Cabelas military discount program seems to be going liberal P.C.
hoghntr replied to hoghntr's topic in The Campfire
Yeah it's kind of weird cuz I don't remember ever buying anything at Bass Pro Shop that they did not give military discount on and Bass Pro Shop had military discount everyday. Cabela's used to only do Veterans Day Memorial Day excetera. Cabela's now does daily military discount if you're registered you have to show proof and have it in the system but considering it's a 5% discount I thought it was kind of weird when they took it away from these items. Matter of fact the list of items is so long I'm not sure what you can buy with military discount except for clothing LOL Buying anything from Bass Pro is like shopping at the airport. Easy to give a discount when you're still bending the customer over. L.O.L. right... Im pretty much a clearance rack guy there and Cabelas. I do like Cabelas Euro HD glass though. 👍 Don't really care for much else except a few Rizzini's is I saw in 20ga in Gun Library ❤ but at $4k each I could not take home with me. -

Okay so I understand in military discount is a pretty cool thing any company that offers it as far as I'm concerned is going above and beyond and saying thank you and I appreciate that. But when a company starts putting restrictions on what you're allowed to use your military discount on for reasons other than such as you can't get 10% off of a boat or a quad that makes sense to me the very expensive item that would be a very large discount. But as of a few weeks back Cabelas has stepped it up you cannot use your military discount on any ammunition bullets gunpowder reloading stuff at all can anybody explain that to me? I mean they already don't allow discounts on any Firearms any military discount that is but to include guns powder bullets Exedra I don't understand this one -

Sounds about like my HOA LOL then they came in and change the color of the common walls... So now all of our walls that tie into the common walls are a different color. They get to make up their own rules

Ok back on topic.. I thought some of tne choices of what we coulndt use our discount on was suspect in today's gun climate. Intent behind the decision is what I would like to know. If its all about not enough profit in powder, ammo, bullets etc then i get it BUT seems odd with timing and all. Kinda like the stores that put up no firearms allowed signs for insurance purposes. Just simple question would love to know answer to. L.O.L. And gotta just ignore few of these guys on here especially the ones I have stood up for and had big boy discussions with about changing their lives and mistakes they have made. L.O.L. dang they sure get nasty when they forget who didn't judge butvrather gave them 2nd chance in their book. -

All I have is the memories! My kiddo, 21 now, too cool for me I guess. I sure miss those days and pray the relationship is restored cuz he was best hunting partner. My paps and I hunted hard together when I was young but it was mostly shooting snakes that were attatched to my leg, finding me lost in Kaibab, or repairing the truck door I put 243 thru from inside out :/ etc etc.. No big bucks in,pics of he and I. That's a awesome buck!

243 👍 Even some of us adults use 243 on elk

Needs a simulation button! Bugles scream out then antlers start vibrating and heavy cracking head butting sounds happen. 👍👍

Apply these facts about the human brain to whatever you would like. Driving age, drinking age, voting age, military age etc.. At what age is the brain fully developed? Although brain development is subject to significant individual variation, most experts suggest that the brain is fully developed by age 25. For some people, brain development may be complete prior to age 25, while for others it may end after age 25. The mid-20s or 25 is just an average age given as checkpoint for when the brain has likely become mature. It may seem logical that those aged 18 to 25 are completely mature, the brain still is maturing specifically the area known as the prefrontal cortex. Changes occurring between ages 18 and 25 are essentially a continued process of brain development that started during puberty. When youre 18, youre roughly halfway through the entire stage of development. The prefrontal cortex doesnt have nearly the functional capacity at age 18 as it does at 25. This means that some people may have major struggles with impulsive decisions and planning behavior to reach a goal. The brains reward system tends to reach a high level of activation during puberty, then gradually drifts back to normal activation when a person reaches roughly the age of 25. Adults over the age of 25 tend to feel less sensitive to the influence of peer pressure and have a much easier time handling it. I love my guns but some common sense flaws are wrong with the system for sure. Makes absolutely ZERO sense to require background check in a store but a driver's license in a parking lot. I really could care less how many of you cuss me out for this 1 I'm with Coach on this. And just because you would not be allowed to buy a ridle till your 21 that would not mean that your parents cannot buy it and you can't use it.. Shoot dang adult children are living at home at 25-30 years old more and more now that is spooky. They are insured till what 25 years old now??? As a responsible adult gun owner I have absolutely zero problem if we had title transfer places just like third party DMVs where we walk in and do paperwork for 15 or 20 bucks. Felons are buying guns in parking lots every single day in Phoenix Arizona. Feel free to hate me and cuss me out I will be sure to not look back at this post. 👍

Again somebody else I don't think read what I wrote here in my first sentence. 👉 "Okay so I understand in military discount is a pretty cool thing any company that offers it as far as I'm concerned is going above and beyond and saying thank you and I appreciate that." So my question is why have they recently changed it and it added ammo bullets gunpowder Guns Etc? Most places still do guns they just make it 5% instead of like Sportsman's does 5% off on guns I believe instead of 10%. Again any military discount is going above and beyond for military Elio First Responders it's above and beyond it's no different than Wendy's or Carl's jr. Or Lowe's or Home Depot. But Lowe's and Home Depot don't say you can't use it on hammers Wendy's doesn't say you can't use it on a triple cheeseburger only a single. Most only exclude discount on high dollar items. Again I understand very large ticket items but when it comes to a box of bullets or some Gunpowder it makes me start to wonder. Your post should of stopped after the first sentence. How about appreciating the fact they offer mil discount at all. Not going to argue with you about it and I thank you and others for your service, but this thread wreaks of entitlement. L.O.L. ok -

Well since Hornady started making it there's a little more availability now. Cabelas actually had a couple bags of Hornady brass which is 20% off right now available yesterday in the store but online right now Winchester it's been popping up on and off this last year but they actually have Winchester brass available $35.99 for 50 pieces they actually have free shipping right now also. They also have two to three wssm brass available
