That is not a bobcat, it is, without a doubt, a chupacabra!!! If you look just left of the cactus/bush, you can see it's big nasty teeth.

Javelinas with a rifle is cheating!! I am not serious, but it's almost cheating. They are easy enough to kill with a bow, challenge yourself and tackle them with a bow. The hardest part will be finding them, after that, the fun begins.

A big bull with a bow is 300. A real big bull is 350 and a holy moly is anything 375 or bigger in my books. Too many people see "400's" when in reality they are really looking at a 360-375" bull.

That was kinda of the problem in my opinion. Easy to hear them all night with the full moon, but come legal light, it was like they all decided to go quiet at exactly 6:31 a.m. At any rate, cool unit with good elk numbers. Drew it on our 2nd choice, and love to learn new units. I think next time, if I put in for it again, I will have a much greater understanding of the pressure in this particular unit. Tough going into a unit where you have no prior knowledge of the pressure, or where the elk go when the pressure hits. Unlike my primary unit, I can escape people very easy, and over the years have been able to figure out where the elk like to go when they are pressured. As long as I am Archery Bull hunting, I am always going to be a happy man!!!

Hunt was a tough as they come... Lots of people all concentrated in what seemed to be the same area. The rut was lack-luster and lots of "tubers" everywhere. There was a few bulls fired up, but would quit bugling early in a.m. and not start until right before dark. All in all, a good hunt once the pressure thinned out, and the animals were able to go about their business without a cow call or tube being blown "EVERY" time they bugled. 1st week, we had to go super high in elevation ,(9400 ft) or way low to escape the pressure. Lots of elk in the unit though, found them from top to bottom.

Typical spread to be used on Elk is around 40". That is how me and my buddies do it. I just killed a bull that had a 29" spread that scored 300". On the same hunt, my hunting partner killed a 6x6 that had a spread of 44" that might score 260". Then there is that 7E bull on here that has 57" spread, but that guy is a FREAK of nature.

Let it thaw in the fridge. Make sure it does not get much warmer than fridge temperature, and you will not have any problems. It is actually easier to grind if it is slightly still frozen.

**SIDE OF HWY DOVE HUNT TOMORROW AFTERNOON!

Starting to sound like a pitty party...... Poor, old me does EVERYTHING 100% ethical and legal and everyone else screws it up for me. Oh wait, you were baiting too, so I guess you "infringed" on your own rights by doing something that was perfectly legal. ???? -

I do not believe I was in favor of the guys, I was just simply informing you of the law, so you are able to hunt closer to the roads. AZGFD has all jurisdiction now, not Local PD's. This was passed, I believe last year, whenever the new regs came out about hunting "M" units. Hopefully you picked up their shells, took pictures and can inform game and fish of their violations so they can be caught for littering. -
Great goat!! The mass is unreal!

You can shoot right next to a road. Just not from, on or across. -

So I have seen the new brochure and it looks like an amazing bow. I talked to the guys over at Arizona Archery, and they said it is unbelievably smooth on the draw. I have read online that a lot of the so called die-hard mathews fans are disappointed in the split limb and that it is only IBO'd at 328. Seems to me that many people pick a bow based on speed and that is really the only thing they think about. Funny how 350 is smokin' fast, but 330 is too slow. LOL! Just curious if anyone has shot one and what their thoughts are on it? Arizona Archery should have another in about 2 weeks and I can't wait to shoot one.

Take up shedhunteraz on his job offer. Your current boss does not sound like a sportsman to me!!!

"111" If you want field point accuracy at long distances in 85gr. look at the Wac em' broadheads. They are great heads and fly like bullets at long range. They make 85, 100, 125 gr heads and make them in 3 or 4 blade configurations. I shoot the 3 blade 100 gr. and they fly true to a field point out to 80 yards. I do not have pins further than that, but I would be willing to bet they will fly perfect at 100 yards as well.

Swaro is brighter, but much larger and takes longer to give you yardage. I have a Leica CRF 1200 and love it. Very bright, compact and has a red display instead of black like the Nikons.
