    WTB 223 reloading stuff

So..... I assembled my first AR-15 last October. That has kinda been a mistake. At the time I wasnt worried about buying mags or ammo. I did manage one pmag at $40 in December (ouch huh?). But, I still have never shot it and have no ammo for it. I have a lee reloader and was wondering if someone had a bit of the following: Powder any for a 223 load will work Small rifle primers Bullets. Not as concerned about bullets I have seen some still around. Dies I think I could find. Brass I already bought. I don't want a lot. Even if I could get enough to load two hundred rounds I would be happy as a clam. I'm willing to pay a reasonable price but I'm not looking to get gouged otherwise I'll continue to wait. Please let me know.

    Stolen cam

I think I'm gonna get it for saying this. As someone who has run their own cams I hate to hear of them getting stolen as I know the time and effort that goes in to them so i feel for you and the stolen cam. But, last year I never saw a camera, tree stand, or salt more than a quarter mile off road and always near water. I have learned to never put my cams on water or well established trails less than a quarter mile from a road. I try to hide mine in areas around water and move them more frequently to capture the local wildlife. Biggest bonus of this is knowing how animals come and leave the area. But all this mob mentality makes me worried to be near someone's cam and when I'm in the woods that's not something I should be thinking about. Let's not assume every hunter in your area is a thief. Let's face it I have seen up to 4 cams and 2 tree stands on single water holes before....some people are setting themselves up. Again I'm not condoning stealing but I am all in favor of a little more effort in cam placement. AND DON'T ASSUME IM A CAM THIEF IF I APPEAR ON YOUR CAM.

    Need help with bow

There are so many possibilities it's not even funny. To list a few nock placement, arrow stiffness, porpoising.....etc. Sorry that I cant be of more help. I hate to let others touch my bow so my first recourse would be recommending to find a copy of the Easton Bow Tuning Guide and go through it knocking the possibilities off the list. Its easy to find online.... Ah forget it heres a link http://www.eastonarchery.com/img/downloads/software/tuning_guide.pdf I keep a hard copy at home cause it's kinda my archery bible. It may seem a little dated but the basics are all there. If not find a good shop.

    Bow advice

Well there are a few things that I have learned. I didnt stick with my first bow long. Lets be honest how much do you really know about what you want. So heres a suggestion: Looking back I would have bought my first bow as one I knew would hold its value the best. Let me say : "I DO NOT think Mathews are the best bows" but I know they hold their value the best due to the huge fanbase. I have bought and sold almost every mathews out there. Hands down you will loose the least money while you "Figure" archery out. The other side of this coin is sooooo many people love and worship their Mathews that its likily you will like it from the get go and stick with it. Either way its a good way to go. Currently have a Rytera. Favorite bow ever was PSE x-force 6hf. Favorite Mathews was the Legacy. Favorite Bowtech was the Allegiance. Hoyt never owned one they look ugly. Next someone said stick to Archery talk for used accessories. Im 100% with him I spend a lot of time over there and there are lots of good deals to be had. But know what your buying do your research. Someone said buy a good rest (Ultrarest or Ripcord) I agree. I'd just like to add stick with something thats full capture like those two it will make learning easier. Someone said a 7 pin site. Uh..... why..... hes learning not trying to win the triple crown. KISS ( Keep It Simple Stupid) is what I say. A good 5 pin is good enough I started with a 3. I like Bear Mountain I just like the guys I deal with at the archery counter. I dont know as much as they do but at least they dont make me feel dumb.

    Round 2

favorite quote from Obama: " Most recently out in Aurora. You know, just a couple of weeks ago, actually, probably about a month, I saw a mother, who I had met at the bedside of her son, who had been shot in that theater. And her son had been shot through the head. And we spent some time, and we said a prayer and, remarkably, about two months later, this young man and his mom showed up, and he looked unbelievable, good as new." I love it..... Uh a few weeks ago I saw this guy.... Then 2 months later he!!!!!

    Bad Bullets?

I have had that with a box of Remington core-lok in 30-30 I still have the ammo never fired it from like 8 years ago. But you don't understand what I really think about Remington stuff. I'd just rather not deal with them over 20 bucks

    AR-15 Owners Step Inside

What we should do is see if a group of us could work out a deal with a manufacturer and get a bulk rate on stripped lowers.

    Cardboard Target

Straw does not stop my field tips until I get to about 50 yards it just destroys fletchings and even at 50 it's pretty iffy.
  12. I'd be interested in just the bow how much for it

    Video

Really thought these looked good!!! But.... I can fletch a lot of arrows for 20 bucks. I guess I'll still try em but there is no way I can afford to refletch 3 dozen arrows with these($102.94). They should eliminate some of the packaging and save some money.

    question

No you dont. Just have to be able to line it up consistently for accuracy. Incidently that is a lot easier for some people when they line up ring to ring but by no means is it mandatory. My point of reference for shooting is my kisser button. I feel I can shoot continuosly accurate with that. I never take the time to line up the rings when I feel that button hit the corner of my mouth I know I'm lined up

    Pse X-force 6 HF - Sold

dang it I have been looking for one of these for like 4 weeks and yesterday I spent the money I was going to use to buy something for school. Man that sucks. Interested in any trades?
  22. My suggestion is hands off leave it alone. We are such great managers that we know more than nature itself. After all Earth has only been able to take care of itself for 4 billion years.

    Blood Vane

Absolutely important I agree. But for me 5 inch wrap with 3- 3 inch vanes @8 grains apiece. I might be ahead with these. Only concern is my helical is a little more than 2* Im sure. I like my arrows with a little more spin.
  24. gauchoand

    Blood Vane

Love the idea. I have been fletching arrows for a while now just so I can shoot the vanes I want (3" fusions) at the offset/helical I want. But, anyone who fletches arrows knows that fletching a couple dozen arrows is pretty time consuming. This looks like a good Idea I will be trying these out when I can find some. Heat shrinks never worked well for me and Fobs hated my Ripcord rest. The fact that these are glued on should solve the problems I've experienced with the heat shrink fletching and is there is a lot about fobs that this improves over.
  25. Just found out that the rifle I recieved as a present from the wife 6 years ago has been recalled. Not only is it one of my favorite guns to shoot but it had a bit of sentimental value to it... Heres what Remington has to say about it.... " immediately stop using your Remington Model 597 17 HMR semi-automatic rifle. If you own a Remington Model 597 17 HMR semi-automatic rifle and wish to return it to Remington please contact the below Remington Consumer Service Number. In return for your Remington Model 597 17 HMR synthetic stock semi-automatic rifle, Remington will provide you a coupon valued at $200.00 good for the purchase of a replacement Remington firearm. If you have a laminate stock Remington Model 597 17 HMR semi-automatic rifle, Remington will provide you a coupon valued at $250.00 good for the purchase of a replacement Remington firearm. This Coupon is for end users only and will be good for the purchase of a Remington firearm at your local dealer." Oh what a great solution... Give me a coupon thats half the original purchase price of the gun. Oh there going to allow me to spend it on buying another one of their crappy guns. What a solution guys... Oh wait I forgot to mention they said I can keep it but that never to shoot it again. Real standup company here.... If thats the best their going to do to resolve a problem I swear to never own another Remington firearm in my life. Heres the gist of the why of the recall: I'm out shooting my favorite game with the rifle and the rifle exploded in my hands. I was hit in the face (remember, always wear your glassses!) with the extractor, the bolt was cracked in half, and we never found all the small parts from the bolt which were blown out of the gun..... any 17hmr ammo is not capable of being safely fired from a semi auto gun and is an idustry wide recall on guns. Sorry guys just really upset at what they are doing to their customers.
