I wanna know how these guys are getin deer with fishin poles?? be it carp or bluegill...or are they fishing while theyre supposed to be huntin'....can't figure it?? I got my Coues tag..... and I don't care what they say on MM either.. I Do NOT need a fishing liscense to hunt deer... of any kind!! And hey if people limit themselves to hunting one kind of deer, they are missing out...... My family never killed a coues deer until 08.. this year we all have AZ Coues tags though, (I think my truck sticker slowly brainwashed them)!! and of course the bow tag does not care what kind of antler it goes on in my hand.

Awesome Stories Guys, now this is good Campfire talk.. Heres one I don't think I've shared yet on here.. I was about 7 yrs. old and me and my buds were " hunting " with our sling shots in the foothills behind a subdivision on the American River..... We came around a bend in a drainage and there was a huge flock of turkeys.... Being that age and thinking We were all the best hunters since Danielle boone( and not knowing much better ) we let it rain pebbles at the flock.. I had aimed for the biggest gobbler and aparantly hit the Tom ...This Old Tom simply just wasn't haveing it...He flew the 20 or so feet straight at me, with no time to " reload" I simply ducked and covered my head... The tom continued attacking me from above for a a good time.. to a small boy this was like a caveman faceing a terridactle, at least in my young mind it was...He finally jumbed off my head and hands and began circling me " for the kill ". At this point I was over being scared/shocked and pretty much mad, I stood and relized I did have some size advantage, I kicked hard at the Rageing Tom, he was to quik though and dodged my blow, I began waveing my fists at him and got ready to kick at him again, I called his Bluff and He turned tail back to the rest of the flock, dissapearing through the brush on the slope....My bros were just standing there in awwe of what had just happened to me..." dude your bleeding, bleeding bad" my friend says, I looked down and my hands and lower arms were cut bad from the Tom.... My buds started flipping out, I was still mad, it really did look as like I had fell through a glass table though, this was serious bussiness now... we got home quik. I luckily stopped bleeding, Mom patched up my arms and hands. I probly needed a few stiches but butterfly bandages did the job, I still remember the look of amusement and maybe even a hint of pride on pops face as he listened to me and my buds tell what had happened, on our great hunting adventure... and I still have a couple scars on my hands to remember my life and death battle with the Giant Man Killing Thunder Chicken.

Nice finds Harold, that first skull is knarly and those inline tines on those sheds are awesome! Made it out again last weekend bro.... kept about 20 horns and found maybe 15 more we left... One of them keepers was my buds first coues brown of the year. It probly came from a middle aged buck and had shed maybe couple weeks prior to him finding it, so they are out there... but if your like me coues browns are the hardest ones to find, so luck be with you.. My friend on the other hand tells me he's going to find one and does just that 15 min later .

My father and I hiked 3 miles each way the first few days of his hunt to a nice honey hole, but the big bucks just weren't doing anything there...on the last morning he walked the road to a known spot where they would cross about a mile from camp. This buck was there with does & slipt up and the rest is a filled tag, freezer, and a " management" buck on the wall as dad called it. Still a trophy none the less.. I made the plaque and mounted it for his Christmas present.I thought the field pic sequence was funny. A Tuff and memorable hunt it was! Congrats Dad
-
Your hooked now! Congrats on the set and the rest as well, great day you guys had.
-
Dad was thrilled as allways with any tag filled or just to hunt the hunt as well.... When I got to camp for a pit stop the last day he said he found a nice "set" and they were hangin in the tree behind the camper, he had said nothing over the radio about getting a buck.. something was up though cause dad sitting in camp during a hunt is odd anyway, dad is good at surprises, I still assumed he ment sheds... I took a look, saw the buck...Then bear hug and teary eyed whoops of celebration between us ...yes last day bucks are great cause to be happy

+ 1 , picture of a lifetime, never mind trying to tag that-that beast!! Congrats to the photographer and good luck to the hunter, guessing the buck still alive since no one has pics otherwise. The terrain where ty got his bucks can change alot in a couple hours hike, I mean alot

Heck yeah man them are some nice bucks congrats to your dad!
