Thx everyone. He was an old buck and Im stoked to have taken him. Not the biggest around that spot but wasnt about too pass. Lots of great deer being posted, and that will be posted, my congrats to all. It was a short hunt for me but thought I wld add a few details as so many have shared a story or at least foot notes.. Opening morning alarm malfunction wake up late... Get ready in ten min. and start hoofing it.... 6-8 still hunt to my spot cause its late... Pick up muley shed I walked around four years... 8:15 make sure theres water where im counting on it to be... 8:20 settled mid hill off the trails next to a log,overlooking the spring and trails..wait n b ready... 8:50 a deer moves through the brush, I see antlers, but he didnt come in and was now lost in the brush.. 9:15 put safety back on fight the urge to get up as my leg is numb and im goin crazy thinking he pulled a genuine grey ghost... 9:20 and I catch him in a sunny spot at 120yds..head and tail down..movin out fast... let out a Meeaahh..he stops, I lean into my shot to get on him..jerk...nothin!!! Safety back off lol...he steps nearly being out of sight behind a large pinion.. MEeeaaahhh!!! Again..he freezes..squeeze it off nice...Boom..he crashes, I hear him run..crash again and then silence... He went 30yds... the rest is pics and packing with my Dad. Old muley shed As he lay First look Boiled out, gross/green scored at 113 7/8

Congrats to u and yours... giant typical n one to be ptoud of. Having just a little more patience than these deer is often the success factor as u guys showed and Im sure many of us our learning... nice job n great shooting

I just wait till end of march and quit in april, I have a four hour 2 mile hike planned with twenty of my bros, and I've allready started going to the gym in preparation, got some new boots and a quad and a full tank in the truck... hope i can find one this year...elusive little things them sheds, allot like snipe huntin' ....gonna go to big lake i think...they got bathrooms and an area to drink and feed the bears too...dam bears eat most them sheds..acording to the feller at hannigan meadows ...good luck

I go road hunting all the time.......IT'A THREE-FIVE HOUR DRIVE TOO THE DEER CAMPS No but really, I play the real "road hunters" to my advantage when I'm out in the field, I laugh at them but to each his own, like said by others I guess theres a time and place, I stand up for all of our hunting rights!...USUALLY, ur on the right side of the law if you just use common sense-SOME road hunters are just plain stupid, just like some everyday people are...and "you can't fix stupid"

YUP....few yrs ago jumped a lion on a rocky ridge top.. at first I slowly backed away about 100yds...but then I got my Bowie out and went back to the spot...he had left...probly a good thing for me, and him...I don't think either of us was in a good mood!

I think your a little paranoid buddy...But, If the pic is that good, I would enter it in a contest. untill then blurr out the brush and paint him purple, write your name on his chest and let us see ......if you really wanna know...some pro's on here that could guess within 1/2 inch I'm sure
