Thanks for the info. I looked up the reviews on the tripler and I think that I might be sold. I really don't want to pack a spotting scope around. Thanks alot. Any other info / suggestions would also be helpful and greatly appreciated.

That buck is insane. Congratulations to the lucky shooter.

This is now, officially, my favorite thread and I have no idea what started it. I have my guesses but it doesn't matter. It is like the "Seinfeld" of hunting threads.

Video Of our Mexico Bucks
NOFX replied to crazyaboutcoues's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Worked for me too. Jason, every year I ask for a drop tine buck regardless of the side. Especially one that long (never get it though). Very nice video guys I enjoyed it. -
81% of Antelope tags go to NR....
NOFX replied to jamaro's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico
Brush Buster, I am from AZ and I dont hunt antelope. I think that you have posted a very strong argument for your right to LO tags. However, upsetting outfitters who dont want residents to find their bucks is not IMO a very good argument. I could care less, those bucks belong to no-one person. And the point that nonresidents would have to draw a tag? Boo-hoo cares. Stick with your strong points as a LO, you have a good argument. -
A couple nights ago I started and posted a poll like this in the hunting AZ forum. I woke in the morning and immediately deleted it. I felt that a poll would cause finger pointing and further divide the hunting community. I am curious to see a poll, but maybe it is not the right thing to do.

That buck was back in 2005, I figured Id get it ethically and wrestled it down till I could say that I harvested it ethically (naked with bare hands). It got a good shot in or two but notice that it is posing in the back of my pick-up truck. The winner is???????

Im new to the forum, hopefully I can post some pics. This is my 4th coues, progressively getting bigger. Cant wait till next season. Definitely better than my last coues

GOATS??? never thought if it. But I am sold. How can you beat that? I chose quads, cause I could do more than just hunt with em. Horses/mules, although great for packin, seem to be too much maintenance for me. However, I appreciate the horse that has packed my bucks out for me more than once. I will always appreciate the places that horses/mules can take you that quads can not.

It is very unlikely to believe that a "name change" to an existing amendement would accomplish anything. Bear, deer, elk, moose, wolves, coyote and a # of other game species require different levels of management. It depends on the species.

Is that alberto in the pic.? like previous posted, sounds like you had a good time. I know that taggin Albeto would have been the highlight, but you are fortunate to be there and see what you saw. Great job!

Alright, I have been following this thread FOREVER. No law has past yet that I know or have heard of. There is still time(hopefully) to be heard. We can gripe and moan and fight amongst each other about ethics and opinions all day for weeks, months, apparently. All I can say is, "relax" it will all be O.K. I am impartial to long distance rifle shots and archers baiting, Photoing and harvesting trophy deer. I myself have been unsuccessful at any type of hunting other than hard work. I believe that archers who use cameras and bait work just as hard, if not harder than the average rifle hunter. Now, I might express concern to those that abuse the right to bait. Large scale operations designed to domesticate deer for personal profit seems a little bit unethical. However, I wont judge because we all have a right to earn a living or harvest a buck within the laws that are presented. A well trained hunter knows his/hers capabilities. Who is to question that? Answer=PETA, AZGF, activists, rifle hunters/bow hunters. I hate to put the hunters in the mix but it appears that we are divided. How can we stop this? Hopefully a large quantity of hunters (not just bow hunters) voice opinions and nail the chick behind the banner (to the wall) From this thread I have heard that this may pass without hunter opinion. Is this true? If so don't worry, our arrows will still shoot straight and our rifles will be, well, as good as its shooter. This is nothing new, laws have been passed and will continue to pass. Show up at the meetings or stop complaining. Our voices can be just as loud as the naked lady with the banner across her privates. I know that dates and locations have been posted, but when would be the best time to address this issue? Or is it to late? If it is we will live and continue to hunt the way that we love to hunt.

My wife had Lasik done about 3 weeks ago. We spent a whoppin 4 grand, for the newest and greatest equipment. We did not want to go cheap with eyesight on the line. She had 20/20 in one eye after about a week, and the other eye is real close. She says that it gets better everyday, and was worth every penny. We went to Hodges Eye Care in Tucson.

Well I finished refinishing my .410 GA. I really appreciate those that walked me through it. It looks great in my opinion, and I feel that I have given the shotgun a personal touch (which I will eventually hand down to my child). If I decide to refinish my 30.06, I might spend a little bit more time and effort with advice from audsley's post. Here are some pics. Remember that I am an amateur and my 1st effort. I really wish I had before pics to post, huge difference.

I have an old 30-06 and 410 GA shotgun that have been in the family for a long time (passed down generation to generation). The stocks are looking a little hammered and I was wondering what would be the best way to refinish them. Ive googled some info on it but their seems to be several different methods. Any help would be appreciated.

Good question?

I love using the middle finger but rarely does it accomplish anything other than make me feel good. Making yourself feel good is what its all about. KGAINES: Thanks for the schedule. I will do everything in my power to attend.
-
There is a way to change that. Maybe post dates/locations for these meetings. I for one would more than willing to attend and give my 2 cents. Just an after thought, I have tried baiting with zero success. I probably wont spend anymore time trying. I just hate giving an inch.
-
I totally agree. I just think that it is a sad state were in when we have to watch what we post for fear that it will be used against us by PETA activists. We are doing nothing wrong or illegal. I dont know about the thousands of other posts, this one just didnt seem to be much fuel for activists IMOP. So what are the SHOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHH post out of curiosity?
-
I have heard that the deer cain doesn't work. I'm sure that it depends on location though. I don't want to stir anything up here, especially since I'm fairly new to the forum. But I haven't read anything illegal posted here. I didn't even get the impression that he was wanting to bait the deer for the sole purpose of locating and killing a buck. Why are we so afraid of PETA? They want to eliminate all aspects of hunting, not just baiting. Should we stop posting all of our questions, stories and pics out of fear of PETA? We need to actively attend commission meetings as KGAINES wisely pointed out. If its a personal ethical issue than I would understand, but I wouldn't bite someones head off, calling them A-Holes for asking a question that is perfectly legal (for now anyway). I highly doubt that a post like this could be a deciding factor when it comes down to judgment day. I just noticed the apology for the outburst, but I'm posting anyway cause I don't think that we should be so worried about anti-hunters. So don't take this personally, please (really). Enjoy hunting while we can. One forum post will not change laws. I really hesitate to post this but here goes.

Congrats on a nice buck. Ive heard the details of the hunt and I think that it is worthy of posting. So, share some details.
