Been trying to get a turkey for over a decade now - with my bow - and have yet to close the deal. I have never even successfully located a roost in the evening to even be able to shoot a bird out of a tree lol. I do struggle with hunters bashing other guys that are doing stuff legally. We have enough pressure on us as hunters from the anti gun pro vegan PETA delta bravos out there - At least in public, hunters need to stand up for other hunters. Have a conversation in private if you think you have something to add with someone specific, but hunters better start presenting a united front. Lord knows the anti crowd is standing together.

Mary in the draw dept said Monday or Tuesday. They were on the letter "V" in the call backs by 3:30 today.

So my oldest son put in with a friend - the friend got a call this afternoon around 3:30 and the got hit for (3) elk tags on a card that needed updating. Last name for his friend starts with a V, so it kinda looks like they go through the call back procedure alphabetically. Also, while he was on the phone with Mary in the draw dept, he asked about results and she told him Monday, possibly Tuesday on the Portal.

Got a ticket - I never see these thing in time, so getting a ticket is not the norm LOL.

What letter does your last name start with? Maybe they are going alphabetically, and my kid still has a shot LOL.

I don't think he would have been one of the beneficiaries of someone's card not going through... AZGFD didn't start calling until Monday. As I understand it, they give you (3) calls over (72) hours before you lose the tag.

Just curious - Anybody getting phone calls this Monday? I checked a few of the threads, but haven't seen an update. Just curious.

My buddy just called AZGFD because his card number was switched by the bank last week and he is out of town starting Wednesday of next week. They told him they will start calling on monday, but that he should be fine as long as he is in range through Tuesday.

I just called them - $50 jr elk for my youngest son and $135 for archery bull for me. Made my dang weekend with that (1) phone call. I could kiss you right on the mouth for that advise!

The cards cannot be getting hit. I know this because there are no new charges on my card, and Bernie Sanders would not think it was fair for you guys to get tags and not me.

Missed a call from a number I didn't recognize... So I called AZGFD to see if it was them. It wasn't, they confirmed, they that had called. And the very nice gal I spoke with (May or Mary?) said it hasn't started yet. so there you go. Twenty minutes on hold to get nothing LOL.

That you got that development site is weird... It even says that the department will start accepting leftover apps by mail on 8/3. Also gives info about number of apps and other stats. Bizarre that you found that. The good news is that if the leftover apps are getting accepted on 8/3, we shouldn't have much longer till we know the results.

Uh, AZGFD does post a date that the results will be available - This years fall draw results date is August 7th (page 22 of the 2015/16 regs). We are all on here in anticipation of the results being early.

That rainlog website seems to be just that - individuals posting their info to a site. Maybe spread the word to the coueswhitetail folks and have them post their info there? Keep us from reinventing the wheel.

I asked all the hunting buddies I knew last Friday... Not one of them had had (or heard of anybody else that had) been hit on their card since Monday of last week. Seems weird that AZGFD nailed the process so quickly this year. Strange times in the kingdom.

August 6th. I am trying to use some reverse psychology on AZGFD.

I like the micropur tablets much better than the iodine... And I have had so many mechanical failures with filters that I don't currently have one. I am hearing good things about the Sawyer filters, so I may check one of them out - It's on my wish list. I am pretty convinced that backpacking gear is like a heroin addiction... You know you shouldn't buy more, you know you don't need it, you know the money is all gone and your wife is gonna be ticked - but just one more....

Hey so what do you usually end up at total on your back? My 5 day set up is usually 38 lbs with optics and tripod water and all. (5) day weight for me - assuming there is water available - is around 29 lbs. If I was hunting, that would go up with the tripod, glass, game bags, Havalon knife, and camo clothes that are heavier than my regular BP gear. Water is always the variable - 3L per day is my minimum so over six pounds per day. That is always the stressful part for me.
