What a Joke.......
tommat replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
MSNBC anounced today that Oberman and Matthews will no longer anchor their political coverage. They are now going to use a news person to do the anchoring. Oberman and Matthews will still keep their shows as they are MSNBC's highest rated shows..... -
5B south for me.....I keep loading and unloading my pack......going in circles.....I even put a bugling bull ringtone on my phone.......I hope to see lot's of Elk pics posted here in a couple of weeks. Good luck and safe hunting all!!

Wow manhunter...you been around....interesting post!

There is a lot of talk that Mccain will go one and done....he would be 77....the nomination would be hers to take if she was the sitting VP.
-
If you watch closely that video has been heavily edited.....each time after he quotes scripture...there is a cut and paste...I would be very interested to hear what was cut..might explain his point a little more clearly.......very effective video though.

It sure won't even be close to what she will be going through the next three months......17 hour days, 7 days a week. Intense pressure!. She pulls this off it will be an amazing accomplishment.

And lets not forget what the laser rangefinder brings.....knowing the range...not guessing....huge difference!

Manhunter...I'm sure you would agree to the double standard between Mom's and Dad's......This is a NEWBORN INFANT that has special needs. All the women in my life all agree they would have a real tough time trying to be as busy a she is gong to be......it has got to hurt! She does not seem the type to depend on a nanny. I know her kids and spouse will help but he has a job also.....Not knocking her, just think it will be a challenge...Obama's Kids are much older.....wouldn't even be a concern of mine if she didn't have the little one. And she'll be a first time Grand ma in a couple of months.....a lot to have on your plate....I sincerly wish her the best and hope she can pull it off.

Policy will be debated...they should have at least 3 debates...Obama will have to come up with plans for his promises or Mcain will be getting my vote surely....I look foward to these debates and will, along with some research I will do on my own, use them to decide my vote. I plan on making my choice before the end of October. Sure I could figure it out sooner but I have a life and an Elk and Deer hunt to get ready for also! It really has been an interesting race to watch and follow. I also agree with many that the upcoming supreme court positions, how we get out ourselves out of the Bush / Cheney mess in Iraq while saving face as a nation and not looking like those thousands of young american sacrifices were in vain,(a whole other thread), the energy crisis and of course our old "friends" the Russians........make this the most important choice to lead the nation in decades. -

Man that is a big pet peeve of mine. I have had more hunts messed up by people ignoring the sight of me and just hunting away as if I wasn't even there. I was fishing at Rose Canyon once and was into 'em... sure as heck a big family shows up...kids, grandmas....sets up within 6' of me and starts throwin lines.....as if I was invisible.....had someone shoot at a deer I had glassed up last season....clearly saw me glassing him as they walked up...took off after him and started blasting away....grrrrrr

In ideal conditions....I will go as far as 70....at home I can hit a 6" group with 4 arrows with Broadheads..you must practice with your hunting heads at these distances also. BUT you must have solid foundation, broadside animal and no wind......Todays bows have really made these shots ethical if you practice practice practice. I have passed on "hail marys" because the animal / conditions weren't there. I won't release if I don't feel confidant of a solid hit........I hit a cow ELK poorly once...high and back from 35 yds out. She was walking when I shot. Big Mistake never to be repeated! Sickest feeling in the world. Turned out great with the help of the whole camp we found her within 2 - 3 hours about 200 yards off. She was great eating. We do owe these animals quick kills...I can't believe that other guy looking for an hour.....

I hear that a lot and find it interesting and am disturbed by his relasionship with this Ayres dude, and will look into it. However, can't he have changed is position on some issues...McCain sure has. He has changed his immigration stance, and his drilling stance recently to appeal to the base. I was an early McCain supporter from the last election when he was running strongly against Bush before he was "Roved" in South Carolina with the "colored Baby" thing. I liked his independent style. I can remember clearly Rush Limbaugh mocking him, calling him "Jonny skywalker" and insulting him about the way his arms hang, now he has changed to become a strong supporter. In order to win the presidency both candidates are going to have to modify certain positions they might have held in the past. As far as extreme changes to existing policy after they win office, we can thank God the founding fathers built in the checks and balance system of government. It almost forces crossing the aisle bi partisanship in order to get anything done. -
My main concern is her having just had a special needs baby in April....now she is gonna be on the campaign trail 60 days straight....doubt she will give it her full attention.

Just had a depressing hunt Tuesday at Rosemont Junction in the Santa Ritas (34A). I got my last Coues right where Augusta wants to place their tailings pile from their strip mine. On Natl Forset land. The project hasn't been approved by the USFS yet but already they have wells all over the place and have installed numerous gates on the old two tracks I use to get into the back country. They also have heavy equipment parked all over. Roads that were small two tracks, maybe fit for a quad, bladed by D8's and made into super highways. I can't believe they want to do this to this beautiful country, loaded with Coues, Mule deer, and Javelina. The recreactional uses that will be lost are numerous. Hunting, horseback and ATV riding. Right off an official scenic hwy (hwy 83). go to the web site http://scenicsantaritas.org/ for more info. Of course the flip side the mine uses is jobs....and the need for domestic copper. One thing I found out is that they plan on stripping this prime land for copper that they will EXPORT to China....all this by a Canadian company...great rape our land for another countrys benefit.
