How much for just the arrows? -
No, we never got on them again. Only heard one more gobble the rest of the hunt. I wish I had some info on 4A for you but I don't know that unit. Good luck!

Don't forget your windicator!

I've always enjoyed using decoys and am anticipating the senerio you described. Do you remember what model decoy you used? BTW, I beleive we ran into eachother turkey hunting this spring. I took pic's of the tom you shot. My name is Ed, I was with my buddy Jason. Ed, thanks again for the pictures! We had the broadside cow decoy. What unit is your tag in?

I helped on a hunt last year and we used the Montana cow elk decoy and it worked great. We had bulls come charging in from downwind just to check out the decoy. It's light weight and I just tucked it between my back and my pack. It was totally worth having.

Man, I wish I was down in the valley. I'd totally do this. Get yourself a Bradley smoker. You won't regret it.

Go to the Army surplus store for pants. Or you could try Wal-Mart. I usually just wear a pair of brown Carhart dungarees.

I've camped with Dennis in this rig, yes a ranger will fit in there as we had one with us. Pretty comfortable. We were archery deer hunting, not too much luck with the deer but it was fun just the same.

No time like the present to learn. There is another thread on here selling a bowfishing reel. There are a number of great bowfishers on this forum who could help you get started.
-
Keep it and turn it into a bowfishing rig. You won't regret it. Otherwise, good luck with the sale.

The gulf coast also has quite a lot of national wildlife refuges with hunting programs. Pretty affordable by Texas standards. There are a few National forests also.

Austin isn't too far from the coast and the inshore fishing on gulf coast Texas is amazing. You also arent too far from Calveras lake with has redfish in fresh water. I would love to move back to texas. Go for it. you will not regret it.

I'll be out there for sure. Prowling parts of 11M and 6A, maybe 7. My cameras haven't produced anything great so I'll be walking and glassing. Can't wait.

No elk tag for me. I have a couple located in the OTC though, so I'll get one. Was hoping to see some more deer in this spot. So far just those two or three little coues bucks.

mr.smith replied to azpredator@work's topic in Elk Hunting
What is the estimated total cost ($595 for tag plus...???)not counting food? Been thinking about the otc archery hunt. Not sure if I could pull it off since I just bought a new bow. But still considering. Also what specific dates? -
Who hunts coues with a 30-06
mr.smith replied to ultramag's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I've killed two Coues with my Rem 700 BDL 30-06. One at 220 yds and the other at 300 yds. I've also shot an elk at 330yds and my wife shot the one standing next to him. All with 150gr Core Lokts. Nothing wrong with the -06. -
A little early to guess how he will finish. His eye guards are still longer than his G 2's. With all of this good rain he could finish strong. I hope you get him and let us know Jake.
