I put a mineral rock out last year and got NO deer using it, this year I thought I would use white saly and buck licker and see how that does. I used white salt in Utah and had over three hundred deer and elk pics in 4 days.(does and fawns) They liked it, what have you guys had luck with?

My son Nathan whacked a gobbler on Sat evening. We glassed up 8-10 toms strutting in this meadow about 4-5oo yards away. They were all henned up and not calling very much but they were putting on quite a strutting show. We decided to watch them go to roost, when they did we were right on their tails. It was still light enough to see the tom in the tree, he took one shot with his 20 guage and it was over. We had a great time, saw elk, deer, turkeys and called in a wolf to about 35 yards. It was beautiful weather, if you dads out there are reading this is a great hunt for kids. It might be a little cold but there is alot of animals just out cruising around. By the way we were out in 27.

Anything to get more youths involved and keep their enthusiasm up is great. My son got a turkey this last weekend and had a great time. It is a great time to be outdoors and if your like me its just as exciting to watch my son harvest a bird than myself. Because the only difference is that I'm not pulling the trigger!

A few Quail from Roosevelt
jeffcros replied to Buckhunter's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
How many of those did you shoot on the ground? I've seen you shoot AT quail, I don't think all of those are yours! -
I shoot blazers and fletch my own with a bitzenburger jig. I set a vane in the clamp, put a shaft in there, and adjust offset as much as the shaft will allow for that size of fletching. With the blazers you might have to mess with it a couple of minutes but they will be fine. I've been shooting them for a couple of years now with great results

I don't understand how anybody can its too much. How much do we spend on Hunting/Fishing licenses, gas, trail cameras, salt, batteries, propane, camping equip, rifles, optics, reloading supplies, ect? Is this TOOL any different? I have three sons, I AM BUYING ONE!!! If you are helping/teaching someone to hunt shouldn't you give them the best experiment you can. If I buy this it not only helps my sons but I can use it myself. I'm not afraid to tell you I have missed a deer before due to a sub-par rest. If there is honest people out there they will agree with me on that comment.. What is $200 in the grand scheme of things. If you put $25 a week back you can have one the first of June. Its not that crazy of an idea.

I hunted 22 this weekend and glasses up 17 deer on Sat and 27 on Sun. Sat it was 13 Whitey does 1 90" buck and a couple of muley does. Sun, one Whitey buck and 9 muley does and the rest whitey does. I have hunted this area for years and can't understand where all the bucks went. The two whitey bucks were trailing and never slowed down. As far as I could see them. One ran through a bunch of muley does and just kept going. Are these bucks just regrouping after the rut? I can't believe they just moved. I didn't see a pig in all the glassing I did, has anyone had better luck than me in 22. I didn't see a track in all the areas I've killed them in years previous .

Nice job, putting a arrow in one spot and stalk is no easy task. I missed three in Aug.
