Hey A BS! Thanks for sharing this experience as well. G&F was a shorter on each horn so they came in 2.0" less than T.S. and R.J. I am waiting on some final edits and then I will get more pictures and a concise account of the story. azdeserthunter, you are correct. Travis is a great hunter for sure and very knowledgeable about the desert he grew up in. The harvest reports for this unit definitely supports his efforts and knack for finding these rams in recent years. If I am not mistaken this is 3 rams over b&C out of here in 7 yrs. he has been involved with. I will say as "A BS" stated this was a "hellava" ram! The 44BN ram wasn't too shabby either!

Just thought I would add a little bit here while waiting on DB Archer! I had an incredable hunt that I will never forget. Even more so, the new people I was able to meet and share a great hunt with. Thank you Travis Scott for your friendship over the many years waiting on this tag. I received a life time of knowledge on this hunt with applicable advice that made this experience beyond my comprehension or belief! I truly appreciate the help. Swivelhead, Mike Daliy and G&F - thank you! I Muchly appreciated the advice, maps, and resources you all gave. I am still working on a nice write up and pictures. Here is a bit of a teaser and a ram we did not kill that we dubed the "accident" ram for obvious reasons. It was total accident seeing this ram as we had not found a sheep in 3 trips! From the jeep while loading our cots to head home, he was walking 125 yrds. from a trail we had hiked 2 previous times in 4 days. Randy and I joked it maybe easier to find pink elephants here than all the sheep we have heard about. We did not shoot this ram. Here is a picture of the first ram I glassed that wasn't an accident and was found on the following weekend at over 1400 yrds. Another angle of the same ram above We did not shoot this ram either. Much like DB archer experinced - we did not find many sheep early! Through all the scouting weekends sightings only increased as the weather cooled down and available water/forage changed from summer to fall. I will save this for the complete write up a bit little later. To say the least we finished strong. Thanks again, Jack

    Pigeons

Does any body have a use for some pigeons? I have 5 pairs that have nested and have squabs now fully feathered (15 Total). I am done with training and need to find a home for them before sheep season. These will provide any future training needs you may have. 928-606-5381
  5. Thanks Andy... Looks like the hard work is paying off. How do you know he ate deer? Maybe he loves the coyotes.

    Draw question

I know a guy that I work with whom his son was called by our "lovely" Game and Fish trying to reconcile a charge to his card. THEY HAVE CALLED TWICE. Let's give G&F a frigen break some times.

    ANYONE GET HIT FOR SHEEP

Just as ruthunter got a tag in a unit. We all have a better chance than non-residients. You want the play in the "Best" quality units so be it but complaining benefits no onw. I think the key is perspective to where one applies. Also, just like elk, there are large bulls all over this state and an application that only wants unit 9 or 10 for archery/early rifle may only get one or two tags in a life time based on simiple draw odds and numbers of people. We have limited resources and limited tags (Thank God) to allow for a chance at a trophy. None the less, I appreciate the system we do have because we all have a chance to draw and the more bonus points the better the chance. That is what makes it fun! As for my situation. I hope it is my wife with 8 points drew and not me with 18 because that would mean she won the lottery by being LUCKY. I realize either out come is less than max points. I appreciate Game and Fish for giving us the chance to draw a Strip Mule Deer the same year as Antelope with Archery Bull. Although not likely, we can and a few have.

We have a hit. Either my wife (8 pts) or I (18 pts). Also, charges for Coues.
  19. I know this has been asked before.... how are you determining the true B.C. of your loads which would impact the dial setting? I know many manufacturers tend to over estimate the published B.C. by as much as 10% which can cause quite a difference at even 600yrds for an impact and energy. Factory ammunition is historically very different in each gun for velocity. Also, what do you use for the elevation and temperature? I know many members shoot on hot and cold to basically average the two. I thought I had seen a basic 5000 ft @ 70 degrees F working very well for most. What is the common thought on the leupold dial systems that are custom to your load and bullet weight? It seems like a nice idea but could be off at further ranges just with temperature and elevation? Not to mention the temperature impacts on the ammo itself with velocity?

    Dial Drop Determination Questions?

Thanks guys. This is exactly what I though would be. Practice......... it is a shame how many people won't/don't practice to make the proper determinations needed.

    Leftover Luck

Interesting.... I thought "on or after" clause would elminate anyone from Friday or Saturday and therefore mail delivered today would be the lucky draw winners. If mail has been delivered and they are not open it is still delivered prior to "on or after" the date. Does anyone know someone that knows someone's friend whom knows?
