Interesting what showed up in my email today from PennyMac "A corrected 2017 IRS Form 1098 will be mailed to you by March 15, 2018, from PennyMac Loan Services, LLC (“PennyMac”). If you are registered on our website, you will also receive an email notification as soon as the document has been uploaded for you to view and print. Why You Received This Notice PennyMac mailed you a 2017 IRS Form 1098 prior to January 31, 2018, as required by IRS regulations. Deductions for mortgage insurance premiums ("MIP") had expired at the end of 2016, so PennyMac was not allowed to report MIP you paid in 2017 in Box 5 of the Form 1098. However, on February 9, 2018, President Trump signed into law H.R. 1892, the "Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018," which included tax legislation that extended the deductions for MIP paid in 2017. In late February, the IRS announced that lenders who furnished 1098s to borrowers in January 2018 that did not include MIP paid in 2017 should furnish corrected 1098s that include such MIP payments. As a result, we are sending you the enclosed Corrected 2017 IRS Form 1098 that reflects MIP you paid last year in Box 5. What You Should Do You do not need to contact PennyMac, and this information does not affect the servicing of your mortgage account. For additional information as to how this Corrected 2017 IRS Form 1098 may impact your 2017 income taxes, we recommend that you consult with your tax professional. Sincerely, Your PennyMac Loan Servicing Team PennyMac Loan Services, LLC NMLS ID #35953" Good, bad? It seems I'll be able to claim a larger deduction which is good, right? Any CPA's want to chime in? Thanks, Jeff

Is it typical to have to send a simple warranty fix to Austria? A rubber eyepiece fell off my 15x56 binos and I am nervous sending them across the ocean! LOL. Isn't there somewhere in the US to send them? Jeff

Got this email from Rhode Island this morning: I did receive the information you sent over to Austria in another email. I will get those eye pieces out today for you! Thank you, Looks like Swarovski is taking care of me! Jeff

Nice bull Chad! How elk tags is that in AZ in the last 5 years?! Jeff

I cut and pasted this from FB and really upsets me as I know the folks that had these items stolen. This happened yesterday 9/10/17 in Safford.... Just want everyone to keep there eyes open. I had my Winchester .22 mag and vortex HD binos stolen today while I was at church on 20th st. They popped the tumbler on the door off and got in. If anyone sees either of them being sold anywhere please let me know. I doubt it was anyone interested in hunting as they left the tripod. PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN!! Thanks, Jeff

14yr old Daughter makes NT B&C
cohntr6 replied to Randyh2412's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I am impressed!! Congratulations to your daughter on a big ol buck. Love the live buck pictures too! Jeff -
coues77, I hunted 23 quite a few years ago on a cow hunt. In my scouting trips I yielded one elk. In 3 days of hunting I saw 0 elk. It is a low density elk unit which would be why it is fairly easily drawn. I would stick to the north end of the unit unless you can get private access to fields around Glenwood/Alma. Jeff

Best Rifle Season (nov 25 to dec 4) units?
cohntr6 replied to reece_mess16's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Just about any unit you can find hiking trails will get you away from the crowds. I backpack hunt a unit close to home, maybe try that so you can spend more time scouting. Jeff- 27 replies
