  1. Stanley, I think you might find this information enlightening: http://www.land.state.az.us/support/faqs.htm as to what State Land is and what activities are not allowed by the Land Department. Bill
  2. Whitehntr, the regulation is found in R12-4-318 C. 2. Related to ?archery-only? season and the language pertaining to this would be ?shall use and possess only bow and arrow as prescribed in R12-4-304and shall not use of possess any other weapon?..? In C. 3. Handguns are allowed in the HAM , handgun, archery and muzzleloader season. Bowhunter4life, I?ve read and reread the regulations you listed in your statement, ?yes you can carry a hand gun on an archery hunt R12-4-216. an individual participating in an archery-only season may carry a handgun for personal protection providing the barrel does not exceed 6" in lenth..also see R12-4-304,R12-4-318. No worries any more.mike.? I have been unable to locate the exemption you state. I could have missed it. Will you tell me where it can be found in the regulation? Some have indicated the wildlife manager wouldn?t cite them in certain units. I think ARS 17-309 E covers that pretty well. If it?s a violator getting a ticket or the wildlife manger being cited himself, I?ll bet the violator get the ticket. Sounds like BASS nailed it.

From your description that was my best guess, glad it was helpful. I've seen many Mule deer off the north end of the Las Guijas Mountains. Chuck at Murphy's should be able to fill you in on the Springfield. Good Luck on your hunt. Bill

    Tucson Gunsmith

Peckl1 You mentioned that the rifle is from the father of your brother-in-law and that the rifle may be military. I'm wondering if the rifle might be a 03A3 Springfield. At the rear of the bolt is a lever that can be moved from left to center (up) to right and has something to do with either the operation of the bolt or safety, I can't remember, just my quess. Did the bolt lock up right after firing (stuck case) or after someone fooled around with the bolt or safety? Anyway, try flipping the lever, if there is one. I might release the bolt and save you a trip to the gunsmith. Bill edit. After a search, is this of any help? http://www.surplusrifle.com/03a3/operations.asp The last picture in the operation section?

    Hoof VS Fist

It's been my experience, so far, that both mule deer does and bucks will respond to jackrabbit of cottontail calls either from mouth blown calls or recorded tapes. However whitetail deer I have never responded to any predator call, except for running away as fast and quickly as they can from me. FWIW. Bill

    RESULTS ARE IN

I drew a 36B October whitetail tag. No antelope tag again, for the 13th time. Good Luck to the rest of you. Bill
  7. I got a November tag for 36C. Rejected again for antelope. Bill

So what did you put in for?

I put in for whitetail in 36B December, November and October then 36C October, November. I haven't drawn a December tag in 8 years, I'm hoping my luck will change. Good luck to all on the draw. Bill
