No bear in 23. Try a different unit. Just about any distress call will work when their in the mood to respond. Make your stands long---45min to one hour.

What load are you using in your edge? The reason I'm asking is I bought some new H-1000 and had to cut my loads from 93grs. to 90 grs. using 300 gr smk's. Vel 2845- 2858 giving me a 13 ES for 6 rounds.Just want to know if all H-1000 is hotter than the old batches.

Just got done talking to my son( who was up scouting for bear)and when on the way back this A.M. to our place in Rosevelt and saw a ewe laying up on a ledge(where the 288 crosses the salt). Stopped to look with another couple and noticed a lamb with her. When they tryed to get closer they saw she couldn't get up and the lamb wouldn't leave. They called AZGF and waited til an officer showed up.G&F thanked them. He said it looked like her back-end was hurt. Hope they make it !!On a side note my boy glassed up a nice cinnimon bear BUT it had 2 cubs with her !!

The sheep in that area(upper salt) are rocky mt. (unit 23-24a) The ones over in Apache and Canyon lakes are desert bighorn.

I have the nightforce nxs 5.5-22x with the NP-R2 reticle and zero stop. I have no trouble at 1200 yrds seeing clear crisp images. They are pricey but well worth the investment.

From your post you said a fishing and a "ski" boat. I would not expect to ski behind a bass boat. WAYYYYYYY to fast !!!! I own a stratos with a 225 on it and it and it doesn't stay on the pad much under 35 mph wich is too fast to ski . Most sking is done from 27-32 mph.Most all bass boats are not made to pull a skier.

Once you get use to shooting it you'll be amazed how well that cartridge will shoot at long range (1000 +). I know I really love the way mine shoots!!! Congrats on the new gun. Looks like a real shooter!

I've got the zeiss 1300 and it works great. I have ranged cattle at 1200 yrds on a sunny day with no problem.

You want a CO detector that goes of at 35 ppm. Don't buy a cheap one !! Most cheap ones go off at 75-80 ppm. A good one will cost 75 -100 bucks . Make sure it's a CO (carbon monoxide) not a CO2(carbon dioxicide) detector.
