I have two great packs to sell. First is an Eberlestock J107 dragonfly in great condition. I have used this on only a few hunts. Also included is a spike camp duffel and a reversable front panel. SOLD. Second is the famous K2 (Dana Design) Longbed, arguably one of the best external frame packs ever made! This is also in great condition with some minor cosmetic flaws (scuffs, etc). This pack is huge and will haul just about anything. The only issue is the film (some sort of coating) that covers the material on the inside is flaking off. I am not sure what this stuff really is but it certainly does not affect the pack structurally. The waist belt and yoke are both LARGE. $200

Yeah, it is a great pack. The only reason I am selling it is I have the Dana Terraframe also! Don't need both.

My 2 cents... To some, hunting is a lot more than just antlers...it is a tradition. I would be lying if I said I didn't dream of killing a big 110" buck, but it is not everything to me. It is about the entire experience from scouting, exploring new areas, enjoying the company of others and if your lucky...harvesting a deer. But the next part is my favorite...butchering, this something I enjoy very much and get great satisfaction from. I enjoy this part of the process just as much or possibly even more than the rest of it. This is how I was raised and I hope to pass this on to my kids. And let me just say, I do a lot of backpack hunts and work quite hard doing this but I have no problems shooting a small buck after putting in so much work. In fact, I don't backpack in to find big deer, I pack in because I enjoy it (and get away from the crowds)!! I get satisfaction out of packing out a deer. Again, it is about the whole experience, the deer is just a small part of it. Lets just remember the old saying...to each his own!

I have a Remington 700 in 6.5 RM, and love it. Nothing will replace my favorite 7 mm RM for game from jackrabbit size to moose, but shooting the 6.5 is a pleasure and its the ballistics are impressive. So far, all I've killed with it was the small mule deer I shot last year. One shot. One deer. Bill Quimby Bill, is your 700 a short or long action. I have a short action and have been looking for a good load. The short action requires seating the bullet in pretty deep.

i suggest a 6.5 -284. i shoot often in the f-class matches in phx and mesa. they are the perfect warm up for rifle hunting coues whitetailes. i have never shot against a . 270 or a browning a-bolt. i would like to. grin Well I just bought a 6.5 rem mag and looking forward to shooting it. The only drawback with this particular rifle is it is a short action so I will be limited to how far out I can seat the bullets. Due to the high BC of these bullets I think this will make a great long range gun...I hope. Anyone else like the .264 calibers for coues?
