When plucking, go against the grain! Sit on your butt, turkey feet towards you turkey head away. Grab a hand full (but not a real big hand full) grab them at the base and a quick steady yank out and up towards the head they pull right out. Once he is featherless. Dump boiling water on or him in the pot then use pliers for pins. Wings get broke and second joint. Have fun!!!

My 11 year old is a small framed one. 4' and change and about 80lbs. He shoots my Ruger M77 .243 just fine. fits him good. They are a great gun, compact too so they fit the kiddos well.

Nice goat and story to go with. Antelope hunting usually has some of the best/funniest stories behind them. Every antelope hunt I have ever been on has a great story.

Flagstaff Support
Browning'sCustomMeat replied to Browning'sCustomMeat's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Thanks for the update Mike. I remember all the talks about the indoor range idea when I lived in Flag. That would be a splendid idea. I think the last building they were talking about was the old Kmart off of 4th. Flagstaff needs a range wherever they put it. Doesn't have to be huge or take up a giant pisec of land. Here in Payson, the Jim Jones is relatively small but a top notch facility. 3 different ranges and an archery course. Its about 5miles outside of town. I agree the Leupp Rd area would be a fantastic spot. Hopefully everythig works out to where most will be happy. Thanks again for the update. -
haha!! Good One!

Unit 22 has a multiple bag limit of 12 in that area, 2nd most in the state besides 6A and 16A which are tied at 15 cats. Lion hunters have helped out a bunch in this area but there are many...too many cats, still. However, the sheep population in 22 has doubled, increasing substantially in the past 3 years. Every year I buy my lion tag just on the "in case" of me seeing one and being able to get a shot off.

That thing is beautiful! Awesome job.
