What is the DL and draw weight?
-
I wish I could say I was happy with White Cloud's work. This is my Weatherby Accumark 22-250 after I brought it home. Dave Arganbright at White Cloud did the work. Rusty crown. Partially bedded. Slipped with the cut off wheel into the side of the barrel channel. Release agent left on the trigger, apparently didn't remove it while bedding? That could have been a disaster. This was my first time using White Cloud, and my last.

White Cloud crowned and glass bedded my 22-250 and did really shoddy work. Delivered my rifle back with a rusty crown and a bedding job where he literally cut into the side of the barrel channel with what looks like a dremel cut off wheel. I would not recommend him at all.

I had a very bad experience with Dave Arganbright at White Cloud. I had my rifle glass bedded and recrowned by him and the work was sub-standard. He delivered an amateurish bedding job in which he cut into the forearm of the stock. Additionally, the new crown he cut was rusted when I picked it up! To his character he asked for it back after I complained but this level of work made me not trust his level of craftsmanship whatsoever.

What is it that you need done? If its a precision rebarrel job look no further than Bruno's there off Deer Valley Rd. & Central.

What would you do? (hunting etiquette)

I would have hunted the same area utilizing those morons to your best advantage. Sounds to me like they would do a better job at spooking game than glassing any up. Anymore its tough to find areas without hunting competition...might as well make the best of the situation. -
Spring Results Are Up!!!

Finally drew another unit 7 turkey tag after 6 years! -
If you want to permanently damage your hearing, a muzzle brake is a great idea. Modern bullets enable recoil shy shooters to use smaller cartridges with more favorable results than in the past. IMO its the way to go for shooters afraid of recoil. For example, if you load X bullets in each cartridge (85 gr in 6mm, 100 gr in 25 cal and 120 gr in 7mm) you listed there in a rifle of the same weight, the recoil energy is approximately 2/3 that of the 25-06 and the 7mm-08 in the 243 for darn near the same results...a dead deer.

What caliber do you use and why?

Rifle-wise, I like a fairly light rifle because of all the climbing involved in the country I hunt. It is really steep! Off the shelf, I'd buy a Remington 700 Ti or one of their mountain rifles and call it good. Cartridge-wise, it doesn't take a lot of bullet to kill a 100 lb deer. Painting with a broad brush, I'd say any cartridge between 25 cal to 30 cal and shooting a bullet 2800 FPS or better with a BC of .400 or higher will net you superb results, even at longish ranges. I like low recoil rounds. IMHO a 7mm-08 is a great choice, as is the 260 Rem. Long range is no problem with these cartridges because they shoot bullets with high BC's so they retain velocity at extended range. Learn how to employ turrets or a ranging type reticle with your scope and you're golden. Thats my 2¢ -
That is how much a bullet drops at that range! No missing decimal points!

Do you believe camo helps when rifle hunting? Why or why not?

Thanks all for the welcome. I was fortunate this year and drew a November 24A Coues tag on the same application as my father. Its been 15 years since we last drew a tag together so I'm really looking forward to this hunt.

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Jason and within the past few years I've had difficulty not putting in for a Coues hunt every fall here in AZ. Happy to make your acquaintance...
