KP Hunter, You might try the country north of the Bar-V ranch between I-10 and the northern end of the Empires. I saw two 4x4 mulies, the bigger one scored about 160". There are some hills and points to glass from - they are running in bachelor groups.

Errrrr.....There aren't any deer in the Empires. Never seen any...uhhhh...never killed one....uhhhh...there is "No Deer Allowed" signs all over the place.

After 8 years of no success with a bow, I took a nice pretty buck with minimal technology...my success with a bow is proportional to the amount of time I spend in the field. A couple weekends a year just aint going to cut it. 8-years also marks the year when I got married... no coincidence there. I got a leftover rifle tag this year and whala - no record buck but nice to be out of the drought.
