Here he is. Long story short cause Im headed out to help my bro-in-law on his hunt. Saw one non-shooter opening morning and then nothin till wednesday when I glassed up two 80-85 in. bucks and let them walk. Frustrated I headed out Thursday morning on my long trek in, stopping along the way to glass up bushes, trees and rocks. At my last glassing spot I set up and instantly glassed this guy up at 750 yds. I need to mention that I was hunting alone and that I am not real comfy with that long of a shot yet. So, I stalked to within 300 yards, peaked over the bushes and to my relief he was still there. I set up and laid him to rest with one shot. when I got to him, I gave my self high fives and then realized just how far from any road we were and that he was really heavy. Oh well, I got him out, cant walk today and it was all worth it. Dale at Wild Heritage Taxidermy taped him at 112 2/8"

Unit 23 whitetail in Oct.

Gino, I was just getting ready to clean out the freezer. Although, most of the meat is from a beef cow I had butchered. Not sure if that is what you are looking for. Give me a ring next time you are in Young if you want it.

Thats exactly what I got from it. Apparently, its illegal if he says it is. I laughed when he found the recorder and said "thats illegal" Id be pretty embarrassed -
Late rifle Bull, unit 23. 1st elk tag. whoo-hoo!!!
-
Very well done Dale. I will try to come by later today and see it in person.
-
Dads not going to be able to use his spring turkey tag. Can someone give me a quick run down on signing the tag over to a family member (child)? Does it have to be a youth or can it be an older dude like myself?
-
Thanks Doug, kinda what I figured. Guess he can just donate it.

Congrats, I really like the name Riley.

I will up the ante I figure a 1000 yard rifle shot is equal to a 135 yard bow shot. Anyway the bubble on the bottom of my sight hits 135 yards and the degree angle i must cant my bow up is probably close to the cant of 1000 yard rifle shot. Close to a fair relationship. I just hope I will not be detected by my prey when I'm backing up for the shot. 135 yard bow shot! Why not? Bob Backing up for a shot seems a little rediculous. But, if that floats your boat then OK. Just dont expect others to respect your PRIDE. My pride is about self respect as long as I stay within my personal limitations. As long as I have done that, I really could care less about others respect. The things I do, I do for me and nobody else. Is what I want to do set a bad example? Some may see it that way. I see it as if I stay within my personal boundries and make a clean harvest, then that is a great example. M This respect you are showing your yourself, doesnt seem very respectful to the animal in the crosshairs. Would you back up if it was a 120ish buck? It just seems bizarre to me. But, like you stated, a clean harvest is a good example. I am by no means against LR shooting. We just have different views on what to be proud of. To each his own and good luck on your quest for a clean 1000 yd shot.
