Wackin' and Stackin' with the Golden Ticket and Chasin' A Dream Outfitters!
Halibuthead replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Elk Hunting
Congrats to Gino and Colton and their hunters. What an amazing finish. I know that a huge part of what made that happen for them is their year round and year after year dedication to scouting. That was not just lucky. That bull Colton shot is an absolute beast. Everyone of those is a trophy in my book. Even though I live in AK I love Arizona and still totally dream about hunting there. Great season guys and thanks for the write ups. Keep us posted on the Lion hunts and upcoming Coues Archery hunts. Rod -

I will say this about this whole mess. If it is anything like our system in AK and the dealings we have with the Feds over Halibut this is how it will work: They decide what they are going to do. They open it up for pubic comment because they are required to. They sit there and stare at you while you testify with a "hurry up you idiot" look on their face. Then, they do what they have conspired to do all along. The bottom line is they are Government Pawns who are brain washed into forgetting you are the ones they serve and that your opinion matters. They have sold their sole to the big machine and are therefore destined to suceed at taking away your rights. They are smug and have lost all human compassion towards those they "serve". They are slaves empowered to screw us at our own expense. You might think "dang this guy hates the government"! You got that straight. HH -

I have read this entire forum and really feel for you guys. I deal with this crap all the time in our fisheries. Fish and Game forgets their responsibility is to make decisions based on biology and what is right for the resource. To me it doesnt sound like the number of deer being taken by archers is effecting the population so it should be a non issue. Sounds like someone has a hair up their butt about baiting and rather that find ways to give or allow hunters opportunities they are looking for ways to take them away! My best advice is strength in numbers. Letter writing campaigns and showing up in huge numbers at every meeting that addresses the issue. Representatives who are well spoken meeting with the comish in person would be a good thing. I will be watching what you guys do and am happy to write letters from my end. I hate big bro and their screwing over of the little guy. Good luck. -

I just read this whole post. What an awesome animal and amazing hunt. Congrats to Eric. It has all been said but this ram had everything. Huge bases, perfect brooming, scars from battles, and excellent symetry. Definate hunt of a lifetime. I know the chances of me ever getting to do that hunt are slim to non so I am very excited to get to read about it and see the pics. Awesome job Eric and Gino. -
Swap fishing on the Kenai River for hunt info
Halibuthead replied to themax_ak's topic in Hunt Swaps
No. I was just curious. I am a legal registered guide on the saltwater. I know that private boaters who offer their services for trade are walking a fine line legally. It might be better to say "Looking for a hunting partner who might want to become friends and join me fishing in Alaska as well". Otherwise legally you may not trade or barter services. That would be considered guiding. Alot of us pay big money and have years and hundreds of thousands invested to be able to offer those services. Not making a stink rather just giving you a heads up. Good luck on your quest. -
Awesome buck. And, great example of good sportsmanship in the woods. If everyone hunting public land took that approach to other hunters it would remove alot of problems. Good luck with your bow.
