SOLD! Browning Citori Sporting Hunter over and under! $1,025

Here are some pics. Sorry if they are crummy but taken with and uploaded from my phone as my computer is down again. Should be the last pic, but it's a close up of just the butt and that's where the dings and indentions are. I was told this could be fixed pretty easy with a rag, hot water, and an iron but would hate to make it worse myself. I have the four chokes for it as pictured. 3 of the 4 chokes will shoot steel shot. Barrels are 28" long and chambered in 12ga 2-3/4" and 3" Invector-plus Call, pm, or text with responses 62391o3753

    Panic shoppers relax

I seriously can't believe it's so bad out there that even .22LR's aren't available..... (heard it months ago when a buddy told me he bought a cricket mini rifle for his kid but couldn't even find .22LR ammo for his little boy to shoot it, and I still had a hard time believing it then). Guess it's a good thing for me I have a decent stock and that I'm primarly an archery hunter and don't shoot guns all that much anymore. relax

SOLD! Thompson Hawken .50 cal. Black Powder

Sold Pending Funds, sounds like for parts but it's to a CWT member.
  8. SOLD! Thompson Hawken .50 cal. Black Powder rifle. This is a kit build, not a factory build, but very functional. I got it for a good price so I'll pass on the bargain. Got it as a back-up to my other Hawken but I find myself mainly shooting flintlocks so no need for a back-up after all. Good bore, needs a new nipple as it's mushroomed and then it's ready to fire (could probably do a little filing and make this work but why?). Great guns, very accurate, reliable, and a ton of fun! I've taken a Javelina and an Antelope with mine shooting just patched round balls and real black powder. An upgraded nipple makes these Hawkens more reliable anyways. Cabelas had the Knight red hot nipple and is a 1/4"x28 for #11 caps which were just a few dollars a couple years ago when I bought mine. I'm sure Sportsman's Warehouse has them too, maybe Bass Pro. If not Trackofthewolf.com is a great Black Powder website and they sell the Hot Shot nipples and std. replacements, you can also order them directly from Thompson. Get it while you can, this should go VERY fast at this price! If you're new to black powder and always wanted to try then now's your chance for cheap! I'd be more than happy to help you out at any time as far as what you'll need, loads, powder, accs. etc.... $135, I'll be in the Surprise area till Monday Call or text 62391o3753 Christian

SOLD! Thompson Hawken .50 cal. Black Powder

Price reduced to $135.00 from $150 to be able to buy the nipple and still be at less than $150 out the door. I can't believe this is still here for this price, I know I was all over it when I initially bought it. Great guns! Just to give you an idea on price and value the unfinished kits alone used to be around $500 and the rife from factory around the $750-$800 mark. On ebay barrels alone go for $125+, locks for approx. $50, stocks w/o barrel up to $250, triggers around $50+ hammers for $25, patch boxes $35+, sights for $50 etc..... I could split this up and part it out for easily over $300 but I'd much rather pass on the value to a CWT member who'd appreciate it and will use it. Link to ebay for parts and prices and demands http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=thompson+hawken&rt=nc

SOLD! Browning Citori Sporting Hunter over and under! $1,025

Thanks guys, it is a super S/G. Wish I didn't have to sell but that Taxidermy sure gets expensive QUICKLY! There is a lot of interest in the SBE II, just waiting for the "I'll take it"! Waiting to hear back from one gentleman now as to if we are meeting up to close the deal. The Citori is a beauty as well, hope I don't have to wind up selling it too haha.

Sorry about that, the price was in the subtitle, but doesn't look like it shows up in the mobile version. It's in the post now and is $210 Face to Face
  13. I have had bad luck with Danners to date and won't buy another pair as of now. Stitching has started to rip within just a couple uses and progressed from there, been ridiculous and an absolute joke. Knew better when I bought my 2nd pair and dissapointed me too! I'm not that heavy either. I have a pair of under Armor Speed Freaks for the lighter and cooler duty and more for archery stalking conditions. I also have a pair of the meindl Perfekt Hunter but with 400Grams Thinsulate I've rarely had the opportunity to use them but a handful of times due to the heat. I have been looking at the Meindl Denali, Perfekt Hiker, Light Hiker, Kenetrek Hardscrabble, Desert Guide (not waterproof and not really considering but taking any suggestions). I do want them waterproof and HATE swimming in my boots. I want these primarily for hot low desert hunting, and even on September Elk hunts but still is hot. Really looking at the Kenetreks but concerned about how hot they may get. Looking for opinions for a good durable long lasting boot without hopefully baking my feet. Really contemplating getting both the Denali and the Hardscrabble. Thoughts or more opions?
  14. Great info guys and not just on "which boots to buy". As far as just trying them all on the store and buying what fits and works..... that never works well for me because most seem fair in the store and fit well. I don't know if they'll work unless I actually use them. That's when I find out if the foot slides forward, get blisters, tear up my feet, pinch the top of my toes etc.... I bought my first pair like I stated I was gonna initially and they are the Meindl Denali. I wore them about half the day on a couple pretty rugged hikes with around 40lbs on my back. Had medium thick wool socks. Seemed pretty good about half the hike, but as the leather at the toes flexes it really started to dig and pinch the top of my feet. It just seemed to chaffe every step Heel slipped up and down a tad but didn't get any blisters which surprised me. The sizing sure seemed right in store and and fit seemed good and comfy. Got home that night and tops of my feet were raw and same with parts on my toes. Over a week later and the top of my feet are still a little scabbed and toes sensitive from all the hard leather wear on top of them, still bothers me just in tennis shoes. I'm kind of gun shy now to give them another try and cannot have this on a hunt as it would completely ruin it! These are the same socks I wear with other boots. Is this just the nature of a full on hard leather boot like this? Is it a bad fit? Should I have wore thicker socks or two pair? Will I have the same issues with the perfekt hikers, Kenetreks, or any full leather boots that are similar? It's been so long since I've been able to wear my perfekt hunters but it seems like the leather flex at the toes may have hurt my feet too. Both of the toungues are squeeky as heck on the Meindls, what's up with that! Great advice about our sponsors Amanda! I'll swing by Gila Outdoor tomorrow on the way out of town and check out the Lowas. Don't those black boots get hot here in the Desert in Az during the summer? Look like great boots but can't imagine black in August out here.
  15. Thanks for the responses guys. How are the hardscrabbles in the heat? Similar to the Meindl perfekt hiker or Denali I assume? A couple of you are saying Lowas....... Which boot or boots in particular? I'll be doing mostly hiking, some backpacking. A lot is in nasty sheep type rocky country. Bruised the ball of my foot something fierce February on my HAM hunt with thinner boots. Hurt for three months, must have bruised to the bone and kept agitating it I'll probably try the Denali, or the perfekt hiker and look at a 2nd pair still up in the air. Kentrek Hardscrabble, Lowas, the Sierra trading post one look like a great deal too. I like the fact that I can try on the Meindls and the Kenetreks locally instead of Guessing. Anybody in town stock Lowas? I wear wool socks, been wearing them more and more lately, even in the summer. I'll have to get some Merino wool, they're just so much more expensive from what I've seen.

    Results Are Out!

my deer and sheep are showing the same thing. I'm guessin they'll fix that when they update the bonus points. I hope! That's what I'm thinking but it worried me when it said "Bonus Points (as of 07/24/2012)"

    Results Are Out!

Not drawn, only put in for the 12AE early hunt and the muzzy tag in 12AE. My buddy got the 12AE early tag (same one I put in for) with 2 less B.P. than me, not fair! Looks like it's an over the counter tag again, plus Archery. Congrats on everybody who got their tags, and especially to the dogs that drew my 12AE Muzzy hunt My loyalty point for Bighorn and deer are now Zero, I hope G&F fixes this and was just a mistake on their part. I was not rejected for either hunts.

What Cell phone provider do you use?

I currently have AT&T and I seem to be the only one in camp or in the hills without cell service. AT&T cell service absolutely sucks!!! I'll drop a call driving on the freeway in town. I'd go back to Verizon but they screwed me when I left for AT&T. I had only 1-1/2 months left of a 2 year contract when I left to get the iphone from AT&T. They told me I'd be only be charged and pro-rated for what I had left on my contract. I went to AT&T and they hit me with a crazy $250 charge (the full cancellation charge). After the Huge charge I called and they said it was because it was an Alltel contract (Verizon bought Alltel while I had Alltel) It really burned me bad! I know they have the best reception and now have the iPhone, but don't care to pay that stupid $250 fee to go back plus $200 for the iphone 16GB and another for the iCare, not to mention another $25 over what I'm paying now for monthly service. I was never happy with Verizon's customer service or how they handled my situations when I had defective or faulty phones. Initially I left Verizon and went to Alltel and was very happy with Alltel. Well,.... then, Verizon bought Alltell and had MORE issues so I left them..... again! I just signed up for Sprint and have a 14 day trial. I thought I heard in the past that Sprint was pretty good, but not my experience for the 2 whole days so far haha! I won't have enough time to make it up north to Payson Mtns, Flag, Prescott, MT Graham etc... and don't want to be stuck in ANOTHER 2 year contract with cruddy service. Just curious who else has Sprint and how is the coverage in the mountains, out of town and in desolate places. Who else do you have besides AT&T or Verizon and are you happy? I can say that the service in the White Tanks tonight with Sprint was BAD, AT&T was much better LOL, I couldn't believe it! Heck I had 3-4 bars on sprint and couldn't make a stinking call and failed every time. I've always said "nobody's service could be worse that AT&T" but now I wonder???

What Cell phone provider do you use?

That's definitely not what I wanted to hear, but it's the reality, crap! I was excited because this new sprint plan will cost me at least $25 less a month than I'm now paying for AT&T. A Verizon plan will be more expensive than what I'm paying for AT&T. I need a data plan and a reliable smart phone to be able to send/recv. emails and access the Internet in as many remote places as possible. I could have sworn I heard people say they liked their Sprint service over the years. Must have just been people in the city that never really had to deal with coverage issues out of town or in the hills. I have my answer, thanks guys! Guess I'll consider tucking my tail between my legs and go talk to Verizon

    Browning 300 WSM Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x50

I have the same gun and in the same .300WSM round. Great gun and fantastic shooter out of the box! Killed some animals for sure with it at yardages out to 500+ yards factory. It has been a 750 yd gun out of the box with factory ammo (165grn federal fusion ammo). My previous set up was very similar to this except I had the varmint reticle instead of the B&C, I even had the same limbsaver butpad and the kick is very manageable for this gun. I have the load recipe for this gun (the same gun, almost identical) with 168 grain Berger VLD's that shoots great out of mine if needed. This gun has been very impressive especially for this little skinny short factory barrel. Great GUN!
