    I drew the January season in NM, unit 24. I was hoping to hunt waterholes with my recurve. I killed a small buck in Arizona this way, I was told waterholes would be frozen by then in NM. Any advice? Any waterholes/ areas to keep an eye on? I can (and will) sit all day over water over scrapes/ trails. Thank you for your time

    Bringing up this old thread. I drew this tag for the hunt in January and I was hoping to sit a waterhole with my recurve. But I was told a lot of the water is frozen by then. I know it’s upper elevation in that unit but the deer gotta drink somewhere. I’m surprised it may get that cold.
