Shot this buck Friday, glassed him up tucked up in a tree in his bed. Seen one horn and part of his neck, moved over 100 yd to get a better angle and had a little hole to shoot through on a neck shot. Ranged him at 475, got set up and shot. The Western Precision 7mm wsm went off and the shot sounded good, the buck jumped up ran a little ways up the hill and stopped. One more follow up shot at 520 and the buck was down. First shot blew right through his neck and the second right through the lungs.

Congrats Kayden! I'm so proud of you, Your going to be an amazing hunter! Wish i could have been there to see him hit the dirt, but there will be many more to come! For all of you that don't know Kayden this little boy has been out in the hills with me and his dad since he was like 3yr old. He can glass up deer right along with us and is an amazing shot! He will walk his little but off, and never complain one bit. He was ready to kill his first deer worked hard for it, scouting, scouting, and more scouting, then when the time came stayed calm took his time and made a one shot kill! These deer are in trouble with Kayden and my boy who will be on hid first hunt next year! Congrats again bud!!!

I shoot the bowmadness 3G and love it, i picked it up new at pse out the door $490. They had it like 40% off because it had a chip on the riser. Pse main line bow's are sweet, you have to change the string though. My buddy just got the vendetta this year and it is a very sweet bow. Its all about what fits you though, i went to pse and shot all the bows and the 3G fit me best. FYI you cant beat pse customer service! Good luck to you!

Well I'm back from unit 10! Very slow rut up there, seen a few good bulls and passed on some small bulls but nothing yet. My Friend is up there for the rest of the hunt, hope it picks up in the next few days. I might try and get back up this weekend.

I'm off to unit 10 today to help a good friend try and kill a monster! hope we can get it done and he can pass on the small bulls. Good luck to everyone, should be a great rut this year! Shoot straight!!!

I want to thank everyone for the comments! This was the hardest archery hunt i have had, but it has also been a dream of mine to take a archery antelope! I sat a blind Friday for 13 hr waiting for a big buck i had been seeing and only had a little buck come in. It rained Friday night so sat. was all spot and stalk, drew on a buck but didn't get a shot. I chased goats all day! They are the hardest animal to spot and stock because they just don't stop, At one point they will be going one way so you try to sneak over and get on them then they change there mind and go the other way, ( with all the cover there is out there in the flats it makes it tough)! Sunday morning left town a little late do to a blowout and late night getting home sat night, got out there started glassing and this buck walked across the road about 300 yd from us. It was on had some trees to stalk behind, ran from tree to tree to close the distance. Got to 106 yd and he put his head down and started feeding off, went to the next and last little tree i had he was 92 yd. He was looking my way, didn't know what i was i just sat there. He then walked towards me to try and see what was over there, Started making a scrape on the ground and forgot all about me. Ranged him 68 yd drew and the fever sat in, couldn't hold the pin on him to save my life. Shot like 1'' over his back, the buck ran a little bit to the left looked around as i ranged him again 68yd wow! At this point the fever was gone drew and the arrow hit right where i wanted it to, he ran about 70 yd and down he went! That's when i think everyone in that unit may have been able to here me and my brother witch was about 300yd behind me! I'm glad my brother was there to share the hunt with me!!

Man sorry to here that. Same thing happened to me in 09, they took everything. They got $8500 worth! So i feel what your going through. One thing i really really hate is a thief!

I live in Safford, both units have lots of whitetail. 32 has a lot more issues to get on land. I would hunt 31, get a map and do some scouting. There is a lot of coues lower than you would think. You can pm me with any questions and i can help you out and get you started in the right direction.

Anyone got a chance to look and the 2014 License and tag fees they want to do? What do you guys think about this?
