The other thing about kids drawing the tags, is that when they are young they will take it with a rifle. I know a few hunters whose parent put them in when they were young, they killed an ok sheep with a rifle, now when they are adults they have become serious bowhunters. Now, they cannot ever take one with a bow, which might have been their preference.

GTTS10% Here's a 10% off code for: GoToTrafficSchool.com -
Half of all marriages end in divorce. The other half end in death. I don't like the odds!

No more than 10% of the permits can go to non-residents on any given hunt. That leaves at least 90% for residents. If you all have the same amount of points each (in this case it appears you each have 5), once 10% of the permits have been issued to NR's your entire group is no longer eligible to draw a permit while they continue to allow residents to draw until all 100% have been issued. You do the math. The only time applying with a NR MIGHT help you is if they have a lot more points than you, and preferably the average of all of the group's points will still need to be at or above the max points in most of the better hunts to get drawn.

I hope I'm guaranteed, or very close to it, a tag for archery deer in 13B with 14 bonus points. And, of course, I'm going to draw Rocky Mountain Sheep with my 2 points!

I plan to draw a Rocky tag this year with my 2 bonus points!

I'm 0 for 5 on Arizona drawings this year [even rejected for archery javelina!], so this one can't be any worse!

I don't understand the description of the hunter as "auction tag hunter" Jim. I wasn't aware the rez auctioned off any tags. Do they have a highest bidder auction for a sheep tag each year?

editing software or new camera?

What file type does your current camera record in? Do the files end in .MTS or some other ending? -
I'll be at the banquet. Will also be measuring trophies from 3:30 to 6:30. So if you have something you've wanted to enter, but haven't found the time to get it measured, bring it by! We can get it measured and entered right there.

Buck Officially Scored 200 0/8" gross 197 4/8" net
StickFlicker replied to bonecollector777's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
Congratulations on a great buck! As far as, "With the score of 197 4/8" net it should make him number 5 all time in az..." it can only be Top 5 if you actually enter him, which I hope you do soon!! I'd hate to see a great buck like that not get the recognition it deserves. The deadline for both the Biennial competition and to get it in by the deadline to be printed in the new 6th Edition is coming up soon, so don't delay! Marvin -
Chris, On a positive (?) note, it's my understanding that G&F isn't even going to tell you that it was a credit card problem that got you rejected, so that scenario will never happen. It's my understanding that they are going to just say "Not Drawn", rather than "Rejected", so you won't know the difference...

"Dwelling on the negative simply contributes to its power" Or, at least that's what my fortune cookie from lunch says...

I had an immediate zipper failure on mine too, on one of the small pouches that never gets used! I didn't feel like paying the shipping to get it repaired was worth it to me, so I just live with it. I'm glad they do great work when you do send it back, because I think you'll be doing it pretty regularly!

While I prefer width myself, tall racks usually score better for record book purposes. I agree with the liking mass statement!

If you fully trust pulling out, I predict a baby in your future... Game and Fish Dept. has stated more than once that it is against Arizona state law to charge credit cards up front. I'm guessing the NCAA can do it for Final Four Tickets because they aren't doing it in Arizona (even if they game is here), so they are likely charging the fees in another state. The fact that New Mexico can do it is irrelevant, since banking laws are state laws, and all of them are different.

The most expensive and unrealistic part of building the wall, that nobody ever seems to consider, is the amount of private land that will have to be condemned and purchased in order to build it. There are a lot of private ranches with land along the border. That's a LOT of money.

For the same reason that ice forms on bridges before the rest of a road, the beds on a pop-up allow air to flow under them, which can cause them to get cold if it is cold and windy. I have one though, and like it. I just don't tend to hunt during the really cold times of year. I'd still rather be off the ground than in a tent, however, so would choose the pop-up over a tent.

Glad to see a little life in this African forum! I'm Jonesing to return to Africa for my 4th bowhunt....but probably going to have to wait one more year until after I cash in my bonus points for the Strip so I don't have vacation time problems. I love it over there!!

Cubs win, Trump wins, Cats win....third sign of the Apocalypse?

Congratulations on a great ram! You mention the official score, but just to be clear an official score is obtained only after a 60 day drying period is over and an official measurer scores it, which I don't believe there has been enough time to allow for that. Yours is a Green Score if taken this year. I look forward to the story too!

You should spend more time in Unit 22!

If your purpose is to store game meat, or any other meat, absolutely without a doubt DON'T get a frost free. Meat will last for years in a manual defrost freezer, and often less than one year in a frost free freezer.
