I have talked with guys back east who only sit in tree stands...nothing against tree stands at all, but most couldn't believe that shots out west were taken beyond 30 yards. The Cam Hanes thing: he works his butt off 9 to 5 then works out and shoots, with him having 3 kids and a wife. I bet you that he could hit a soda can every time at 140! you have to try to be good, but you have to work to be great. Some have that passion and some don't. get on the horse and ride it. Im going to repeat what Becker said, "Technology is so much better now." these are my words, "DONT HATE THE PLAYER HATE THE GAME" Some are just better than others. deal with it!!!

This is how I role...If I can hit a paper plate every time at x distance Im going to take the shot, with optimal conditions. I have not killed a deer with a bow but have killed elk and pigs out to 70 with a bow. With that being said I have seen film of friends of mine that have killed antelope with one arrow out to 140 yards...and they don't wound them, they are confident in there skills. I think the real things is as a true hunter: If you have the shot, and your not just flinging arrows take it...if your not confident you shouldn't, don't talk crap because he killed a deer at that distance, heck maybe some people on here cant shoot that far. that's not a bad thing but that doesn't make you less off hunter. I don't know this gentleman, but before some of you talk crap maybe you should go out and practice more.

One thing about Arizona is that it is in my opinion the most diverse place to hunt. you have the snow and the desert, pines and the mesquite, with all kinds of Big Game to chase. I love this place! Congrats to everyone on this thread and CWT....nice job! ~Mark

It could be anything from a bent axil, to a bushing snapped or the wrong arrow spine, 400 grains seems pretty light for 70 pounds. Im assuming you have a long draw as well. I shoot a PSE X-Force, so I cant say too much about Mathews. But I have a lot of friends that shoot them and they have nothing but good things to say. They will stand behind there product...there just some thing small that is wrong. Good Luck, Mark -
Turkey count 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12 ? there i counted for you. schools just dont teach how they used to.. hey if your turkey count is much higher than this ya might wanna seek legal counsel.. The only thing I can think of is head closer to Gila Bend, along the river. Get up high like your in sheep country and glass the flats you wont see a lot but you could see a toad. I picked up 8 sheds on my sheep hunt in two days...good luck. Merry Christmas!

I got my Desert with 8 BPs and sitting on 15 for Rocky. anything is possible. maybe they would put an archery only tag in a couple of units, that would be cool.

I had 19 points when I drew my 4b rifles tag and I was one less than max and that was 4 years ago with applying since I was 10 years old.

Im Not sure if this qualifies for Vintage but they are two great bucks that were shot...one by my dad and the other by his really good friend the year before they closed the strip for a bit.

More than likely a bear that big wont have a skull as big as the one you killed. Skinny old bears are the ones with the biggest skulls. IMO. You really think so? Those berry eating PA bears always weigh a lot, but it is true that their skulls are not necessarily linked to body weight. That bear probably does have a 20 inch skull though. I still would prefer a western bear of half the weight with a color phase coat. Color phases are rare east of the Mississippi. The head never stops growing but the body starts to break down.

I didn't see that...I have killed one bear and probably be my last...he was around 400 lbs and 19 in skull. If I saw a 48lb bear I would probably try to give it a hug if MOM wasn't around.

That is a cool buck, great breakdown Amanda! That is how I would do it but the mass measurements are what is throwing me off. maybe not post a score this would be fun for a contest. Congrats to the hunter on a once in a lifetime unique buck.

I have called in multiple bears while Elk hunting using a Hyper Hot Elk call. I was surprised the first time but It works. just go nuts on it like a varmint call.
