesto!!! My advise is don't bring back your buddies ice chest full of apples! -
Thanks guys... I could have never done it without the help of my Swahili Tracker pictured below!!! Jay - It was nice to meet you after the Deer Daze Seminar last week. I was one of the guys that was talking with you, Ryan, Jim, and Phil outside in the breezeway just after the seminar. Perhaps next year you'll be giving the presentation. I'd love to hear some of your stories and see some of your pictures and video's.

Thanks... last year on the rifle hunt.

Ditto what Red Rabbit said. I used Tommy's services last year for the Burro's and it took all of 15 or 20 minutes on the first morning to shoot this buck. I'm sure there was a little luck was involved, but this buck was EXACTLY where Tommy told us to go look. We also used Tommy the year before last on a Burro Mountain coues deer hunt and saw several nice bucks as well. It was money well spent!!!

My wife and I had a great time as well. I have to agree with Phil that the Deer Daze Seminar was pretty cool. Ryan Hatch was the speaker and during his presentation he must have said 5 or 6 times that if you want to kill a giant buck you'll have to pass on bucks that make your stomach sick. He had a slide show with pictures of some of the bucks that he and his hunters have passed over the years and it made my stomach sick! It was good to see everyone and meet some of you for the first time. Thanks!

I don't think it is un-ethical or disrespectful at all to set up your camera on a tank that already has another camera or a tree stand on it. Just because someone else is scouting out the same area doesn't mean they will hunt one single day in that spot. Hang your camera but keep your options open and be prepared to get up early opening morning come opening day. Be warned that putting a camera on a waterhole is the fastest way to loose it!!!

Looks like a petting zoo!

I recently put a new sight on my bow so I headed to the range tonight to get it dialed in and to get a little practice in for my up coming bull elk hunt. I've been shooting a bow for about 21 years now and at 50 yards I finally Robin Hooded an arrow!!! I've busted lots of nocks in my time but never split an arrow... it's about freaking time! Maybe it was the hat???

In situations like this I think you have to ask yourself... "what would Ted Nugent do?" Going back to school the next day sporting your red, white, and blue is the perfect answer!!! WAY TO GO CALI BOYS!!!

So it's ok for Sarver and the Los Suns to voice their opinion, but somehow I am a bad guy for voicing mine??? How backwards is that? Everyone in this country has their freedom of speech, but that doesn't mean there aren't consequences. Remember the Dixie Chicks? Sometimes people exercise their freedom of speech with their voices and sometimes they do it with their wallets. It's all the same. And for what it is worth I don't like Obama's Politics so I will boycott him by casting my vote for someone else.
-
I never thought I'd say it, but after this I actually think that Bill Bidwell is the second worst franchise owner in all of professional sports. Good riddance to the Los Suns!!!
-
Nice cat Randy! And thanks for letting him live to see another day... perhaps he'll live aonther year or two so my son Kade can chase him when he's old enough to keep up with the dogs

Kind of pricey, but this new rest from Schaffer may offer the best of both worlds... full containment combined with drop away... sort of.

I love listening to the KE guys and the Speed guys battle it out Kind of reminds me of the TDS guys verses the Click guys on the long range discussions. Who's right and who's wrong??? Any way you look at it there are always pro's and con's with the set up you will choose. There may not be one perfect hunting rig, but there are always some that will suit you and your style of hunting better than others. I for one like speed! I'm flinging a 363 grain arrow at about 330 feet per second and generating nearly 88 foot pounds of Kenetic Energy. To me the advantage with this set up is that it is very flat shooting and affords me more margin for yardage errors. Even at longer distances the arrow still maintains more than enough KE to kill elk sized animals. JMO... to each his own I guess

Why do people keep saying to go after the businesses? Why should we turn the businesses into the police? It's not my job to sort through all the fake ID's and SS#'s. I've even E-Verified people that have come back clean only to have the police show up at my door telling me they are illegal. It's not my responsibility to do the Fed's job so they can look the other way and get re-elected. Don't get me wrong... this is a huge problem that needs to be stopped, but going after the businesses should be the LAST RESORT after the Fed's have done their part to secure the borders. And for that matter once the Fed's have secured the borders why single out the businesses? The land lords, banks, mortgage companies, utility companies, and anyone else that provides a service should also be required to have proper documentation before conducting business with anyone! It would just sit a lot better with me if the Feds were doing everything possible to stop the problem before they make it my job to do it for them! Don't forget jobs aren't the only thing they come here for... ENTITLEMENTS!!! Welfare, health care, section 8 housing, food stamps, free education with a free bus ride and a free lunch to boot. Good heck, we even give them free water so they don't die in the desert when they jump the border! And the politicians want to make the laws more strict about businesses hiring illegals? I think they should take a long look in the mirror... like I said there is a long list of new rules to put in play before we should be going after the small businesses in America!

No problem... PM returned.

Didn't mean to insult your Chevy I was just guessing since you passed us and I didn't notice the sticker until you were quite a bit in front of us. My bad!

Saw a black Ford truck last night east bound between Dewey and Mayer. The CWT sticker was across the back bumper and there was also a NOCAL sticker in the lower drivers side rear window. Who was it?
