    Wild Boar Hunting in AZ

Well, I saw the hog that appears to have been killed the first time by you and the second time by your buddy (see above). If he needed killing twice, he musta been a tough ol' bugger, eh? -TONY ok, you caught me in a moment of being pure "pathetic". I wished that it would have been me. Sometimes peer envy gets the better of you but I really did feel like it was me that did the "kill". Maybe one day it will be me pulling the trigger and not someone else. I did get to watch tho (the story of my life!!!).

I'm not sure but I don't think that he will have a problem with it. It's not too often that someone can be on a website with a 310 lb. Russian Boar that was taken in a full charge at 8 yds. I do know that we were told that his photo would and is placed on Sptsmn's Whse. Hall of Fame board in Tuc.

    Wild Boar Hunting in AZ

Good news, I called Tnt to ask them if there would be any problem with my using photos of the hog taken by my buddy on this format. Lo and behold, they have already posted on their website the photo with him and his hog. It's one that says 300lbs. plus and him standing next to the hanging hog. So just go their website and you'll see it.

I know who you are talking about.......................... a house that is small. I don't know about all that, but I did ask the range mgr. with Tnt about deer and javelina hunting and he said that anybody that has their access permit, can hunt on their property free of charge. My buddy and I will be hunting there for rifle javelina. Maybe its a different ranch??

    Wild Boar Hunting in AZ

I guess that I can "legally" tell you where the ranch is (hopefully without violating the forum's rules of engagement!!). The one we went to was at Reddington near San Manuel. The other one I'm not sure exactly where, but they said near Clifton, Az. No fences. The ranch is something like 230, 000 acres. They mentioned that sometimes the hogs wander but always return to the fields and constant water. Large fields of alfalfa, oats and sourgham. We found "freeways" where the hogs would come in to feed (usually at night). Hope that helps.

    Wild Boar Hunting in AZ

Sorry, but I thought that you said it could be done "privately". I was thinking that when we talked to each other direct, that is what you meant. So when you say "easy enough to find them on the web", does that not mean the "web address"? I'm new to this chat room business and if I'm wrong or ignorant in this regard, I apologize.

Will do. Just as soon as I figure out how to send them. I'm kinda ignorant on this computer when it comes to sending photos but my girlfriend knows how. Just as soon as I can, I'll have them sent.

    Wild Boar Hunting in AZ

Right. I saw that. The web site is still useless. How the heck does an outfit looking to run a money-making venture think that site will help them? -TONY I don't know but I thought that it was a cool site. I guess that if someone wants more info, that they would have to contact them, which is what we did and it worked out well. Atleast for us, as I took the biggest boar (310 lbs.) on my first day out. Not to mention that we saw tons of other wildlife.

Catclaw, I just read your response and I too, have done a lot of checking and was told several different things by their so-called "experts". When I finally got to a supervisor I found that you don't need a license nor tag for wild boar. Then I hunted in S.E. Az. with Tnt Adventures on one of their ranches and they too, know what's up. Anyway, they got BIG boars.

Looking at getting a hand gun

I was hunting Russian Boar in S.E. Ariz. last Oct. when I heard 3 shots. I found this guy hunting with a 45. auto and had just dropped a big (287 lb.) boar with it. He was using Ext. Shock ammo and said that his first shot would have been enough, but he didn't want that "bad boy" getting up as he had big tusks. I helped him carry his prize back to his truck and from what I could tell, that ammo did a heck of a job, as his first shot went clear thru the armored plate that boars have on their shoulders and really messed up its lungs! I now carry the same thing for a back up to my hunting.

    2007 Archery Pig Hunt

Hey guys. Why do you call javelina "pigs"? Aren't they really rodents?? I know they taste like rats. If you really want to hunt pigs in Az, pm me for info. I just got a Russian boar, they get up to 600 lbs. and they taste great!! We just took a 310 lb. boar and we had backstrap/tenderloin stks. and I think I now have a new favorite!!! They got lots of rats too but who would want to hunt something 1 tenth the size and not near as tasty?

    Wild Boar Hunting in AZ

Ok guys, here's the real deal. I just hunted down in S.E. Az. with a company called Tnt Adventures that has true Russian Boar! I saw some photos in Sptsmns. Whse. in Tucson and contacted them. I and a buddy, just did a week end hunt and took a 310 lb. Euro-boar with 2" cutters. He was really PO'd because we scared off his herd of sows and was only 8 yds. away in full charge. My 270 wsm/150 gr. soft point, hit him just below the eye line, dead square in the nose and he dropped like lead weight. The range mgrs., who were backing me, were just about to open up with their 12 ga.s when I fired. Talk about excitement!!! I couldn't stand still for a good 15 min. after. They have 2 ranches (we're scheduled to hunt the one on the NM. border in March) and their rates are good. And it sure beats driving all the way to Tex. or Calif! Their hunts are Free Chase so none of this crap like we experienced with the EZ ranch in Northern Az. My buddy got a shot at a mtn. lion while there but missed. You can look them up on the internet. That's how we found them.
