Found this buck on December 30th and tried to fill the 2013 tag. Came close a couple of times but couldn't get it done. Did a little better today and closed out the 2014 season on the first day out with a 48 yard shot on this good looking 4x3. Guess I can now focus on my pig tag and spring bear tag. Brent

Anyone hunt Brown/Grizzly in Alaska?
cohofishing replied to ready2hunt's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
I grew up in southeast alaska and have killed three. You do need a guide and there are many areas to hunt. The biggest bears have always came from kodiak island but there are big browns all along the coast. They are hunted in the spring right out of the den which give you the best coats but can be hard to time. To early, no bears. To late, no bears. They hang right on the edge of the snow melt. Hunting in the fall during the salmon run can bring fat bears with short coats but timing is also important cause once the fall rains come and the streams flood, out go the salmon and the bears go to the woods. Great animal to hunt but like everything else takes some research. Brent -
Looking for reloading data for berger
cohofishing replied to 123456's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Email them at berger. They will send you the info for the gun you want. At least they have in the past. I have 300 wsm and 264 win mag. They have always been good about that. Brent -
Do you get the magazine thru their membership? Brent

Way to go girl. Brings back memories. Great buck. Who did the work on the gun? Brent

Do you have any idea what the inferno jacket weighs? I am in the market but I can not find the true weight. Brent

That brand I believe was starting in part by South Cox. You can find some of his articles in Eastman's bowhunting. He does a lot with traditional archery and writes a lot about western hunting to include a lot of high country backpacking. It is good to see that his stuff is getting good reviews. Brent

Courtney shoots a 264 win mag. The muzzle brake and the long barrel makes shooting her gun a dream. Brent

Here's a short video of Courtney shooting the gong out at 500 meters. Had a great day shooting with Anthony and her. They both shot better than me but that's what makes it fun IMG_0201.MOV Sorry for the commentary. Brent

I have the ZA 6-30x56mm. I wish I could say I am super happy but I am not. The scope glass is great and the 56 mm is huge. This does make the scope really bright and in low light conditions, it is great. I am not real happy with the eye relief. The scope itself is designed to sit way forward so you don't have to worry about recoil. Great idea but I find myself fiddling with it a lot. Target knobs are solid and protected, which is one of the reasons I bought the scope, but every time I use my zeiss, I find myself wishing I bought another one instead of the minox. Try one. The guys at carmeraland are great and will work with you are far as returns. They know that you can't really tell till its on a gun. Brent

I have one with a LT265/75R16 Goodyear tire on it that I have been kicking around my garage for years. I have two full size spares with 35's on them so I don't need it. Live in Sahuarita though. You can have it if we can figure out how to get to you. Brent

Do you come down to Tucson at all? Brent

I not sure what maps you are looking for or what gps unit you are using but I have used this site for years http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/. You can get all kinds of maps that you can download on to you garmin. Then, by simply downloading their mapsource program to your computer, you can use the same maps at home. They have all the state maps, wilderness, trail maps, etc. They are free. It takes a little computer know how, which I really don't have, to get everything up and running, but with a little time, it can be done. Brent

I will take it for $200. I live here in Sahuarita. Brent

New rifle. Can't find ammo to sight it in. Need help
cohofishing replied to Jimmyc's topic in The Campfire
I sent you a pm. Brent -
I use the mont-bell super spiral down hugger #3 with a silk liner, also. Great bag. On warmer hunts, you can leave the liner at home and colder hunts, take a couple of body warmers. I have used mine in 8 degrees with my long johns. The bag is pretty constrictive. If you like to move around a lot, there isn't much room and the zipper only goes down half way. I am only 5'6" so I get away with the short bag. I think I bought mine at camp saver and they thru in a sleeping pad with free shipping. Great bag. Brent
