Wow! What a great time you guys had! Cole's off to a great start (and perhaps a healthy, life-long addiction ). Thank you for posting the pics from your trip.

I’ve slept (restlessly) in my SUV down there before and haven’t had any night-time encounters. I did, however, pick up some of these motion-sensing LED lights and put one on each side of my vehicle (they stick with magnets): http://www.smarthome.com/4621W/Sylvania-LED-Motion-Sensor-Light-White/p.aspx I can’t say that they necessarily keep my safer but they do make me feel better in that if someone approaches they will be illuminated so I’d be able to see them and it’d be harder for them to see in. You can get them at Ace Hardware and, occasionally, at Costco. Good luck on the hunt!

Whopper of a buck! Big with LOTS of character! The mount is beautifully done. Thanks for posting. -
Dude, that was awesome! Way better then I could come up with! I pretty much had him tripping over the log. Cool post. Thanks to both of you.

+ 1! Thanks for posting these great pictures.

Good tip, PRDATR. Makes a lot of sense to put contact information on stuff that can get dropped or left behind. I should start doing that. Couse79, I hope you get your camera back. I'll keep my eyes out.

It's called Hunting, not Shooting for a reason....

Wow, what a great story of effort, temptation and doing the right thing. That’s a great story to be able to pass on young hunters and to share around camp fires for years to come. My you be rewarded with a Wyoming antelope! -
Can Mitt possibly dig himself any deeper?

Because "Husein's" (Hussein) college record would help determine what kind of president he would be? Does it matter if he has a Master's or Ph.D. or a J.D.? I thought the point was that he wasn't born here, not that he didn't go to school here. Or are you concerned about his grades? I remember your quote, "I would much rather have Hillary in the White House than this fool." As much as libertard as you may think I am, I, like many Americans, consider myself a raging moderate. Even I couldn't countenance Hillary. Geez. -

So you're happy that Bin Laden is dead, right? Last I checked, that happened on Obama's watch. -
Passing on the hunting tradition (and teaching kids that meat doesn't come wrapped in cellophane in the natural world) is important. If you're willing to donate your GPS to a youth deer camp, I'll pay for shipping. PM me your address and it'll be in the mail.

Yeah, this might not have been the best thing for Gov. Romney to have said on tape but as long as he keeps refusing to release any more of his tax returns he should still safely win Arizona. Although he allegedly required more than two years (I’ve heard anywhere from “several years” to “ten years”) of tax returns from any potential V.P. he was vetting, Gov. Romney has steadfastly refused to release more than two. That’s prolly a good idea. If those come out and show that he is part of the 47% who pay no income taxes, he’ll be pilloried by the lame-stream media and maybe regular folks too. He might actually have a chance of losing Arizona if that happens. That would be awkward. -
Awesome find! Thanks for posting. (Amanda, I might need to order one of those shirts! Usually, mine are Grong orange or sage but I do like me the safety green too.)

Great pictures! That lion picture is awesome. The lighting is perfect. If you appreciate the incredible senses, the elusiveness, the speed and graceful agility of the Gray Ghost, thank a lion. Thanks for posting.

Awesome! You have some great shed hunting buddies there! Thanks for posting this.

Great finds! Welcome to CWT.com and thanks for posting these pictures! We're looking for to many more from you.

Love the attitude! And it paid off! Congratulations on a great effort. (Impressive glassing too. When they're not moving, bobcats are very hard to see.)

I bet that added to the trade-in value! -
I’m pretty sure Congress has the “power of the purse,” meaning they have the sole power to appropriate funds for the other two branches. I’m pretty sure Congress passed “Obamacare” too. Obama just signed it. I don’t mind paying taxes. I consider it serving my country. If anything our government does is “socialized” then I’m pretty proud of our “socialized” military (especially our “socialized” snipers). They do some REALLY good work. I like our “socialized” Border Patrol too. I concede, however, that I may have been brainwashed by my “socialized” public school teacher. (She did teach me that you can’t start a sentence with “and” or “but”, that was totally wrong.) But, as Thomas Jefferson allegedly said: “The tax which will be paid for the purpose of education is not more than the thousandth part of what will be paid to kings, priests and nobles who will rise up among us if we leave the people in ignorance” I’m not a Commie. In words attributed to John Kenneth Galbraith, “Where the market works, I’m for that. Where the government is necessary, I’m for that. I’m deeply suspicious of somebody who says, “I’m in favor of privatization,” or, “I’m deeply in favor of public ownership.” I’m in favor of whatever works in the particular case.” There are many situations where the market works splendidly. And I’m all for it. There are some situations where the government in necessary. I’m all for that too. It doesn't have to be an either/or proposition.

+ 1! Incredible video! No matter what, you can say you snuck up on and touched a wild turkey. Sure, maybe it was geriatric or maybe infirm, who knows? But still, it’s a true statement. I certainly can't say that. Well done.

I’ve had several pairs of an earlier model of these boots. I’ve always really liked them. There is no break-in period and they are LIGHT. You could snug ‘em up and basically run a 10K in them, right out of the box. After reading a bunch on CWT.com (thank you, Amanda) I figured that a quality insert was in order. I started using the SuperFeet Sport insert (the green ones) and I found that they make these boots even better. After these, I went to the Merrell Phaser Peak boot which are a little higher and have even more support (still with the SuperFeet inserts though) and although I like them, I will consider going back to the lighter hikers when the Phaser Peak’s buy the farm. The down side is that I get two, maybe three years out of hikers. And I’m not out pounding the hills every weekend (also, my backpack is rarely burdened down with game, but that’s another story). But it’s so nice to not have a break-in period. (Remember that while your foot is breaking your boot in, your boot is breaking your foot in.) It’d be nice to have a comfortable boot that lasted 5 to 10 years but it’s be tortuous to have an uncomfortable boot last that long. Just my $.02.

I like DIY stories just as much as the next guy but I don’t believe that hunters who hire a guide somehow didn’t “earn” it. Outfitters and/or guides have a lot to teach and it’s awesome that they can make a living (notice I did not say “get rich”) spending their time outdoors, often year around, so they can help someone accomplish something they most likely otherwise would not accomplish. I respect the heck out of a person who builds their own house. But a person who buys their own house still "earned" it, just in a different way.
