    2008 Father/Son Success

Congrats to both YOU and your POPS. It's not everyday a father and son can harvest two monster bucks on the same hunt. That trip will make for some great memories to look back on on future hunts. Who knows, maybe you can top this hunt next year. Conrats again to you both

    November success

Eagle eye, Yes this buck is smaller than the one I missed. The one I missed was easily over 100in and I think about him every day. But hey, thats why its called hunting and not killing. I don't ever have my deer scored but if I were to take a guess, I would say my buck would be in the low 90's and I am very pleased with him. Thank all of you for all your great comments and to those who have upcoming hunts, BEST OF LUCK. Go get em

Well done boy's. I would be very pleased with either one of those STUDS
  7. Well opening weekend went well for my family. My dad, father-n-law and a good buddy of mine had tags down south. I have a early Nov. hunt so I was just down there for the good times and of course an extra pair of eyes. Friday morning produced one buck down as my dad shot this lil 3x2. My buddy and father-n-law had their chances as well but things didn'twork out. Saturday morning found us walking up a familar hill as we still had 2 tags left to fill and we did just that. I found this guy around 8:00am and after a great stalk, my father-n-law had him down at 9:15. This was his first trip hunting with us and is also his first deer. He had a great time and killed an great first buck. Another pic. My buddy, father-n-law, and my dad My buddy and I parted ways with my dad and father-n-law as they took his deer back to camp. An hour later and 1 big ridge over my buddy killed his 4th deer in 4 years. We had to jump him out of his bed as it was pretty warm outside, but with his deer down their 2008 deer hunt was over. Now I have 2 weeks to regroup and i'm off to get one of my own. I can only hope it goes as well as this hunt did

    Opening morning 3 X 3 down

Congrats to you and your son. Thats a fine first buck. I can still remember mine with my dad and 16 years later we still look back on that hunt. I was 12 and I shot a spike. I've shot many deer since then and I can honestly say that buck is my favorite. I'll never forget the smile on face and how proud he was of me. To me, that's what hunting is all about. MEMORIES, MEMORIES, and more MEMORIES with the one's we love, and I wish you two many more succesful hunts in the future
  9. Nicely done brother. Wish it was that LARGE whitety instead. Hopefully he is still there Jan and we can let some arrows fly
  10. Nice photos cuz. Your right, he's as BIG as u said he was. If dad doesn't get his deer over opening weekend, u can bet we will search for this guy on the last two days of the hunt

    Unit 34B

I have an Oct. 34b tag, I have been scouting the West side of the Wetstones, from Granit peak north. I have yet to see a deer! And worse not much sign. This is the first time i've been coues hunting in this unit. I am going to try scouting the north end, by entering thru Emprita Ranch, probably on Sep. 30th. I have a feeling I will be hunting close to Haystack. Looking at Google earth, it looks pretty good, but I haven't been in there yet. I'm in a grey 05' Tundra, Feel free to stop by if you see me. I'll let you know if I see anything good. James.
