30% would be my guess, maybe a little less. But I would envoke the price is right rules and if you overbid, you lose.

I am pretty confident that you are going to run into snow, snow, and probably mud and snow. If you only have one weekend to go, I would highly recommend that you call Jacob lake and get a snow report. Then maybe change your plans and go another weekend. If you want to try and hunt lower, there is still turkeys, but usually they will just stay right on the snow line, or stay on top and it can be very difficult to get close to the snow, without being stuck in it. Good luck.

The small glimpse I got makes it look like a good buck, but you should have warned me to take dramamine before viewing.

If I am not mistaken, I also believe you are able to carry firearms into national parks if you have a ccw. Can anyone confirm this, This is a big deal if you visit the canyon for any reason.

Solid set. Nice find and defenitly a great start to the season.

I shoot Carbon express maxima's tipped with Wac' em broadheads. I believe my set up is around 370 grains. Has been deadly on 2 bulls to date. I do not believe that you need to gear your set up only to elk, if you have an elk tag. A few years back, I had both an archery antelope tag and an archery elk tag. It was a great year, and ended up harvesting both animals. Having said that, It was very impractical to re-set my bow up after the antelope hunt and then go elk hunting the next week. Both Bulls I have shot with this set up have been complete pass thru's and one was @ 45 yards. Bottom line is if you hit shoulder, your chance of finding that bull is not very great. If you miss to far back, there is no heavy bone, so the weight of the arrow means nothing. That is where cutting diameter would definetly play a factor. Think about all the female archers and youth. They shoot USUALLY slower bows with lighter arrows than you will be. They still kill elk. Bottom line is agree with what was stated above: Shoot what you are comfortable with and what works. Shot placement is crucial and I also put a 50yard maximum on elk. 40 yards if you are calling. Trust me, you will be so worked up that 40 even might be a stretch.

Great Video!!!!! Those things are a riot to hunt. Probably my favorite hunt of the year. Nothing too serious and know you will have a tag. Which call do you guy's use? I have had them come into my modern call jackrabbit more than once.

Drop in Timney is what I did and it improved my accuracy quite a bit. Plus it's easy and just over 100$. -

unit 4a, 5a has some high elk densities. Usually can find one from the road in those units.

Hey guys, I know nothing about these 2 units, but a good friend of mine has been hunting his a@@ off and still has not even found a pig. My pig grounds are in the northern units (20a,b,bc, 21, 22). Trying to help him out this wednesday and really do not know where I should look. I will definetly help anyone out who has a tag for one of the units I am familar with, if you could atleast give me an area where we might run across a piggy in 37b or 33. Since I do not even know the boundries to these units, I would prefer something closer to queen creek rather than tucson. This would be his first archery kill and unfortunately I live in Carefree and my buddy lives in Queen creek. Makes it a little difficult for me to help him since it is just so danged far away. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

Maxima... They are very strong and I have had great luck with them. Gold tip makes some good arrows as well.

Discounted mule deer and coues deer hunt - Mexico
123456 replied to tylerwcs's topic in Classified Ads
+2. If you don't have the money then shut up and don't give a smart butt comment. Blame the guy who worked his butt off to make something and complain b/c he spends his money on hunting. WAHHHHHHHHH. Vote for Obama in 2012 and maybe the guy who posted this hunt will pay for your medical or living expenses. If the hunt is too expensive then don't respond. -
I'm heading out of town right now for a hunt, I will be back on sunday. I will take a little bitty goose and a camo hat. Will call you on sunday and make arrangements. Thanks for the deal.

Sitka Mountain Gear? Does anyone recommend it for Coues hunting
123456 replied to CouesSlayer77's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
watch Camofire.com if you want Sitka at a discounted price. Usually lots of sitka on there. If you are not familar with this site, it is a deal a day website that sells hunting stuff at a discounted price. Always double check their price against ebay to make sure it is a good deal. Sometimes there 70% off claim is just nowhere in the ballpark of todays prices. -
My all time fav. is spaghetti. I HAve my wife make some meat sauce and then vaccuum seal it. I either make the noodles prior and seal them as well or If it is not a pain cook them in the field I do that. Then all you do is warm up the 2 bags and wa- lah Dinner is served. The carbs help for the long hikes of the day.
