Who did your bolt for you? Having a gun built as we speak, and the one thing we are not doing is the bolt. It looks great. The gun does too. Brent -

Rookie long range shooting mistake!!!!!
cohofishing replied to Big Browns's topic in Long Range Shooting
I have two sightrons that I have made zero stops for. I use the same loads always so it wasn't that hard. I measured that gap between the turret and the scope at zero with a feeler gauge (spark plug) and using nylon washers from Ace, sanded them down and used them to fill the gap. It took a little fitting but works great. I wish all turret scopes had caps and tried a few that do but I really like my Sightrons. Brent -
Did really good on amazon last year on a sightron. $680 if I remember correctly. Brent

I have been waiting to buy FHF large for a while. They are behind on orders and manufacturing. I have used a kuiu for a few years and not real happy. Like Huntharder, I don't like the way they fall down when using the bino's. There is a couple of other things also. I did some modifications to my smaller size for my 10x50's but never worked one the ones for the 15's. I just ordered the larger size from marsupial gear. I think it looks great. We will see. Brent

Tubb level looks good. Haven't bought one yet but will. It looks like you can put it on with out removing your scope. Brent

Proof Research barrels
cohofishing replied to WampusCat's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I was going to use one on a 28 nosler I am having Craig's Custom Rifles build for me. We are building a light long range gun and a carbon wrapped barrel was what I wanted. Proof research was having a sale and I was ready to buy. We wanted a 26" Sendero Light with 1-9 twist. Well, they didn't have one but was willing to back order the barrel at the sale price. I wanted one "now" so I made some calls. I found one in Georgia but got confused while talking to the gun builder on what twist I wanted. In the couple hours it took to figure out exactly what I wanted, I figured out the that the difference between a fluted brux 26" barrel (3lbs 2oz) for $450 and a 26" proof research barrel (3lbs .48 oz) for $900 was a 1.5oz. Now, these are not exact numbers, but you get the idea. I was already losing a lot of weight in other areas of the build so I decided on the fluted brux. Not exactly the info you where looking for, but those are my 2 cents. Craig's had no problem using the Proof research barrel for the build but I decided the money was better spent in other areas of the build. Brent -

I have a Nikon 3-9x40 BDC long range reticle scope that came off of a 308 savage I bought to use in a build and never did. I shot the gun ten times and then sold it with a minox scope I had. I was planing on using the nikon on a t/c omega I have and never did. The only flaw is the sticker has been rubbed and was like that when I bought it. The gun was use slightly and never out hunting. The scope held zero fine and has no problems. $90 shipped. Brent

I have the platypus gravity system also. Have used it for years. I like how it mates up with the Plautus storage bags. I also have their drinking tube which mates to all the bags eliminating the need for a bladder. Great product

Problems 7mm Rem Mag 162 ELD X
cohofishing replied to Paladin529's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have been shooting the 143 eld-x in court's 264 am and for her gun, they really like some jump. I started close to the lands and farther back I loaded, the more accurate they became. For me, they are shooting great at .030 off of the lands. Brent -
If you are talking about the site that sold Danner and lacross boots, it was called the break room. They shut it down. They said you can get the same sales on their sites. I haven't looked. I have had good luck with shoebuy.com. I bought my lowa's tibets from them. Sign up for their emails and you will get great coupons. They have good return policy. I have bought boots for court from there and multiple pairs of running shoes with good luck. Brent
