Let me know if it doesn't sell and we can get together. I was on no way implying you didn't take care of your weapons, this was something told to me at Cabelas and a couple other guys there confirmed the recent rash of sight issues is all. I am not at all familiar with this pistol and was enquiring before making a purchase. I will wait and see what comes of your potential buyer and good luck Gaucho.

Who is looking forward to Mearns?
Broken Wheels replied to Xman2000's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Not asking for a honey hole in no way but where could a rookie bird hunter with an anxious dog go hunt these gorgeous birds? Again I am not asking for a honey hole, just tell me a unit or area in a unit that might hold some birds huntable with a dog or without a dog is all. Thank you and I would love to get a pair mounted as you did, they are beautiful! -
Why do people sit so far back from their harvested animal in their pictures? Odd?

Does the 5" barrel also have the problem where the front sight can fall out or walk out on its own as the shorter barrel does? I saw a guy in Cabelas buying one and they actually were giving extra front sights with the purchase of the pistol. Just wondering before I commit is all and thank you for your answer to come.

Great, realistic hunt and props to Mullins Outfitters for assisting without asking for a credit card number first! USO could learn a thing or two from this story!

73 yards! Simply WOW! As each of us testosterone filled men read this article we need not say anything more! WOW!

"Wrangling a dead horse" you say Washington State hunter? Wow, thats a heck of a reach for you but a valid example of how difficult it is alone, in the dark and trying to keep one eye on what you are doing while you keep the other eye on the surrounding darkness for four legged furry friends like Yogi!! Congrats on an awesome, honest hunt that was enjoyable to read Brian! ................... : ...............

Hunting and Fishing
Broken Wheels replied to Coues&Bass's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Very valid concerns both of them and for all the times we complain about the "fish cops" we still must realize they are at least qualified to manage our wildlife! what we NEED to do as voters and hunters is manage the managers or in this case the "fish cops"! As long as everyone stays involved and has an eye on the managers I think in my humble opinion that AZG&F should continue to do their jobs. Hope I'm not wrong on this one... -
Jeremy, I must say this is probably one of the most "selling" postings I have ever seen on this site! Your skill is like art work and I would imagine even my wonderful wife would be salivating at the look of the venison once you are finished with it! Thank you for showing folks what their venison "should" look like once processed and also for making me hungry now!

next morning early they walked in and the tree they had their stand in was cut down and their stand smashed. and the uso punk and his client were in theirs. they had some words and the uso punk laughed at em so they went back to the truck and came back with a chainsaw and proceded to cut the tree down the uso punk was in, while he was still in it. guess it got western after that. i thought the utah boys handled it very professionally myself. Lark. I would sure like to shake the hands of those Utah hunters as THAT is the way to deal with buttheads like USO and I care not to hear the old " well that was just one outfitter from USO and he doesn't represent USO as a whole" crap! Bottom line, they crossed the line and the Utah boys made everything right! Of course the poor hunter (sort of lilke military intelligence huh - "poor hunter") was caught in the middle of it all but maybe next time he will be more selective on who he hires to hunt for him! Man this would have been a hoot to watch! Thanks .270 for making my Monday morning!

White Moutain Apache
Broken Wheels replied to cottonwoodcoues's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I too wish I could hunt on that reservation. I've met more Apaches that are along with what Chef here is talking about. But, like anything else there are good ones and bad ones. Some are lazy, but some are good, had working guys. You can still hunt elk, bear, turkeys, and antelope on their reservation. They believe the deer are sacred and therefore won't let white man hunt them. I wish it weren't so, but it is what it is. Besides, if we could hunt it we would have ruined it by now anyways Just for instance: what if we were to base our not letting anyone other then "the white man" hunt Elk on "our land" because we find them to be sacred? So we defeated the Native American in a war, established a place for the Native American to live, provide them with X amoount of money every month, feed, cloth and educate them and in return we are "not allowed as white men" to ever hunt what ever they decide upon? Very interesting how that all played out but then again, we kicked Japan's tail too only to rebuild it and they are better off then America is today! I am seeing our country erode piece by piece and everyone but the Anglo Saxon male is protected against pretty much anything and everything! Coincidence I think not but just consider it every time you drop a coin in the slot machine at your local casino which rakes in some serious bank and all for themselves! Taxed, I think not! Just saying... -
Amen to that! Oh BTW sidearms are legal to carry on an archery hunt!

Though I agree on most of what has been said (minus the not shooting towards the end of day) I sure hope the anti-hunters do NOT read these articles cuz next thing you know all of you will be on a national magazine or television show called something like Treehugger.com as witness to the fact we shouldn't allow hunting in the United States. Just saying...

Yes Allen, please fill in the details of the hunt now that Chef took care of the pictures for you! Thank you Chef for putting the pictures in as Allen asked me to do it and I am a computer retard at best. My idea was to get Akuritone to do it for me but thanks a bunch for stepping up and doing this for us and also sending the scoring sheet over to Allen while he sat in the motel room on his bed with the head in his lap! The antelope's head people, focus - focus!

Typical Jarhead! (affectionately meant) Gotta love all maggots! -
Good job and way to not hang your head after day 1. As for the AR I hope you were shooting the AR-30 and not the AR-15 as that would seem a bit shy for a black bear, especially over a couple hundred yards away or more! I'm sure this will stir the pot but thought I would ask, but beings you mentioned varmint or coyote shooting in the same breath I assume the 15! Still though you got your first bear and that is indeed an accomplishment and a rush no doubt! Congrats pardner!

I'm not 100% positive but I also think his bugle is kind of raspy "sounding" from the "looks" of the pics, like his limp is causing him to not really beller one out!

Coueshunter and I were sighting in our weapons @ Usery for our upcoming bad a$$ antelope hunt in NM and we had a fella tell us a story about how he was dejected over a bunch of Rhino's (4 wheel kind) riding down the road through his unit which was over around Wickenburg and he just upped and stopped hunting and went home. Then this other fella must have overheard it and chimed in "sounds like a hunting story" and I quickly responded "maybe his kind of hunting but not ours". The perception from those that either don't hunt or don't like hunters/hunting is always as such and I wanted to make darn sure this second fella knew all hunts are not like this west side Sally that packed up and went home. We all have had bad moments out there but when I recall some of the good times it brings a smile to my face and I know, I just know I was meant to be out there in the mountains! My friends see a dramatic change in me as I drive further and further from the city and it is all positive and relaxed! I sure hope you reconsider my friend and continue to enjoy the outdoors as it is not something all can appreciate. Amanda was spot on when she suggested backpacking in on a hunt in Colorado or Utah, do a bow hunt where it isn't as hard to get drawn or you can buy an over the counter tag for not much and still do what you love the! Best of luck to you in what ever decision you make effenjeff and know that your fellow brothers/sisters on this site will carry the torch into the night!

Coueshunter is flying first class in our company jet and we are going to enjoy every last minute of this antelope hunt! I will leave the pictures to Allen but hopefully we will have many "success pictures" to show all of you! Hope the rest of you aim small - miss small and also include pictures!! God Bless America
