About 9 miles south of Alpine off of Middle Mountain I was visited by some wolves during archery Elk season around 2am as they were sniffing my 5X6 bull hanging in camp. No mistaking these fellas as that long lonesome howl gave me chills and you just can't mistake that! I love wolves as part of our eco system but I also think there should be open season on them 365 days a year! Just saying...

Kowa Spotter VS. Swarovski Spotter
Broken Wheels replied to SuperiorBowHunter's topic in Optics and tripods
Too bad you are not interested in the ATS-80 by Swarovski as I have one that I will sell for quite a bit less then shops and I am not trying to take away business from anyone, just trying to sell mine and save a fellow hunter some serious cash when its all said and done. See my post in the classifieds if interested pm me! -
I live over by the multi-generational facility off of Adobe between Power and 80th St in Mesa and probably see 3-5 coyotes a week around 0430 going to the gym. Last week I had 5 together one morning crossing the street heading to our subdivision so it is indeed getting worse.

I think it's called a business folks and whether we like it or not it is nothing more then that. The manufacturer's are the ones soliciting these "teletubbies" to help move their product and be honest, if you were able to hunt for a living tell me you wouldn't do it? It wouldn't matter if it was on private property, leased land, land owner tags or public hunts like the boys from Eastman do, you all would love every minute of it and be flattered if someone asked you if they could put your name on their product! (and pay you to use your name!) Keep it real and take the positives from what they can offer. I'm just sayin...

On this site everyone swears by Swarovski like they are getting kick backs or something but honestly, it will come down to what fits your eyes the best and what you are willing to spend. The three brands mentioned to you first are all great and I am happy to see another hunter picking up some quality glass! Good luck and have fun looking....

Let me rephrase that lol. I meant to say BAD GIRL, why would I want to carry and hold a boy Something you would have never heard Michael Jackson say no doubt! LoL My vote would be for something like Megan as in Megan Fox who if you dont know her is a really smart, intelligent, wonderful person!

this might affect your 36b hunt
Broken Wheels replied to AZLance's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Funny stuff in here sometimes and you all can really make something pathetic humerous almost! Beats reading the Arizona "Repugnant" newspaper comic section anymore! Thanks for the laugh guys and hopefully this will only add to the real truth going on in our state and will elevate the response from the national media. -
Good to see somebody else that appreciates the breed and wants specific points on them. I was fortunate enough to own a really fine blue healer from a lady that raised them in Louisiana and he was 55# of brute strength and all front shoulder, neck and square head! I could go hunting and leave him in camp with the wife and kids and not worry a bit as he was always watchful and protective of all three of them. I didn't even train him to be that way, it was just the way he was and I miss him since his passing a couple years ago. Should you get any information on a breeder locally please pass the information along to me as I have convinced the wife to "allow me" to bring another healer home to grow up with our labs! Thanks, Kirk

Great looking pups and would love to have one! Probably would have to name him Buford or something along those lines but man oh man would the misses be all over my six if I were to come home with one. I will spread the word around our company here and best of luck finding them all homes sir.

Wanted: Swarovski Spotting scope 80mm HD
Broken Wheels replied to SuperiorBowHunter's topic in Classified Ads
My Swarovski spotter isn't the HD version but it is in mint condition and sitting in the safe if you want to make an offer for it. Been "safe" for a two years now since I bought it and comes with hard case, paperwork and the camo shell cover I put on it to protect it. Let me know... -
Brent, just seeing if you ever moved these and if not are they still for sale?

A shame you have to mount a hidden camera somewhere close by to catch the culprits but how fun would that be to actually film someone doing it, then run into them later on and have the proof to show while you put a pop knot on their grape! Not condoning violence or anything but I'm just saying...

NM Antelope draw transparency huh?
Broken Wheels replied to gonhntn's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico
Not to rub salt in the wound but I didn't know where else on the site to ask this question! I was drawn for rifle deer for November and realize I must buy the combo tag/license and applicable stamps, but I also purchased a landowner antelope tag for September too, so will I need to purchase my NM license in September and then what happens in November when I show up to buy my rifle deer tag? I sound retarded but I would rather know now then break a law later or not have the funds to pay for something unforseen once I get there. Thank you, Broken Wheels! -
Anything "3 legged" is possible as I know for a fact a few of my techs have lost 3 legged races when dealing with this old broken wheels hunter!

Go Marshall! Nice editorial on 1070
Broken Wheels replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Excellent representation of the common man/Arizona resident! Thank our lucky stars we are still able to voice our opinion in this great country as Marshall did, as it could be illegal to do so in a couple years. -
Pat Murphy was an great college baseball coach but ended up as most do and that is he got caught up in all the hype and thought it was all about him! Good fundamentals baseball coach and disciplinarian but there will never be another Coach Brock @ ASU! Go Devils!!

Wow! Awesome buck and sounds like you are an awesome Father as well! Your son should be proud of both things we hope and good job Dad!

Too bad the DBacks didn't trade for this young man instead of Dontrell Willis! I will take character over ability anyday and this young man has a lot of quality character no doubt!

You are correct in thinking this way my friend as I always used to figure a worst case scenario when I hunted alone! Water would be my main concern and now I carry ultralight purifiers so if I know there is water in the mountains I am hunting I am good to go! Water and a poncho liner and I am squared away! Happy hunting Slim! I pack enough so if I have to stay out over night I can, have before in the past and probably will again in the future. Plus, I hunt by myself for my tags, no one is going to miss me for a few days if something happens to me. Water will be an issue.

Wow! I never realized how important food is to some folks but I do now after reading all of these! Amazing how we seem to not be able to maintain or curb our appetite until we return to camp but as I am seeing that is not a problem with some of the seven course meals some of you take to the field with you. Too funny! Those sour balls they sell @ The Sportsmans Warehouse wet the whistle and provide some sugar rushes for me and also are a great throwing snack when your spotter is situated far enough away that you wish not to move. Also do the Clif bars and sometimes tobasco flavored cheese nips though the smell isn't something I like to spread throughout the countryside! Great ideas from this article though and sure was a hoot to read, thanks ya'all! No tooth brushes out there I noticed???

What many fail to realize is we are talking about birds of a didn't feather in relation to packing AR's, more 30 rd mags, camo out and keep em in your cross hairs till they decide to go elsewhere! Most illegal folks are going to avoid hunters at all costs but its those that are dealing in drugs or the coyotes being paid to get X amount of people across safely that stand to lose so much, and they will not think twice about shooting another human being! That allows them to not hesitate in doing so when for most of us hunters, we first try to identify who it is, are they a threat to us, what are they doing and how many are there before we consider doing anything. All those questions are hesitations and will cost you your life in the wrong situation, so yes it is dangerous for all of us down there but so is crossing the street downtown Phoenix during lunchtime, or riding my Harley anywhere in the valley! We will continue to hunt down south as it is too great a country to not hunt in. The only thing I can honestly say I would be concerned with would be your campsite while you are gone in the field hunting as of course anyone with common sense realizes most hunters are our before sunup and back after dark for the most part. Of course this pertains to all human beings of less then stellar morals so it could happen in 6A as soon as it could in 36B. I'm just saying...

My monitor wasn't blurry! NOT!! Ate a few c-rats with some great Marines and proud this AF FAC got to break bread with the best! God bless our troops serving in harms way!
-
Not familiar with this bow, what is the axle to axle length? Are you located here in the valley by chance?

Quiet is the only way to go! I love having my family with me in the mountains but sure wish we could leave the city behind such as ac, blow driers, microwaves etc that all constitute cranking up the generator. Honda's are not cheap but they are more then worth it and its a great peace of mind when you are needing to recharge your trailer batteries.

San Diego boycott of Az backfired
Broken Wheels replied to cactusjack's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
So what we are witnessing is the "potential" for total anarchy and break down in our system as we know it today! So L.A. boycotts Arizona, we shut 25% of their power off as well as take away vast amounts of water diverted to their pathetic state which allows their fields to grow produce and fruits (called export goods), which then creates riots no doubt that would make Rodney King's riots look like a grade school kids fight! Then Texas decides to not share its vast amounts of oil which shuts down major cities throughout the country causing more riots and miles of lines for people to just fill their tanks to go to work if they still have jobs to go to and it goes on and on and on! Personally, until this happens Obama and his cronies will continue to ruin this country so I say let the cards fall where they may and lets take care of our own and see just how great this "change" is for the morons who voted for the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Holder, Clinton, Sconyers and the whole lot of them!
