I bought a J34 this year and just got back from my first hike with it. Love it. Packed in water for my daughter's October hunt. Pack weighed 52lbs when I left the house this morning and it worked great. I am 5'5" and that pack fit me way better than the 4500 I used to use. It is set up perfect for a meat hauler (I bone out my whitetails) and with the super duffel, it will work perfect for my bivy hunts. It does ride funny without any weight but when it loaded down with just your basic day hunt weight (25lbs) it rides great. Would change some of the smaller pockets, but the pack as a whole worked well. Hope this helps, Brent

I bought a dnz game reaper mount for my winchester model 70. It is a one piece base and bottom mount like the talley. I paid $87 shipped. There is no need to lapped their mounts and so far I like what I see. I was having problems with my groups walking left to right with my leupold so I thought I try something different. They carry mounts for the tikka. Brent

Maybe this will. Brent

www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5321920.pdf www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5322026.pdf Here's the links to the info. Like I said, this all changed as of August 4th and they expect more to open by August 15th. Good luck on your 27 tag. I had a 27 December tag about ten years ago. It's a good hunt. Brent

My daughter has the youth cow tag for unit one. After I read your post, I went to the Apache-sitgreaves web site. There is a map as of August 4th of areas and roads that are open for use. They expect that more areas will open on August 15th. There are areas that are closed till further notice which covers one of the areas I planned to hunt but nowhere could I find that the whole forest is closed. Brent

Beautiful work. Any tips for velvet deer? Brent

Hi, I used Tommy's service last year and my daughter shot here mule deer about 300 yards from one of his waypoints. That being said, there's a lot to the burros and I still ended up doing a lot of scouting on my own. Good Luck Brent

Hi, I use reloader 22 for my 264 win mag. I bought a new pound from sportman's and I finding that the new pound seems to shoot totally different than the older stuff I have. The cases have powder residue all the way to the rear of the case. The accuracy is not the same and the shot sounds different. I haven't changed my dies at all and other powders shoot the same as they always have. My older reloader 22 seems to shoot the same as it did before. I have tried the load a few times and the results are the same. The new stuff seems totally different from the older powder. Any ideas?

Hi, Here's a link to shilen barrels website on their break-in process. It's in their question page. I follow it for all my new barrels or new rifles. It seems to work for me. Brent http://www.shilen.com/faq.html -

Hi, I use the G-5 sight. I love it. It has 3 fixed sights and a movable last sight. I use 20, 30, 40, and the moveable pin at 50-80 in five yard marks. Works well for what I do. Brent

Got my vortex scope from Doug this weekend. Great price and great service. This is the forth time I have bought from Cameraland and if anyone is looking to buy optics, give Doug a call first. Thanks Doug for getting the scope right out to me and thanks for the coffee. Brent

Hi, If you're talking about the on- line field day, I ended up having to travel to Phoenix to get it done. At the time, the fish and game here in Tucson were having trouble getting their teachers to respect the on-line system and none of them were willing to do a field day for it. Spent the day in Phoenix and had a great time getting it done. They do a great job and there were a lot of kids there with their parents getting their certificates and learning a lot as well. Brent

Hi, I have a three year old badlands 4500 that just got back from the "shop". It is clean and like brand new. They replaced a buckle, pull cord and the waist belt. I have used it on five bivy hunts and have packed out 110 lbs over five miles. It is a size medium and it just doesn't fit right.(I'm 5'5") I have the 95oz bladder that goes with it. I asking $250.00 for it plus shipping. It's a great pack and well taken care of.

Hi, Sorry I didn't get this posted sooner. The pack is sold. Cody, it was a pleasure to meet you. Brent
