I bought a J34 and was very unhappy with the fact that the zippers on the side pockets are not long enough to allow a full size spotting scope or full size tripod to fit in the side pockets. The pockets are plenty long enough but because of the short zipper length I couldn't get either to go inside the pocket. I never cut the tags off the pack and sold it and purchased an Outdoorsman pack that works perfectly for my needs.

4 tickets here... two for my wife and I, and two for Josh Epperson and his wife. Let me know when and where to send the money??? Thanks, Tim

Can you find your sticker in this video??
TAM replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Sticker Sightings!
Cool video Amanda! Here's a sticker I just put on my '78 CJ5. -
I just bought points for everything. I've got 9 for Mtn Goat and 8 for LE Deer going into this years draw. I know I'm going to get a couple tags in other states this fall and there just wouldn't be any time to go to Utah if by some streak of luck I were to pull a tag.

It's probably a 258ci which is the same as mine. They're great motors with plenty of low end torque to get you through the rough stuff. Perhaps it's time to dust it off and hit the hills... spring is coming fast!

Yep, been using that loophole for a few years now. I wish I would have seen this topic before I spent my $65 on a new license! Oh well... now I'm good for this year and next year. Thanks for the tip!

o may know of one are you looking for just a stock one or one thats been worked on? i dont memeber wat he said he was selling it for but i can find out. I used to own a 1997 Jeep Cherokee and it was the best vehicles I've ever owned! I traded it in with 197,000 miles on it and it was still running strong. Even for being a bone stock 4.0 liter straight 6 it would pretty much take me anywhere off the beaten path that I wanted to go. I wish I had kept it and turned it into a hunting rig. I now own a 1978 CJ5 and it will take me places that makes my butt pucker just thinking about it... I love Jeeps!!! Good luck!

I shot a coues buck last year at 198 yards with my .300 rum and a 210 grain bullet. Wasn't a mess at all, just a perfect, quick, clean kill. If a .300 is too much then step it down to a 6.5-284. It's probably one of the most accurate cartridges on the planet. With a high BC bullet a good rifleman could reach out to 800 yards plus. There is also the tried and true 7mm Remington Mag or even the 7mm RUM. They've got some real high BC bullets available as well. How about stepping it up from the .300 RUM??? Take a look at the ballistics on the .338's (Edge, Lapua, Snipe tac). What ever caliber you choose, when it comes to long range stuff it's all about a high BC. I like JLK's and Bergers myself.

Slow down and give your eyes time to look around! No need to try and keep up, just keep moving at your own pace and don't try to make a race out of it.

So I guess you didn't get the response you had hoped for over on the Monster Muleys site so now your going to bring your BS over here? How is this "taking one for the team"? What you're doing is like the quarterback telling his o-linemen that they're all too fat! You're not taking one for the team you're telling the team to pound sand! Kind of makes me wonder what team you're on anyway!!! Get a life... this is now the dumbest post in the history of the site!!!

Jim, My hunts didn't exactly go the same as I dreamed either... Skunked on my AZ unit 10 archery bull tag, Killed a nice last day buck in Colorado but not the 180 I was after, and a big goose egg in Mexico. But in the end I sure had one He!! of a time chasing my dreams!!! Thanks for sharing your stories because after all, big buck or not, it's all just one more story in each of our lives and will make success that much sweeter when we do get to lay our hands on that buck we've only seen in our sleep

Nice bucks Jason. Good luck turning them up next year and slipping an arrow into one of them!!!

Hang your treestand high and shoot straight... Happy Birthday!!!

It's a simple numbers game. Put in for as many hunts as you can afford and keep your fingers crossed that you can draw one or two!!!

Doug it's interesting you bring up Alison Krauss. I had forgotten this but you just brought it to my memory. Several years ago Mike and I were driving to New Mexico to go deer hunting and an Alison Krauss song came on the raido. Mike reached over and turned up the volume and told me that he loved her music and that she has the voice of an angel. Mikes funeral services were held this morning and there were literally hundreds of people in attendance... standing room only. Pretty amazing to think that a person that felt so alone in his final hours had so many people that loved him. In the past several days I've had numerous people I don't even know call or email me offering their condolances and wanting to know what they could do for his family. Mike will truly be missed!!! I'm not sure who wrote it but I'd like to share the poem that was printed on the back of his funeral program. It's titled "Miss me but let me go". When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room! Why cry for a soul set free! Miss me a little - but not too long and not with your head bowed low! Remember the love that we once shared, miss me - But let me go! For this is a journey we all must take and each must go alone; it's all a part of the Master's plan a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart go to the friends we know and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds, Miss me - but let me go.

The funeral services have been officially announced: Saturday Feb. 12th Visitation - 8:30 am (no viewing, just meet and greet with family and friends) Funeral - 10:00 am Location: LDS Chapel, 2220 N. Harris Mesa AZ 85203 (The cross roads are McKellips and Harris) Everyone is invited to attend! Several people have asked about a "donation fund" or other ways to help the family and children. For now the best way to share your support is to leave a message right here or to attend the funeral service on Saturday morning. I have sent a link for this topic to Mike's family so they can see all the kind things and memories that everyone shares about Mike. Mikes wife Dana asked me to let everyone know that she has read this topic and is grateful for all the love and support from the CWT.com family. She also wanted me to tell everyone that if anyone here feels like they would like to talk with her for any reason they can get her phone number from me and I can give it out privately at my discression. If there are any questions please feel free to private message me through the site, email me, or call me. I hope to see a few of you on Saturday to pay our last respects to Mike!!! Here's a couple more that Phil sent me from our hunting trip in Mexico last year... Actually I think it was on our scouting trip in August. Hot doesn't even begin to describe it down there at that time of year!!! Good times.

If anyone has any pictures of Mike would you please forward them to me? Even if you think I may already have it or you think it is nothing special it will mean a lot to his mother and children to have them. themaddockcamp@cox.net Thank you, Tim

This morning I was able to speek with both Mike's mother and his wife. They are both grateful for all the love and support they have received. They are in the process of making funeral arrangements. At this point it is tenatively scheduled for Saturday morning at 10am at an LDS chapel in Mesa. I will provide the address and specifics once the time has been confirmed. Anyone and everyone is invited to attend.

A couple years ago Mike and I got drawn to hunt coues deer in the Burro Mountains in New Mexico. On the morning of the last day Mike stood up from our glassing point and happened to look down the hill behind us and saw three coues bucks looking back at him. He got all excited and said there's a buck! I didn't even budge from my seat because I thought he was kidding. But before I knew it he grabbed his rifle and shot the biggest of the three deer. When I finally stood up and looked at the dead buck laying on the ground with my binos I franticly told him that's not a coues it's a small muley... I proceeded to tell him I could see his tail perfectly through the grass and I was dead certain it was a muley! He was cussing mad at him self and figured he got caught up in the heat of the moment. Of course I was joking but I let Mike think he had poached a mule deer buck all the way down the hill! When he finally saw it was a coues I just smiled as he proceeded to spew out a few choice words for me!!!
