started scouting yesterday for 21 oct hunt
Coues&Coyotes replied to swwildlife's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have the same tag and have been hunting 21 for the past few years. Year before last I hunted every day of the hunt and didn't see one buck. Last year I finally found a 2x3 with a spilt eyeguard at 4:30 pm on the last day and was fortunate to harvest him. Hunting 21 has really been pushing me to my limits but I always come back for more. Good luck on your hunt and hope to see some pictures. -

I just ended up gettig my daughter a leftover juniors javelina tag and was wondering if any of you guys/gals have ever hunted the little stink pigs during the fall? We have done a lot of javelina hunting in the spring time but I wasn't sure if the same tatics apply for them in the fall time seeing how the weather will be warmer.

I have 4 PCW alum. wheels that are 5 on 5.5 15" that came off of my Bronco if you are interested. They are in great shape with no rock rash. Currently have 35's on them but I'm willing to have them removed. I live in Flagstaff but I could bring them to Globe this Saturday. Will let them go for $200.00 for the four. Let me know. Thanks.

Who would want to eat a javi?
Coues&Coyotes replied to joeeden's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Casey's processing in Flagstaff makes a really good Javi summer sausage. That is what we do with our piggys. -

Thanks for posting. Actually brought back some memories because I remember seeing several of those pictures as a kid in the Globe (born and raised in Globe) news paper (AZ Silverbelt). -

Doug, thanks for running a top notch company. My wife was really excited to be one of the runner ups this time. She just recently ordered me the Minox 15x58 special (I've never seen a deal like that one) you have going and as usual nothing but great customer service. I recieved my new optics in little over a week and cannot wait to get them out in the field. I will continue to do all my optic business thru CamerLand. Thanks again Marvin Jones -
My son just picked up an X7 in 30-06 and he loves it. Sighted it in a few days ago and it shoots factory ammo very well (180 gr Winchester Silvertips). He is going to be using his for rifle Elk this year. Looks like they took some ideas from Savage with the Accutrigger and such. We look forward to try differnt ammo later on but are going to stick with the 180 gr because it is shooting them so well. Personally I don't think you will be dispointed. Good luck.

I really would like to see Mir win again, but I don't feel he can stand toe to toe with Lesnar. Mir's ground game I think is much better so I feel he is going to have to take it to the ground to have a chance. Not to take anything away from Brock but I don't feel a figther should have the belt with a record of 3-1. What ever happened to having to working your way up the ranks to have a chance at the title? Should be a good fight none the less. My predicition: Mir in the second round, submission agian.

I'll take it if sunsetfarms doesn't.

Well we thought we would take advantage of the Juniors Turkey Hunt this year but not ever hunted turkeys before, I had to ask for assistance from my good buddy and turkey expert Jack C. About a week before the hunt, we been searching a few spots for birds and had a couple of areas selected. Thursday before the hunt we decided to check in an area much closer to home and was able to but a few gobblers to bed that night. We decided to try for one that seems to have a few hens roosting with him. Early Friday morning came and Brittany couldn't wait to get in the woods. Right at sunrise we heard the gobbler that we had but to bed the night before so we set up the decoys quickly and got into position. With myself sitting next to Brittany and Jack about 20 yards behind us, Jack begins his turkey seranade. Not long into his calling, Brittany whispers that she see birds about 50 yards in front of us. I put up the binos to check to see if it is the gobbler coming up out of the canyon. The turkey finaly came out from behind a pine tree and I told Britt that it was an hen and not to shoot that one. I'm not sure what Jack was telling that bird but she was really agressive with her talking and started running right to myself and Brittany. Not wanting the hen seeing me lowering my binos, I waited until she was behing a tree well under 20 yards from us. As the hen was coming to us, I kept telling Brittany not to shoot and she would respond back to me "Are You Sure"? Well I didn't know that under 15 yards from us and right next to the decoys was the tom just struting away. He had come out of the canyon a little to our right and I never once seen him. Quickly I whispered to Britt to shoot that bird. She waited until he came out of full strut and exposed himself from behind a pine tree. One shot right in the neck and the celebration was on. Our first turkey hunt was over right before 6:00am opening morning. We even had enough time to get her to school on time. What a great experince and I think Brittany is hooked now. The turkey ended up having a 10 inch beard and weight in at about 20 Lbs.

Dude, finding a cow carcass with yotes on it is like finding the Holy Grail. Set up, take out a couple and come back and do it again. Sorry for getting worked up with you seeing so many dogs in one place, I'd give alot for a find like that. Anyways, it's always awesome seeing bald egales. Great pictures.
