That's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.

Nice report. I was there tuesday and it was windy as heck. Kinda wish I had waited til wednesday now. We averaged five fish each most caught on jigs.

Nice! I'm going lookin' tomorrow in the spot that I hope to be hunting elk this fall. Maybe the draw results will be waiting for me when I get home.

In front of the juniper in the center you can see an antler silhouetted against the trunk.

Yowzers! I need to get out in the woods. I know where a couple big muley bucks might be lingering. Plus since I am going to find out on Friday that I drew an elk tag I need to get out and see who survived. Congrats to your sis.

Definitely not Yavapai county. There are aspens in one of the pictures. Cool pics just the same.

Don't fret the savior is here! -
I just got my Vortex spotter back after a warranty return. It was on it's way back two days after they received it and came via Fedex. In the box there was an invoice that said "warranty repair, no charge" All you pay for is to ship the glass to Vortex. Repair/replace at no cost and they ship it back at their expense. I have spent days behind Swaros and weeks behind my Kaibabs. I love my Kaibabs. The Swaros are crisper at EXTREME distances (3 miles), but 2 miles or less the difference is negligible. Go down to Sportsmans or Ross and compare them. I think you'll find the warranty and $800 price difference tips you towards Vortex.

Bonus points don't mean an extra pull in the draw. If you have two points it means you get two extra chances to get a low number from the random number generator. It's not like having two extra tickets in a raffle hopper. Basically they run your name three times and assign the lowest value. (You have to have a basic understanding of how the draw works for any of that to make sense.)

Oh sure, rub it in that you live in elk country and most of us suckers live in the valley, or worse, tucson.

Funny thing, all these guy are posting reports saying "stay out of the woods you'll scatter the elk, but hey I just got back and saw a bunch of slick headed bulls. But I didn't go over there." So while the rest of us listen to the "experts" and don't booger up the elk, they are out there shed hunting alongside the dweebs on ATV's. It's a ploy by the commercial antler guys to keep us hobbyists out. There's brown on the ground. Go get em!

That's kinda what I figured but never hurts to ask. Good luck!

Not sure if you are interested in a trade or if you would even be interested in what I've got to trade but... I have a 125 gallon glass aquarium with a stand, lids and lights. It's worth a bit more than the $300 your asking but I would be willing to trade it straight up. I really want to get my wife into archery. I figure if she shoots then I would never be without a partner at the range. Thanks for considering. -Josh

To legally take any animal, even a feral hog, you must have a valid hunting liscence. Wanna bet?
-
You don't even need a hunting license. Just go and kill them. Need any help?

Nice work. I found an area of mesquite flats this year that looked like it had been plowed around the base of almost every tree. Didn't see any pigs but it was the middle of the day. Haven't been back but it's certainly on the list for the off season.

You'll have to get/make a stand for them. As you can imagine the plastic stake that many of them come with won't go into the ground in most places.

Sweet Pics! Looking more like Gray Rabbit in that last pic Doug.

This made me laugh

Laughed so hard I snorted. -
Sweet! Way to get out there despite the rain and get it done. Congrats

My thoughts exactly. The ranches want them gone yet they want $300 for you to come "help" them. Bah!

Are you thinking about the Key Deer? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_Deer
-
I thought the same thing. The one in the avatar seems to have longer tines and shorter eye guards though.

My pig last year turned 180 degrees before the arrow hit on the opposite side. Still hit vitals and killed but was quite amazing. That was at 35yds.

I was helping on a Dec WT tag this weekend. All the Coues we saw were still bachelored up. I did glass up a smallish 4 pt muley that was chasing does pretty hard. I thought about going after him with my bow but honestly he was a lot further away with too much vertical distance to cover than I cared to undertake. I did try to put a stalk on a buck that my buddy deemed too small for his Dec tag and got busted by a previously unseen deer before I could get into range.
